I wonder if Momma will be able to find Penny Ann's Nylabone Toofpick! I'm pretty sure I saw it laying outside in our Boof earlier tonight. Uhhhh... not sure how it ever could have gotten there! *tries to look innocent - fails*
I can hardly wait til tomorrow so I can go outside and catch snowflakes and kick snow all over Teddi Sue! Us Tots are going to have fun! *Happy Dance*
I hope all my pals are well and yappy! Keep your paws warm, everypup! bol
Kisses to all (and an extra sweet one for my Kiko *swoons*), Zeldy ♥

Gosh! Sorry I couldn't woof sooner! I had a big, long comment all typed and ready yesterday, but when my paw hit "send" I just got a message that said "Problem loading page". Then I tried to go to one of my favoritest groups, School Fur Graphics, to post a pupdate, and I got the message again. *sigh* Anyway, I guess our internet went down, again, but it's back now and Momma and I are glad!
So, Momma went up the street to talk to the dogtor, but she was "with a patient" and wanted to call Momma later. Momma said that was fine - she'd wait. She waited for almost an hour, then told the lady to go ahead and have the dogtor call her.
Well, the dogtor finally called Momma at almost 7 p.m. last night and she was obviously in a huge hurry, talking 90 miles per hour, and told Momma if my test were to show liver damage they would give me "liver medication". Momma asked her if that would repair any damage or prevent further damage - how it would help me. The dogtor kinda hemmed and hawed and said it would not repair damage, whatever damage there might be has already been done, but the liver medicine would "help aid the other organs". *Hmmmmmmmm* When Momma told her she would try to reach Daddy at work and talk to him, the dogtor told Momma the blood test needed to be done right away or the blood wouldn't be good anymore. Momma asked her "The blood is okay now, at 7 p.m., but it won't be good at 7 tomorrow morning?" Nope. They would have to draw blood again and that would be another $53!
Momma told the dogtor she would get back to her.
OH! And, guess what?! Momma was digging in her purse and she found 9 mints spilled in the bottom! That's 9 mints that she thought I had eaten, but didn't! So I probably only ate about 4-6 mints, or so! That's still enough to do serious damage to a pup my size, but, like Flicka and a couple others have said, since I barfed 'em pretty soon after eating them, they probably didn't have much time to do their dirty work. The mints that came up were still whole, little mints - and so was all the kibble I lost, so apparently my body didn't want to digest them and throwing up probably saved me!
I'm doing great! I'm eating, drinking, pottying and playing. Momma's going to keep a close eye on me, and keep her money handy in her pocket. On Friday she's going to call Dogtor Nancy and relay the whole story to her. Dogtor Nancy has been at the clinic for several years longer than any of the others and Momma thinks she will not be happy to hear how someone who has been bringing pets there for 20 years has been treated.
Momma is praying that she's making the right decision, but she's pretty confident from what she's read, the way it all happened and how I'm acting, that I am a very lucky girl and I'm going to be fine.
And Momma will never let another product made with xylitol into our home - even if she thinks it can be kept away from us pups. It's one accident that won't happen if it isn't here for us to find.
So, maybe this Christmas turned out okay, after all! I got to eat a whole mountain of marshmallows and I've been treated like the princess I am, being smothered with even more lovin's than usual!
And once again, my family is reminded of how much our friends love us. As much as we love them! :D
Thanks, everyone, so much, for your love, support and Power of the Paw! You pulled us through another crisis and we love you!
*checks her watch* :O
I better go tell Momma it's time for my Phenobarb! I always get it in a marshmallow! ;) *giggles*
XOXOXO Zeldy ♥

Momma took me to the dogtor yesterday. My wunderful dogtor Nancy is out of the office until Friday so I saw a different dogtor.
Momma's not real thrilled with the service they've given us, so far.
Momma only had enough money yesterday for the exam fee, so the dogtor "examined" me while Momma ran to pick up a paycheck from a customer and go cash it at the bank. They took my blood, but won't run the tests until Momma brings them the $111 to pay for it.
Yesterday she told them she will have that money today, so they said as soon as she gives it to them, they will run the tests. :O
Momma has been doing alot of reading. She hasn't been able to figure out exactly what treatment the dogtor can give if my tests show liver damage or anything else abnormal. All she has read is that they will "hospitalize" and "administer glucose and fluids" by IV. Well, I'm eating and drinking and acting totally normal today. It's been over 2 and 1/2 days since I ate the mints, then vomited them within 90 minutes. So, Momma called the dogtors' office this morning to ask exactly what they could do for me, depending on the blood test results. The dogtor is supposed to call her back. Momma has decided she'd rather speak in person to the dogtor, since we only live less than a mile away, so she's going to hop in the car and go right up there now and talk to the dogtor in person. She's tired of waiting for phone calls since yesterday they told her I needed to be seen immediately, but then when she didn't have a bunch of cash on hand, the treatment was put off.... *hmmmmmm*
My family and I thank our furiends here on Dogster for your loving support and good wishes. We all know how important Power of the Paw is, and the amazing way it can make miracles happen, and we are very grateful for the love and support we've been getting from our pals here. :)
Mom will be back soon and we'll let you all know what the dogtor says! 'Til then, I'm feeling pretty much like my happy, li'l self and I'll be snuggled up with Teddi Sue and my blankie, sleeping by the nice, warm wood stove! :D
Kissies to all! (and 'specially my Kiko!) Zeldy ♥

Ooooh! There is one thing that made this a super-pawsome Christmas and has put a huge smile on my face and in my heart! My Kiko has let me be his bestest gurl again! He has furgiven me fur being totally crazy and outta my mind and thinking I could ever be happy without him. So, Kiko an; me are back together - FUREVER - and I'll never EVER leave him again!
The part that makes this NOT my bestest Christmas is this....
Last night I snuck in Momma's purse and ate some yummy mints she had in there. I guess it wasn't a very good thing for me to do. I've been feeling really, really sick since I ate those mints and Momma says it's because they have something in them called Xylitol. It's good for humans but really bad for pups.
Momma called the Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Springfield but they told her they couldn't help me unless Momma has money to pay them right now.... and she doesn't. She asked if they could just let her make payments over the next 6 weeks, but they said they "just aren't set up for that". :(
So, Momma read all about Xylitol poisoning and the best she can tell, as far as treatment, is administer glucose by IV. So, I've been eating lots of marshmallows and drinking sugar water. I threw up 11 times last night and only twice today. Momma's going to call Dogtor Nancy, my regular vet, tomorrow, as soon as her office is open, and ask her what we should do. Dogtor Nancy will help me if she can - even if it takes Momma a li'l time to give her lotsa money - 'cuz Dogttor Nancy loves me and she really cares about helping fur babies who really need help. We just hope it isn't too late by then.
Pawlease think good thoughts fur me. And my family and I want to thank all our wunderfur furiends fur the happy woofs and purrs they sent wishing us a Happy Christmas. It's been a ruff year, but having furiends who care makes all the difference. Thanks, everyone! We woof you!

A few months back, I told my sweetheart that I wanted to start dating others. I had been feeling lonely and bored and I thought I'd make a change.
Well, it turns out that making a change wasn't the right thing to do. Sure, I had some fun times, but I realize now that deep down in my heart, I never felt quite right.
I really miss my bestest beau, Kiko, even more now than I did before.
Ya see, sometimes our mommies get busy - they both work alot - and maybe they don't have much time to let us play on Dogster much. Well, sure, I miss Kiko when he doesn't get to come and play, but since I sorta turned away from him, now I don't only miss him - I MISS HIM! My heart feels lonely. It keeps yellin' at me "Hey, Zeldy! You LOVE Kiko! And HE LOVES YOU! And you been LOVIN' EACH OTHER for a looong time!" (Like about 4 years!!)
Matter of fact; my heart belongs to Kiko.
Now, I am beggin' his furgiveness and pawrayin' he still loves me enough to trust me with his heart again.
I was WRONG to turn away from him. My heart will only be happy again when I am loyal and devoted to my Kiko - because I love him. I'll wait furever, if that's what it takes, because I'll never know true happiness anywhere other than with my Kiko.

It's been furever since I've played a game of Tag! Thanks fur including me in the fun, Kiki! *happy dance*
Here goes!
1. Do you ever wake your parent up in the night?
Only once in all my 4 years. I was a couple of weeks ago. I jumped up onto Momma's chest while she was sleeping to let her know I was starting to have a seizure. :(
2. Do you ever tear up things?
Oh, yes! *blushes* I love to chew up napkins, paper towels or any kind of food wrappers! If it's tasty or smells like human food, I tear it up into a million tiny pieces!
3. What is your favorite treat?
Ooooh, that's a ruff one! I'll say chicken or bagel with peanut butter. But there are just sooo many wonderfur yummies in this world...
4. Can you fetch something when asked to do so?
Well, not really. Usually when Momma tells me to get my "dumbbell", I'll go pick it up and wiggle around showing everyone, but that's about it. Divas aren't expected to learn tricks, you know! :)
5. Have you ever lived any place other than where you live now?
Not including the family's house where my fur mom lives - where I was born - I've never lived in a different place. Thank Dog! :D
OK You know what to do next pals!

Dogtor Nancy called Momma today and told her that my bloodwork all looks pawsome! *tail wags furiously* YAY!
She gave me a prescription for Phenobarbitol, which I will take for the rest of my life, to help prevent the seizures - or at least make them happen less frequently and less severely.
Since my blood work didn't show anything wrong with me, we still don't know why I've been having those yucky seizures.
When I was just about 10 weeks old, I went for a ride in our truck with Momma and Daddy. Momma got out of the truck and she turned to pick me up and get me out, but I leaped right past her, out the door, and landed right on my tiny, little noggin, right on the blacktop! :O Momma was horrified! When I landed on the pavement, she heard my my head smack really hard. She scooped me up sooo fast and cuddled me for a minute. Then she set me on the truck seat to inspect me. I was very stunned, she could tell, and I started tillting my head and going in circles, alot like when I have a seizure. My eyes were almost closed, too, and it looked to Momma like I was hurting really bad. It was about the saddest thing Momma has ever seen and she cried hard. She thought I was going to die. She felt terrible and guilty, even though it wasn't her fault. She didn't know I would jump past her so fast like that. Momma is sooo careful with all us furbabies. She is very protective of us. Anyway, after a few minutes, it seemed like I was okay. I did take a little nap, but I was just acting like a normal, little puppy. Momma thanked God for letting me be okay. To this day, I will not jump down out of the car or truck bu myself. I make Momma pick me up and set me down, which is what she would do anyway. Teddi jumps down out of the car and truck, but Momma doesn't like it and she tries to pick her up before she gets a chance to jump.
So, Dogtor Nancy says that that injury, when I was a wee, little girl, could be what the seizures stem from. :( I may have a bit of scar tissue on my brain that causes them. Or, maybe not. We'll probably never know for sure. She said if we were rich, she'd send Mommy and me to Portland for an MRI of my brain to check for a tumor, but we're not, and she highly doubts I have a brain tumor, and that we should just get me started on the meds and keep an eye on me.
So, that's what we're doing! I'm sooo looking forward to being "seizure-free'! *HAPPY DANCE*
Thanks, everywoof and everypurr, for your love and prayers and Power of the Paw. I love you all sooo much! It's just the bestest thing in all the world to have wonderfur furiends who care! :D~

Thank you, HQ! You sure know how to make a grrrl feel special! :D~
And while I have everywoof's attention, I wanted to remind you all to keep voting for Binx everyday!
I noticed that that nice-looking Greyhound is catching up to him! Binx wants to win the $50 gift certificate to help his momma pay for his Dogtor bill. What a good boy, Binx! *HIGH PAW*
So, you can vote once a day, until the end of August, and it's soooo easy! No registration or anything! Just click on the paw above his picture and that's it! GO, BINX!

I got to go see Dogtor Nancy today! I really love her alot! She was kinda mean today, though. :(
First she weighed me! Can you believe I weigh 13.6 pounds! Well, actually, muscle does weigh more than fat and I am pretty buff fur a girl. *nervous giggle* Umm, right? Anyway, then she made me turn around and well, I can't even bear to tell you what she did, but my temperature was normal. *BLUSH* Then, she poked me and took blood out of my neck, then she poked me to give me a vaccination! Howw much is a Diva supposed to put up with and still keep a smile on her face?!!
To top it all off, I didn't even get a treat before she sent me home! :O I always get a treat when I go see Dogtor Nancy! Hmmph! *POUT*
Well, guess what?! Momma gave me a yummy cherry when we got home! And none of my furblings got one! Just me! :D~
Dogtor Nancy's going to call Momma in a couple days, when she gets my bloodwork results, and then she'll know just what to do to help me stop having those yucky seizures. I hope I get to take medicine! Momma always puts it in yummy little treat called a "Pill Pocket" or in a little piece of bagel with peanut butter. YUMMMMM!!!!!
I'm going to go snuggle under my pile of blankies and rest now. I've been through alot today! *sigh*
Kisses and Smoochies, Zeldy - the Buff Diva Princess Kissy Girl! bol!
