Weekend with Kuma!

Mom and I went to the shiba meetup today at Georgetown Dog Park. It was a lot of fun, but it got pretty hot outside even though there was lots of shade. We stayed about an hour and a half. I saw my pal Kuma there and made a new shiba friend named Ella.

Kuma's mom was going to spend the weekend with friends north of Austin and was going to drive back down to San Antonio to board Kuma and then back up to the Austin area. Mom said she could watch him for the weekend. So, guess what? My pal Kuma is spending the weekend with me!

Mom is excited to have two shibas in the house for the weekend and I think it is a lot of fun too! Kuma and I ran around in the backyard and did our shiba zoomies while Yukiko woo wooed at us. Afterwards the three of us got a Groovy Dog Bakery treat. Yummy! Now we are relaxing. I think this is going to be such a fun weekend!

I'm on the trail...

I woke Mom and Dad up at 3am in the morning. I wanted outside, but Dad told Mom not to let me out that there were cats fighting or something in the backyard. Mom had a look out in the backyard with the flashlight and then she called Dad out to look. They made me stay in the house. They said there was a raccoon and the shone the light on it as it wandered around the backyard and eventually scampered up the fence. Once the raccoon was gone they let me out. I could smell it still and I ran around the backyard in all the places it had walked. First opossums in the backyard and now raccoons... it is like wild kingdom here!

Bath Time

Ugh. It happened today pups... the dreaded B-A-T-H. I had been a bit itchy on my feet and legs these last few days so Mom figured a oatmeal shampoo bath would help. She bathed me with the oatmeal shampoo then I got a blueberry facial and she also washed me with the blueberry shampoo along my back so I would smell real nice. She even took a picture of me in the bathtub. I hope that picture doesn't show up one day on my dogster page. I have the sneaky suspicion it will though. The best part of the ordeal was getting out of the bath, getting dried off, and then doing the Shiba 500. That was a lot of fun.

I met Emmitt Smith today!

I really did... I met Emmitt Smith at the Mighty Texas Dog Walk... he was about my size and a 7 year old shiba inu. Mom talked to Emmitt's mom and told her all about the shiba inu meetup group we have. I hope she and Emmitt join. He seemed like a very sweet shiba. I wonder if he can play football?

Roller blading + Shiba Inu = Mom on her butt

Mom had the not so bright idea to go roller blading with me today. I was fascinated by these rolling feet Mom had suddenly and was barking and play bowing at her. So, as she is skating down the driveway she slips backwards and lands right on her butt. She also scraped up the palm of her left hand as she hit the street. I ran towards her and was jumping around. I was ready to go after all. But, she just said a few choice four letter words then took off her roller blades and came back in the house with me. That will teach her next time to listen to that voice in her head that said, "Maybe roller blading with a dog is not such a good idea."

Bunny on the field

I had agility class tonight. Class was ended a few minutes early because there was a rabbit on the field. It must have gotten through the fence somehow. Mom spotted it and told the instructor. Drat... I was hoping for a tasty bunny. The instructor had our parents hold onto us dogs as she tried to get the rabbit off the field. No luck it just hopped around. We dogs barked and made quite the commotion when we spotted that rabbit. The instructor really should have let us dogs help catch the rabbit... what fun that would have been!

I just read my pal Tikka's diary and it looks like she tagged me... so, here goes:

The rules to this game are to put in four of the following and then tag four other pups!

Name four jobs that you've had.

1. Toy tester - I love to play with squeaky toys!
2.Landscape architect - I enjoy 'redecorating' the backyard to my specifications... a hole dug here... a tree chewed there...
3. Entomologist - I examine bugs in the backyard and then unprofessionally eat them.
4. Model - Mom takes lots of pictures of me... I have yet to get a paycheck.

Four places you have lived.
1. With my shiba relatives at Epic Shibas - brother, sister, and mom when I was a puppy in Pearland, TX.
2. Here in San Marcos, TX with Mom, Dad, and my sister Yukiko.
3. I stayed in various hotels on vacations across the country.
4. I visit my grandma's house quite a bit, but I don't live there.

Four places where you have been.
1. Seattle, WA
2. Vancouver, BC
3. San Diego, CA
4. Boulder, CO

Four places you'd rather be.
1. Outside, Outside, Outside!
2. At the dog park
3. PetSmart or Groovy Dog Bakery
4. In the car going somewhere fun

Friends I choose to play tag:
1. Atlas
2. Jackson
3. Mia
4. Kozi

Is this Mom's idea of an April Fool's prank?!

Pups... I don't think I like April Fool's Day. Mom came home from her class and took me to PetSmart... sounds good so far right? Well, she took me back to the grooming salon. Okay, now the trip to PetSmart isn't looking so great. Well, she tells the lady she wants my nails trimmed... Yikes! But, wait there is more... teeth brushed. Ugh! And, anal glands expressed! What?! This was not a good April Fool's Day for me... not good at all!

He's back! Return of the opossum...

I ran around the backyard, sniffing at the fence. I looked up in one of the trees in the backyard as well. Mom was shining the flash light on me and telling me to come inside. Did I listen? Of course not... I could smell him... he was near... the hunt was on. Mom walked out further into the yard and said, "What are you after?" She shone the light up in the one of the trees in the backyard and along the length of the fence and didn't see anything. Then she shone the light onto one of the trees in the pasture behind the fence and there he was... my arch nemesis... Opossum. He was just beyond my reach. I will get you opossum. I will.

I had deer sausage for my treats for agility today. Tasty stuff! I really listened to Mom today in class and did what I was supposed to because I wanted those tasty treats! I had a lot of fun!
