Arrival Story:
Max lived on a farm in the UK for the first 10 months of his life and his owners had to give him up. He went back to the breeder. We were looking for a rescue leo and she rang us to say she had him. She kept him for a month because she couldn't decide if he would be a show dog. We didn't get him until he was 11 months old.

Bio:
Max was completely untrained when we got him - never been on a lead, never been into town, and he raced around the house and yard like an unguided missile.Thought at first we had made a BIG mistake, but after three weeks, with alot of patience and treats, I got him on a headcollar and we started to go walkies. He has had alot of problems because of a firework incident when he was 2 and we nearly didn't manage to get him over here to Canada when we emigrated in August. We nearly rehomed him to a very good home because we thought that noise and the trauma of travelling and getting loaded on to a plane would be too much for him. However, we are glad that we brought him over because he sailed through it all and was absolutely fine. We did have him on drug therapy for 6 months before we left the UK and we believe this helped alot. He is now off the drugs and he is fine. Max is big, hairy, incredibly clumsy and likes to bark and sounds fierce. He has terrified many a postman in his time!
