My husband & I already had one yorkie (she was a daddy's girl). I wanted one of my own so I found this adorable puppy on the internet & decided that she was going to be my birthday present to myself that year so on my birthday my husband, our older yorkie Tinkker Belle & myself drove about 250 miles to get her & then drove 250 miles back home all in 1 day (5 hour trip down & 5 hour trip back). She slept most of the way home.
Bio:
I came to my new home to another one like me Tinkker Belle (Yorkshire Terrier - female - now 13 years old). I drove my sister Tinkker Belle crazy she wasn't used to having other dogs in our house. Almost a year after I came here my Mom & Dad let another dog, Princess (Cocker/Bichon mix - female - now 7 1/2 years old) come to stay for awhile but quess what she never left. I am only 5 days older than Princess. Then 4 years after that my skin sister Janet moved back home & brought her niece dog Selene (Newfoundland - female - now 2 1/2 years old) & her nephew cat Kittie (Maine Coon - male - now 4 years old). I am a Yorkshire Terrier/? mix.

Well I have both the vets where I go stumped. They don't know what to do with me, my blood sugar is still running high. We are going to put me on a prescription dog food for my sensative stomach & my diabetes to see if that helps any. They said that they even have diabetic treats that I can eat. Dr. Theresa & Dr. Michael are going to a conference on Diabetes in 8 days and they are hoping to learn more on how to help me. On Wednesday morning my blood sugar was 588. Thursday is when I saw Dr. Theresa it was in the 400's in the morning & 370's at her office. Meanwhile they did put me on an antibiotic thinking that maybe I have an infection & that is what is keeping my blood sugars elevated. Yesterday my blood sugars were in the 200's both in the morning & evening. This morning it was back up to 544. Well mommy has to go back to work now.

Well today Mommy tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 170 but by this evening it was 494. I hope the vet figures out how to manage my diabetes soon, Mommy is worried abougt the long tern effects of my elevated blood sugar levels. I go back to the vet on Thursday wish me luck.

Well it's now been a month & my blood sugar still isn't regulated. My glucose levels have been running very high. The vet has increased my insulin to 5 units 2 times a day. Mom has made me bloomers to fit over my diapers cuz I'm still having accidents in the house. Before my bloomers I used to get my diapers off without even undoing them. Now I can't get them off with my bloomers on. I kind of look cute with them on. I go back to the vet on Thursday to see how my blood sugars are doing. Mommy is learning how to test my blood herself.
