Bedtime Games

I've got a new routine. When They get ready to go to sleep, I jump up on their bed instead of going to my pad by the bed. I'm learning the difference between the prepositions by and on. I also learned that I can pretend to be asleep or deaf and go really limp like a sack of beans so it's hard to get me off. The other night he finally got up, picked me up all akimbo, and laid me on my pad. Before He was tucked in, I was back up there snuggled between Them. He said something about get off, but I pretended I didn't know what that means; so He had to get up and haul me off again. After the third time, He turned off the light so I couldn't see in the room anymore, so I scratched at my pad, turned around a few times, and plopped down for the night. Humph! Maybe I'll get to stay up on Their bed tonight...

Bear News

There's a bear in our back yard! See the picture of me protecting my family from it? That's me on the left; the bear is on the right. Fierce, huh? It must have been paralized with fear when it heard me bark because it didn't move at all. When all was safe, I went back to the Nylabone battle field against Django. (His diary will tell you some things about the Nylabone wars, some of it true.) I was so worked up about the bear that Django ended up with the Nylabone. There is a picture of us in the middle of a major battle above the bear picture.

Happy

I'm happy, happy, happy. Nothing in particular....just happy. Always happy. Happy that He walked out of the kitchen for 5 seconds so I could grab the top slice off his sandwich and run to the livingroom before he discovered it was gone. Happy that I got on their bed and napped for 15 minutes before She caught me. Happy that Django (see his site) taught me to bark at anyone who comes to the front of the house. Happy to see Them in the morning, in the afternoon, anytime they've been gone for more than 20 minutes. Happy to sleep by the side of Their bed on a thin pad, flat on my back, belly up. If anyone ever tells you that animals don't do things for the pleasure of the experience--or that animals don't experience emotions like happiness--tell them that they should come and watch me for a while. I'll show them happy.
