Arrival Story: let's see. i always wanted a dog. my brother has a shi tzu, Emma will turn 17 and a very loving dog. one day i decided to get a dog and looked to adopt a shi tzu locally. but there were none locally that appeal to me. a co-worker recommended a local store, that specialized in small breeds. she also has two shi tzus at home. i didn't have a lot of money and was afraid that shi tzus at the store will be out of my price range. so carefully i called them and was told that puppies started at $600 and went up $1200. i was discouraged and still asked if they had any that were less. to my joy, they told me of a girl shi tzu puppy that was only $450. i told them, "hold that dog!" i went after work, and there she was in a cage with another shi tzu girl. but i saw her and she looked so small, helpless and color of a anchovy... it was love at first sight. i've called my niece and my brother. they came and approved. she was a true shi tzu princess. she was a parti girl, mostly brown and black and only 12 weeks. suzy Q had all her shots, started potty training and the shop wanted to make room for new dogs coming in next day.
so i took suzy Q home.
the doctor proclaimed her in the best health, when she got her shots two weeks later. he kissed her, played with her and said, that she was the cutest, sweetest puppy.
anyway, the groomer gave us a first cut, she said and did the same thing... after i realized, that suzy Q is not the same dog they sold me. she's mostly champagne with brown spine and black tinged ears.
well, that's changing still. she's turning more silver on top.
Bio: suzy Q is loved by everyone that sees her.
she's got her license, turned 9 months, got registration with a gold seal and now allowed to go out in the park to do her business. Ms Jeckyl/ms Hyde. calmest dog outside of the house. non-barker. inside the house, barker, crazy lunatic at times. since learning how to jump, constantly has to be ordered off the bed. now, wakes in me by sneezing in my face and licking/kissing... now, that she's gone into heat, very temperemental and wants constant attention.
Forums Motto: I'M UNFORGETTABLE AND BRILLIANT. SAYS MA
Past History: well, i've learned through PetshopPuppies.Com, that Suzy Q is puppymill puppy. this does not change anything. i would love her just as much, as she was champion-sired puppy, as she is very precious to me. it means, i can spoil her more. that means, she had hard upbringing and i'm happy to have her in my life. after all, i've had her since she was day shy of 12 weeks and cherished her from that day to forever; for whatever long we will be together. i'm glad, she's my puppy. best, sweetest doggy.
NEW TRICK!!!: I've learned whole two new tricks. trick one, i know how to jump on mom's bed and make a pest of myself. trick two, i now know how to until shoelaces. mom comes home, i tug at her shoelaces untill they're untied. then i attack the shoes, once mom taken them off.... grr...
mommy got a camera for her birthday and she's driving me nuts. she tries to catch me doing "my life".
please, take it away...
i'm begging, don't look at pictures or videos.
it's not my fault, that i'm beautiful and smart.
oh, heck.... if it makes her happy, i'll suffer.
A day after Christmas.
I’m sick today. Mommy had to take me to the dogtor to see what was wrong with me. Yesterday mom was cleaning and I was constantly underfoot. She saw me eating something, by the time she caught up to me I was done.
This morning, when she got up I wasn’t in bed with her, nibbling on her toes to wake her. I was in the living room, lying on my sleeping bag, sleeping. That was unusual. I’m the kind of pup that bounces off the walls in the morning making sure mom is up and takes care of me before she goes to work. Mom proceeded with her day. She put food out for me and I went to eat. Later mom followed me around, because I was acting weird. I missed the pad, I was slow and lethargic. I walked into the bedroom corridor and pooped again, wetly. Then I threw up, three times. It was already 7:30am. Mom was getting worried. She called her job to tell them, that I’m sick and probably have to the dogtor.
Mom spoke with my furless aunt and niece. They suggested, mom should see how I progressed and call the vet anyway. The vet was not in until 9am.
I was not feeling better and did not eat chicken broth with rice—that usually settles my stomach. At 9am nurse told mom pepto bismol me or bring me in. I drank some water, but was still mopping and lethargic. At 10am we went to the vet. The dogtor finally saw me; gave me a full exam; listened to my tummy and weighed me. I’m still almost 15 pounds. I didn’t have a temperature or infection. I had gastro-intestinal distress. He gave me a shot. I was a good girl. Dogtor gave mom medicines for me to take and told mom to feed me chicken and rice with a little broth. Mom got a note for her job.
I was definitely feeling better by the time we got home. Mom called her job and told them how sick I’m. My furless uncle got a report and promised to help mom with me.
Mom fed me and I ate. By 3pm, I was back to being myself. I would not take the nasty medicine from the syringe. Mom did manage to give me a pill in chicken….
Tomorrow morning, mom will see. If I’m still sick, my furless uncle will come and look after me. It's midhight almost, i ran around and played with mom. now i'm sleeping.
