A Day at the Park

OK......I had just the best day Thursday!! Mom took Molly, Brandi and I to Simkins Park and we got to run on the GRASS!!! It was just awesome!! We ran and we rolled....Nothing like the feel of grass under your paws!!

And then we checked out the Jungle Jim! That was something very different... Mom had that look in her eye like she wanted us to pose... which was OK with me...I love posing... But if she thought I was gonna slide down that slide.....!!!!

Tomorrow is my sweet Casey's 10th Birthday....

This is my Tail of Devotion and Thanks for Casey on his special day….

Casey stole my heart from the first moment he arrived in our life! He was shy. He was goofy. And he was the cutest puppy in the world. All I had to do is look him in the eyes and I knew I was going to have a wonderful day!

Two weeks after Casey became one of the most important things in my life….he had his first seizure. My life was forever changed that day.

We took him to the Vet and after an extensive examination and tests…we were told that Casey had a blockage in his heart and he would probably not live more than 3 years. I was devastated.

He had one more seizure 2 weeks after the first…and then nothing for about 6 years. But the thought of the blockage in his heart weighed on my mind every minute of every day.

Every year when he would go for his Ultrasound…the blockage seemed to get a little bigger…and my heart would be a little sadder. And there has not been a day gone by…that I do not think of this. Every morning I wake up and I thank God for my precious boy and ask Him to keep Casey healthy and strong for many more years.

Then when Casey turned 6 years old the seizures started again…and got continually worse over the course of a year or so…until he was having sometimes 2 seizures a week. Everytime he had a seizure…my heart just broke. He was so helpless and he had this look on his face like…”Mom..please help me”…and there was nothing I could do but hold his head in my hands and pet him until it passed. He has been on Phenobarbitol now for 4 years and thank God…is no longer having seizures for the moment.

We went to the Vet for his bloodwork this past week before his birthday…and his blood is perfect and they said his heart “murmur” does not seem to have gotten any worse in 2 years….which is the best birthday present I could ever have received.

Every day we have with our precious Casey is a true blessing.

He is my “cuddle” dog….
He listens when I need to talk…
He makes me smile when I am sad….

He completes my life….

He is more than my dog…He is my Heart and Soul…My Angel on Earth.

January 20, 2008 Giants vs. Green Bay

Wow! What a day! Giants won their Championship game over Green Bay! What a great game. We are just soooo excited! Our Giants are in the Superbowl for the first time in a long time..! We just wanted to thank Lucy and Nick and the Golden Retriever and Labrador Retriever Lovers group for the best tailgate party ever! We had such a wonderful time - all week! And the food was just awesome. Jayke - you are such a good cook! And everyone else who brought all that scrumptious food...I think I gained 5 pounds this week. And I've never had such delicious Dogritas before...gotta make them again for the Superbowl Celebration Party! Anyway...thanks to all our wonderful pup friends for being there to cheer on our team...and all the other teams...and just having such a fun day! Wiggles, Casey

We have a great line of Pawprint earrings for all Mom's dogster friends and we also have a great NEW line of Necklaces for us dogster pups and cats! Mom just made one for me the other day and I love it!

February, 2007 in Pahrump

Well - my brother and sister and I have been in our new home in Pahrump, Nevada for 1 year now. I have to say it is a LOT different than our previous home in New Jersey. I have to say..we miss the snow..but for the most part we like it a lot better. The sun is always out - so we get to play ball and run around our big backyard all day if we want. Mom plays ball with us a couple of times and day and we usually go for walks too in the afternoon. We have made lots of friends in the neighborhood -- and we "talk" to each other over the fence! Mom and Dad and Leo and Molly and me have seen lots of great places since we have moved here....Death Valley, Mt. Charleston, Spring Mountain...and of course we love going for rides with Mom and Dad! Springtime is almost here...

Our first Summer in Our New House

Me and my brother Leo and my sister Molly are just lovin' life. We love sitting on our patio and and watching the quails and other birds land in our backyard and when they least expect it...zoom...we are right on their tail feathers!! We never catch them...but it's lots of fun to try! We also have our new swimming pool and our Mom and Dad are teaching us to swim! I'm still a little afraid when I first get in...but then it gets a little easier and Mom is always hanging on tight to me when I'm swimming. And then I walk right up the steps and out of the pool all by myself. And boy I'm I nice and cool after that....feels great! Especially on those days when the temps reach in the triple digits. But on those days we only get to go out for a few minutes at a time and then Mom brings us right back in the house. Mom is home with us all the time now..and boy do we love that! She plays with us all day -- and we are learning all new tricks...how to hide and seek...lots of fun stuff!

Moving to our new home!

Hey everybody! Just wanted to let you know that my brother Leo and my sister Molly and I just moved to Pahrump, Nevada. We are finally in our new home which is just gorgeous and soon will have our backyard all fenced in so we can run around and play ball again. We left our home in NJ in October and we lived in our RV for 4 months til this week. Mom and Dad took us to the park here in Pahrump every day to play ball and we did lots of walking around this beautiful lake we were near -- but nothing is as nice as your own backyard!! So far it seems like we have lots of puppy pals in the neighborhood, but haven't actually met them yet! Can't wait to make all new friends! And we just love meeting all new friends on Dogster too!

Casey's Profile

Casey was born on January 9, 1999 in New Jersey and came to be a part of our family in March. He is the second Golden baby in our home -- 2 months younger than his brother Leo. He is the most sensitive, loving pup in the world. He is our special child.

Casey is a Therapy Dog and he just loves visiting with his friends in the nursing home here in town....and they absolutely LOVE him! Casey's biggest joy in life is chasing his ball. He could play ball all day! He also loves going for walks...and loves meeting all the other pups in the neighborhood. Casey has been out to Nevada two times with us now in our RV and he is the perfect travelling companion.

Casey will be moving to Nevada the end of this year and moving into his new home near Las Vegas with his brother and sister (Leo and Molly)....and we can't wait!!

He is truly a PERFECT PUPPY!
