This is going to be a pretty busy week, according to the- furless ones.

They need to order a turkey, but it's for after Thanksgiving! They need to figure out the stuff they are taking to Auntie M's and then make it. I get to go have my nails trimmed. Since I am a big baby dog, that means going to the vet for the nail job, as I get freaked out when we try having the PetCo people do it.
Since Mombot doesn't have to work, there will be extra trips to the dog park, so I can stay in good shape.
I also heard that the furless ones are planning to go see a funny movie today. They said I cannot go, however, as the theatres don't let dogs in. That's lame.
I'm going to have a quick nap before we go back to Maggie Dog Park. See ya.

When we returned to Maggie Dog Park this afternoon, I got a good run in chasing my Cuz ball, since Bri-guy was there to throw it. Then we went down to the beach and guess who was there! My sister Sadie and her grandmom's GSP, Brandy. Her mom didn't know that my furless ones' first GSP was Brandy. There are so many coincidences! I also got my nails clipped. I was trying to bust out of the vet's office when we were waiting. If I jump and push against the doors I can get them to open and Mombot has to brace herself so I don't take off. I absolutely hate getting my nails done, because it kind of hurts when they get close to the "quick." I have long quicks, I guess. But that's over for a while.
Then, just as they had said, the furless ones went to see the funny movie. Mombot liked it better than Dad, though. Then they had Indian food and came back and Dad took me out for a little hood walk. I was actually thinking we should go for more than that, but you know Dad!

Another stormy day!

This morning it was raining a lot when I went to the dog park, so I didn't spend much time chasing my Cuz ball. Beans was there in a snazzy raincoat with a sidepocket! Later, when I called to see if my girl was ready to meet us at the park, I found out that some dufus did a hit and run on her car when she parked it to go running. Mombot told her she needed to call the cops, even though there is next to no chance they will ever find the culprit. So my girl was stuck waiting for them and we went to the park without her. The rain had abated, so that was good. We ran into this Manchester terrier that I had seen up on the grassy field before. She is a lot of fun. I did some play-bowing and I chased her, instead of getting chased. I am not ususally the chaser dog, but I needed to get some energy out. It was so fun in the slippery, wet grass! When we got home, we found out that the cops still haven't gone to the girl's place to take their report. Hmmm. I hope they get there in time for her to come over for dinner.

Oooo! Seagulls!

Since it was Monday, we went to the top of Kite Hill at the park. There were maybe two dozen seagulls doing the coolest drifting on the wind currents. They were swirling and turning and circling not too far above us. Some were young ones. Mombot sometimes has seagulls perching on her window sill downtown. And she used to know a cook who would feed a certain seagull hard boiled eggs. Weird, if you ask me, that they would even think about eating eggs!
We had some sun and then there was--yeah, it's right on the tip of my tongue--that's right, it's called rain! Ha! Ha! That word keeps working its way into just about every conversation in Seattle. We've already had more than a furless foot of rain this month, and no one is turning off the faucet.

I am blushing so hard that you can see it through my short- hair!

A secret someone seems to have been by my site and left barrels of bones! I have tried to eat them, but must admit that there are so many I haven't made a dent in the pile! Thank you! Thank you, SBF (Secret Bone Fairy)! (Actually, I think I know who it is! Blush!)
It is really windy today. This morning Mombot and I took Dad to work and it was raining really hard and so dark. ( We dropped him off around 7 a.m.) Then we dipped down the hill and went to Maggie to see what was up. Nothing. There were only a very few dogs out in the driving rain, but it was still fun. Mombot discovered that the path is almost completely flooded in several places. Thanks, soccer field engineers. The drainage should go in the other direction.
Then Mombot had to take the girl's car to get a repair estimate due to that miscreant who did the hit and run at Green Lake. When she got home we were in the midst of a huge bunch of wind. It's pretty scary, cause the neighbors have an enormous pine tree with two trunks that dips and bows and swirls in the wind. Sometimes it looks like it might topple over and that would be really bad.
And I'm off with my dog walker for some more fun. The dogs in his van were howling and barking and crooning and acting so silly when they were waiting for me to get on his leash. I felt quite welcomed.
Have a great day! I just found a turkey in our reefer. I need to look at some cookbooks now.

Lightning!

When my dog walker brought me home, he and Mombot were talking about how weird the sky looked to the west. It was an eerie shade of dull grey. I was happy to be home because my feet were kind of cold. Then all of a sudden there was the biggest boom! And then it flashed light! I went in with Mombot--thank dogness she took the whole week off from work!--and I got on the computer chair with her. Then all of a sudden there was a huge flash of light in the hallway and ka-b-o-o-m!! More lightning. Mombot and I went to see if the trees were still standing, cause it sounded like it might have gone right into one of them. Whew! They were all there and okay. And it was pouring cold, cold rain.
When Mombot looked at the tv news website there was a picture of the Space Needle and a building downtown getting zapped by lightning! It was so outrageous! I was glad I wasn't at the park when all of that wildness was going on.
I'm going to take the furless ones out for just one after-dinner walk, then I'm getting on the couch and curling up with My Pet Goat. I heard it was a pretty interesting book--the Prez. was reading it upside down. I guess the book was upside down--not the Prez.

I just finished having some crusts from toasted cheese on- muffins.

Yum! I also saw Mombot clearing off some space to start cooking, but she said we have to wait till after we return from the park.
This morning we got to the park really early. Hardly anyone was around, but I did see another GSP. Then I saw Walter on the way out! Walter is a GSP who looks a lot like me, but he's a lot bigger. He lives near our house and his furless ones got him because they had seen my furless ones walking Brandy and me in the hood for years. Some people can't tell us apart--which I think is pretty funny. I'm the girl! Walter's peeps have been known to tell people that he is the better looking of the two of us! Hmmph!
Mombot told me we have Dogster Plus now. I am really excited and know that I have to get the furless ones to take a lot of pictures of me--and maybe they should ask Santa Paws to bring them a video cam. I'm ready to be a film star.

No Turkey!!!

I didn't get any turkey today! They baked a couple of pies, made some weird red sauce out of hard berries and went to Auntie M's after feeding me regular old kibble.
I fell asleep, they were gone so long. Then they came home around our ususal bedtime, put a bunch of stuff in containers, Dad took me for a short hood walk and that's it.
I don't understand it, but I'm going to investigate more tomorrow.
Happy Thanksgiving to all! (Now I know better than to call it Turkey Day.)

Still no turkey.

I think Dad has even forgotten about the package in the reefer. Silly Dad. I haven't forgotten about it.
When I went to the park this afternoon I got nipped by that rascal Reuben. He was acting really wild and had been wallowing in the wet grass. We chased some which was lots of fun, but then the little blighter nipped me. I found some little kibbles that someone dropped, and that helped me forget about the nipping.
Dad recycled a bunch of his old computer stuff, so now there is more space in the computer room. I might ask someone to put one of my dog beds in there. Then Mombot and I would not have to battle over the chair.

Now we're talking!

Yes, after we got back from Maggie this afternoon--with a short stop at the grocery store--Mombot got the big package out of the reefer. Then she opened it and started washing and scrubbing the bird that was lying inside the package. Then she put some "aromatics," in it--that's just a fancy way of saying some cut-up veggies. Then she popped it into the oven. Once she opened the oven to see whether the bird was still there--and I am here to tell you: that thing smells s-o-o-o good.
I must be patient. I must be good. I must lavish attention on the furless ones. I must not let them out of my sight.
I have waited extra days for this feast and I'm not going to take any chances.
