Update on Tink

As of December 15,2006 I officially became a Filipino citizen.Mom brought me with her when she went home and the whole family fell in love with me including her sister'd pet Fishnet..ehem...ehemmm...

I am loving all the attention I am getting here.I am never left alone.I am fed with all the greatest food any pet can ever dreamed of.

And the greatest happiness Ive ever had was when I delivered my first baby.I gave birth April 1,2007.Mom said I was too young to give birth.But it happened so fast and now I am a proud mom to Sharkie...They named him Sharkie..My mom's sister, is the new mom to Sharkie.We will all be under one roof anyhow so it will be so much fun..

Preparing for a long trip

Mommy is a traveler nurse so that means Im gonna be a traveler pup!Yipee!

"Our" next assignment will be in Sunny Florida and as of this time we are busy packing up our stuff.Most of them are mommy's stuff.Clothes and shoes and all of her scrapbooking goodies.Yes,my mom was into scrapbooking.She was hoping she was gonna do a lot of layouts featuring me and Koda but she got so hooked into just playing with us and taking care of us instead.Or actually she couldnt afford to find time for that coz she works 5days a week on top of taking care of us.Apparently,she is used to just working 3x a week for 12 hours each.Mom loves her job but it's too stressful that 5x a week is too much most of the times.She works in a cardiac floor that's why.

Anyway,we are excited about the trip heading south.Mom made sure that she told her agency that she needs a pet-friendly apartment preferrably on the 1st floor if it's a multi story building.Coz,even if we live in a pet-friendly apartment as of this writing here in her current asignment,our neighbor downstairs just under us is not really pet-friendly.Cos she's annoyed by our tinypaws running around the house.She doesnt have any pets.She doesnt have any company actually and she is the only one in the building who doesnt have any pet.May be a bit of an exaggeration but she's the only one in the community who isnt own by a pet mom thinks.

But mom wants to be friendly as ever so she would usually just keep us in our crates everytime we misbehave.Actually,our friendly neighbor was away for a good two weeks i think so we had some grand time running around the house even in the wee hours of the morning.Mom is still a night owl cos she is really a night shift nurse.Only for this assignment that she accepted an evening shift(3pm to 11pm).

We are shipping most our stuff so we could have a smooth sailing and light ride.She wanna travel light as much as possible.Just with us plus the most important stuff among her stuff.

So we will be a little bit busy cos i wanna make sure too that she remembers where she puts my favorite toys and all my other essentials.Ive got tons too huh?My brush,my clothes,my health records,my cologne,my tushie wipes,my blower,treats,towels,toys and of course my favorite carrier from petflys.They have very nice and such comfy carriers.i know that once mom opens it up for me,i would just simply hop in coz for sure we are heading for so much fun once im inside my carrier.Actually,my new carrier is such a comfy place to sleep too!So i have no trouble riding our van.My carrier surely feels like home to me.

We are getting a carrier for Koda too once mommy will have the budget again.It's a little bit expensive but mom says it's worth it so we are gonna save money for Koda's.

Second Week @ My Puppy Class

Had my 2nd puppy class last Wednesday and mommy was so happy coz i learned how to "SIT" that day.Even if I was actually sitting because of the treat that I was gonna get from her,she was very happy."I am one smart puppy" as she keeps on telling me.I can tell she is so proud of me.I had been practicing even @ home too.And I had another classmate who didnt make it to the 2nd class by the way,i heard that it was because she hasnt had her rabies vaccine yet since she is still too young apparently....*sigh*.

And we are patiently waiting for a cool pet carrier for me that my mom ordered online.It was the coolest pet carrier ever!I am so excited.I believe that if my mom likes it,she might order another one for Koda too.

We are busy preparing for Koda's arrival on Saturday.Actually,mom is gonna pick him up on Saturday.I thought she was gonna bring me with her when she picks me up but I can sense that mom is thinking twice.First of all,is because of the length of trip.It's gonna be a 6 hour drive from our place..I would beg to disagree actually coz she was planning to bring me home to the Philippines so i think that it is but a good idea actually for me to get used to being on long trips dont you think?But second reason why she was thinking twice I guess is because of the weather.It all depends on the weather I believe plus it also depends on my mom's mood come Saturday a.m.

So I will just have to wait and see...

My 1st Puppy Class.

Mom and I had our first puppy training class together and we were so excited.Ive met two dogs that were twice as much as my size but they are younger than I am.MOm said they belong to the large breed of dogs so i gotta behave.I was behaved but i couldnt help to be friendly coz it's my nature to be friendly and playful.

It was not really clear to me as to what the instructor was teaching my mom coz I was so distracted and excited at the same time with the presence of other dogs around so I really dont know if I did well in class or not.I remember that they were talking about the use of the "clicker". But to my surprise,...I was hearing a lot of "click" left and right so i had a little bit of trouble with that ok?!?I had some confusion there so i had a hard time focusing to my mom's command of course. But all i know is that everytime I heard that click, I got some yummy goodies.So that "click" is something good yes!

Anyway,next week they will teach us how to SIT apparently...Wait a minute...Of course I know how to SIT..It's a matter of how my mom is gonna learn on how to give me that command so i will know and understand that she wants me to SIT.After all,the reason why I was there was because she wants me to be an obedient puppy or dog.

P.S. Im excited about the arrival of *Koda*...I am gonna go with my mom when she picks him up on October 7.It's gonna be a long ride she said that's why lately, she's been tagging me along for a lot of short rides so i will get used to riding her van...ehemmm...our van i mean.

My 1st trip to PetSmart

Yesterday was my very first trip to PetSmart.Mommy finally brought me to PetSmart coz I have been very good lately with my pottytraining.Mommy finally noticed that i can already hold my "pee" for a reasonable amount of time.And so she decided she was gonna take me out for a shopping.She said she's gonna buy me a dress.Turned out that she set me up with an appointment with the groomer in PetSmart.I really didnt like it at first but it felt good in the end.And besides I knew I was gonna get lots of hugs and kisses again from my mommy...But guess what,I got more than that coz a lot of the people who were doing some shopping with their dogs had noticed me too and they cant help but to pet me and tell my mom how beautiful my blue eyes were.That seems to be what people admire about me the most aside from my very pretty coat of course.Ive met a lot of dogs too.Some were puppies who were just as friendly as me.Some were not that friendly though.Some were big and mommy had to pull me coz I aint not scared of them.I had to greet everyone with a kiss but mom said I cant do that to everyone coz not all dogs would like it especially the big ones.They might hurt me without really knowing it.

Anyway,i tried on hundreds of clothes maybe.Some were nice some were tight.Some were big.It took her a while before she decided.She bought two for me coz I looked so irresistably cute in either of them.

My day didnt end there coz we also went to a party.Just a few guests my mom said but everyone there kept on petting me and carrying me all over the place.I was a little bit scared but I know my mom was just around the corner somewhere.The people there were nice though.Everone there love me and my mom was so proud of me.It's a good thing we stopped by at the groomer I think.

And I believe that mom is gonna take me there regularly she said.I dont know how regular though.

We are posting a picture of me with my very 1st dress.This is my 1st dress and mom had a very hard time trying to catch me for a good shot.

We went shopping!!!

Mom had a day off again and I got so excited she took me with her.I had a good bath first of course and I believe I am getting used to it.I was so happy even though I had to stay inside my crate.But the trip had gotten longer and longer, turns out that mom wanted to go to a Factory Outlet Mall which is 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from our home.

And then I was feeling the urge to pee and poop!I was giving mom some signal by making some soft silent cry which she understood right away.We had to pull over at a nearby park and did a short walk just enough for me to do my "business".The trip then resumed.

Shortly before we arrived at the mall though...I was so nauseated while we were at the highway.I couldnt hold it any longer and I ended up vomiting.

Mom had to clean up my mess.Mom said "it's okay but i think next time im not gonna feed you about 3 to 4 hours before a trip".

And then she told me that she is gonna tag me along again tomorrow so I will get use to trips since we are apparently going on a long trip away from my home.We are going to the Philippines she said."How far is that?!?" i wonder but mom couldnt give me a definite answer..all she said was I am gonna meet another cutie dog over there by the name of "Fishnet".I think he is in here at Dogster too but he hasnt accepted our invitation yet to be his pup pal?

Why is that,Fishnet?Give your mom a wag of a tail and tell her to accept our invitation.

am getting a playmate.

My mommy thought it would be cool to have another shih tzu in the house so she spent several days again searching for a chocolaate colored shih tzu and found "Bacca" from a breeder's website located in New York.

She sent them an email and for a while they had been exchanging emails.My mommy was choosing between two solid colored puppies which Ive heard are a solid chocolate and a dark chocolate color.She chose the solid chocolate color.He must be really so cute since my mom chose him over the other one.The one she chose to be my playmate costs a little bit more than the other one but my mom didnt care.She just wants to have another shih tzu who can be my playmate as well.She kept on saying that I am a living example of the saying "Shih Tzus are like potato chips,you cant have just one!"

So earlier today I heard my mom talking to the breeder and I believe that she was being interviewed by the breeder.Heard my mom telling the breeder a little something about herself.Then of course,my mom had the chance to interview the breeder as well.She asked him if we can see the parents of the puppy that WE are going to pick up sometime after Sept 22.And yes we are goign to meet the parents too!Boy,he must be young I bet.

Well,its been a while now that we had been looking for a puppy.We actually found one from Memphis Tennessee and I thought we are gonna pick up that puppy at the airport coz I overheard them talking about shipping too.My mom would have really wanted that chocolate colored female shih tzu not only because of her color but also because that puppy has the same birthday as hers.It didnt materialize only because the breeder doesnt want any other forms of payment except check or money order.Well,mom doesnt want that.She wants to pay via Paypal or PuppyEscrow she said.And so the search continued and that was when she chanced upon this breeder's website that is located in NY.And turns out to be for the better since I am gonna go with my mom when she picks up "Bacca".

We are going to name him "Koda" by the way,adapted from the movie "Brother Bear".She picked the cute name since my mom's real daughter named Aubrey loves that movie so much.Aubrey watched that movie a hundred times apparently and she adores Koda,the baby bear in the movie so much.

WhileI have to mention too that my name *Tink* has a special importance too because I am named after my Mom's favorite Disney character TinkerBell of course.

Isnt that cute?I am just as excited as my mom.

Rest Day with my Mommy

My mommy didnt work yesterday so i spent the entire day being with her.She did her laundry first and then gave me a very refreshing good bath.Afterwards,she blow dried my very soft and beautiful coat.My hair was brushed to my mommy's heart's delight as she is so fond of my coat.Mommy thought I was so cute and cuddly she then splash bits of cologne so she could hug me all the more.It didnt end there as she couldnt help resisting my cute face with the look of my warm comforting eyes,she put on a flower bow on my hair!I didn't like it to tell you the truth...Mommy had a hard time putting that on me but she succeeded.And then mommy was so happy i couldnt forget the look in her eyes..she was so happy seeing me with that thing on top of my head...I kept on hearing the words "the cutest thing"while I was wearing that thing.And then she grabbed her red bag where she keeps her camera.She took lots of pictures of me .I felt like I was modeling for a "cosmopolitan" magazine.And indeed I can tell by the look of her face and by the sound of her voice that she was so happy to see those pictures she took.We are actually sharing one of my pics to the public she decided it's a better photo for my profile here @ Dogster.

I am so excited upon stumbling upon this site.I am pretty sure i will get to meet a lot of dogs here as well as infos and anything under the sun about dogs.

*Tink* is my first dog ever.After very careful study of a lot of small breeds which includes bichon frise,maltese,lhasa apso and havanese,Ive decided that the shih tzu is the one for me.Then came the search over the internet.

It seemed like an endless search for me as I was making inquiries thru email and even phone calls left and right.There were some who wouldn't return my phone call or email once I asked for more pictures.There is someone even who didn't accept my payment thru puppyescrow.com.I just felt that should i buy a puppy online I might as welldo it the safe way for me that's why I was requesting for the transaction to be through puppyescrow but i guess she didn't like it.But whatever,i knew then that the right pup is somewhere waiting for me.

I found Tink @ Metro Puppy in New York.The moment I saw her I just knew she was gonna be mine.She too knew she was gonna go home with me.There was this Shih Tzu beside her who was jumping all over me trying to catch my attention and beside that dog was Tink who was just giving me that confident look in her eyes and you can tell I was smitten by her charm that minute.I just knew right there and then that I was gonna take her home.

And i signed her out!Signing of the papers and buying her the basic stuff right there at the place where I got her came next.I spent about an hour or two probably and it was really so cute of her when she went close to her "old friends" and then she looked at me and then came running towards me unto my lap.It's like a puppy language of her telling the other puppies how happy she was that she was gonna go home with somebody like me finally.It was like a goodbye thing among them..Sounds crazy but seeing it in person was unbelievable.These dogs are so intelligent and funny.

I am hoping to spend a lot of years with my shih tzu.
