Arrival Story: Oliver was adopted from a poodle rescue shelter, he was 1 y/o when we adopted him. Phoebe was adopted from someone who no longer wanted her, she was 8 mos. old.

Bio: Our story is long but there are two of us. Almost two months to the day after my mom's last little poodle-boy went to heaven; she secretly went to the poodle rescue shelter to look for another poodle boy - me, Oliver. When she met me she thought I was kind of big; she was used to toy poodles but she fell in love with me. I know she did because when the shelter lady let me out of the kennel I ran around like a crazy dog, in big circles then I disappeared behind a shed, I came out running as fast as I could towards my mom, she squatted down and put her arms out to pick me up, I was running so fast that some how I ran up her leg; she caught me and held me, our noses touched and I gave her a little bitty kiss right on the tip of her nose. She LOL and we stared at each other for a few seconds and then she hugged me real tight and kissed me. When she left I was really sad because she didn't take me with her but she came back the next day so my dad could "just" meet me (that's what he thought). He didn't want me or any other pet at all but I changed his mind just being sweet ol' me. Mom wrote a check and told the kennel lady that she would be back for me tomorrow only because they had plans and didn't want to leave me at home alone. The very next day (Saturday) my mom and dad picked me up; dad carried me out to our vehicle I was so happy at last! It was the best! They took me to PetsMart and bought me all kinds of new stuff then they took me home and bathed me, I felt so fresh, then they fed me, oh my goodness my food was so yummy; it didn't smell like saw dust and neither did I. Dad put some cologne on me, OMG, I smelled as handsome as I felt! I took a nap and had happy dreams; mom said I was whimpering during my nap. I guess I was so very happy and grateful that I was dreaming about it. A few months later, four to be exact after I was feeling very spoiled and loved and I was loving every minute of it including my new home and family; my dad of all people thought we should get another poodle so I would have some company, he wanted a girl poodle. That's where my sister Phoebe comes in. Mom checked all the shelters in town and put her name on every list but no one ever called. Then one Friday morning mom checked our local newspaper and found a poodle-girl but she had already been adopted (or had she?). That next day (Saturday) mom pouted all morning but for some funny reason she decided to call the newspaper ad one more time. The woman mom had talked to said they didn't want her after all because she was too small and that she had been calling us all morning and basically said COME GET HER! Turns out she had been calling mom's phone number at work; she must have left about 10 messages and they all said "are you coming to get this dog? I wish you would come today". Mom was so happy! She grabbed me and her purse, she put me in my car seat and put the pedal to the metal and we were off to get my sister Phoebe. My dad didn't go with us because he was out on his boat doing a Christmas toy run for needy children, it was late November. We met and visited with Ms. 10 messages for a few minutes, she gave us Phoebe's things and walked us out to our vehicle. Mom put me in my seat and all of a sudden everyone was crying, Phoebe was hanging on to her soon to be x-mom who started the whole crying-fest. Poor Ms. 10 messages all she could say was take her, mom leaned down to hug her and assure her that Phoebe would be very well taken care of (I didn't mention that Ms. 10 Msgs was wheelchair bound). By this time mom had to pry Phoebe from her arms, and poor little Phoebe was crying like nobody's business which made mom cry more. I was afraid to make a peep and I assure you I didn't. As we drove off mom couldn't see to drive because of her tears and poor Phoebe cried all the way home (40 miles) and me I was just being a good boy as usual. I was scared though. We got home and got situated, mom bought us both a new toy, we played and had lots of fun. I taught Phoebe how to run up and down the stairs, chase me around and wrestle with me, we had so much fun, maybe dad was right. Now three years later Phoebe does everything I do, she's very bossy though sometimes. She follows mom everywhere; mom says it's because she had three homes before she was 8 months old, that's when we got her so this is Phoebe's fourth home. Phoebe and I don't have to worry anymore we are both home for good! We have the best mom and dad; they take really good care of us and love us a lot! We have all kinds of clothes, hats, sunglasses and lots of toys and Phoebe has lots of bows for her hair, she always looks perti-ful; thats what mom tells her. Our dad calls me his little buddy; he calls Phoebe high maintenance but he loves her a lot and she always makes him smile and mom reminds him all the time that he wanted a girl! Phoebe and I are very close there is no way we can ever be separated. I like to play outside in our backyard or sit in a lawn chair with dad in our driveway when I'm not wrestling Phoebe and she likes to be with mom in the house or sitting on mom's lap when mom comes out to be with us. I'm a momma's boy and very proud of it and of course Phoebe is a daddy's girl and a momma's girl too! I forgot to say Phoebe is very shy, but not me! One more thing, mom says I look at her like she's steak and she says she knows I love her! I do!
Doggie kisses, Oliver & Phoebe!
