My Second RainBow Bridge Day Today

I went to the Rainbow Bridge on July 23, 2011 at 3:23 PM.

Today, Mom and Pretty Cassandra remembers me and all pups who helped our family cope with my crossover.

I am at the Rainbow Bridge playing with all my Dogster Angel Pups.

I am happy and healthy, and waiting for my Mom to join me one day.

I am her stairway to Heaven...

My Groomer Marit said hello!

Mom was at Trader Joe's with Cassandra when someone said, "Hi." It happened to be Marit, my groomer. Marit told me Mommy that I was the most confident dog she had ever groomed, and that she misses me!!! She has my picture on her wall! Mom told her it has been a year, and she is ready to get a new dog from a rescue. I hope she gets one. It will make her feel less sad. My Mom has lots and lots of love to give a new puppy, and PC needs a friend. Mom, get a puppy!!!

A Letter from Raja Babu to His Dogster Friends On His 1st- Rainbow Anniversary

It has been a year since I went to the Rainbow bridge. On July 23 at 3:28 PST in the afternoon I made my journey to the Rainbow Bridge while Mom was overseas. She said goodbye to me on the phone. Tomorrow Mom and PC will celebrate my first Rainbow crossing. I would have turned 8 this year. We do not celebrate July 23 as a day of loss but as a day of thankfulness for having me for seven years in their lives. I was a fun and loving pup, full of energy and antics.

Mom will set up a Raja Babu Fund for me at the no-kill Green Hill Humane Society in Eugene. Sometime this summer, she will sprinkle my ashes in Yachats Beach by the Pacific. PC and Mom have bonded in my absence. As Mom tells PC, all good things end, but they leave their legacy. My kitty sister Poka is thriving. One of these days, a new pup will be adopted. Our family is thankful for all the bounty they have, and all the love they have had from STAFU and Dogster friends.

To friends old and new, we ask you do something naughty and fun to remember me, Raja Babu Always.

Today, July 23, 2010 is your first Rainbow Day. After you journeyed on, my life felt very empty. Yet, you taught me that life is one of loving, giving and enjoying to the fullest. Every now and then, I remember your smile, your bark, your antics and playfulness, and they bring smiles to my face. I will remember you, Raja Babu My Always, as the most joyous and wonderful dog-son and friend in my life who helped me cross a bridge over troubled waters.

Who has shown you UNCONDITIONAL love thru thick and thin? Who has never asked for anything but has only given? Has sat by your feet when you're tired, has kissed your face when you cried, has cuddled next to you when you were sick...Lovers may come and go, but a dog's love is forever. My STAFU pal Lucie Goosie is an Angel

Lucie Goosie has now joined me in Angel Land. Another dog gone, another sad day. But let us look at the bright things in life. She was a rescue and was given a very happy and loving home. Her posts were full of spunk! She had a happy, loving and good life. May she rest in peace. Her Mom Trista is fighting ovarian cancer. So, our prayers and thoughts are with her as well.

2010 is around the corner. Two more days and champagne bottles will pop! Happy 2010 to all my buddies. May you'll be as naughty as you can be in the new year. Remember to get all the pets, hug and bones for yourself! Selflessness thy name is not canine!

I am wishing my Mom who is still doing something she calls "re-search" in a far away place called Bangladesh. I hope she gets back home soon. The house misses her, especially kitty sister Poka. Mom, happy new year to you. I hope you have more joy this year than the past. And wishes to my baby sister Cassandra and kitty sis Poka. On New Year's Day, I will fly over the house sprinkling angel dust. Those are my kisses for my loved ones.

Getting a new puppy...

Mom has been thinking of getting a new puppy. She always wanted a pup that looked like Mollie Tzu. She has been talking to people on Facebook who got pups from Glory Ridge Shih Tzus. She is now in love with solid reds. They are rare but just so GORGEOUS! So last night, Mom had a very vivid dream about me lying on my back in my doggy bed. I was very happy and getting my tummer rubs. That was my eRaja to Mom. It is OK to get a new pup and playmate for my corgi sis PC who is lonely. E-Raja to Mom: get a new solid red Shih Tzu. I also sent a name Red Butler, LMAO!

Life is made of...

small acts of kindness, friendships, smiles, sadness, the cycle of loss and rebirth...life is made of all these things that make us stop and rejoice in what we have. Memories...

Yesterday we got a big box from UPS. It was a portrait of me commissioned by my friends at STAFU. The artist, Auntie Linda Yazzie also a Dogster member, painted me from my pics. It is a life-sized portrait. She truly captured my spirit, my Tzu eyes that would slightly squint in the sun, the softness of my fine fur, the gentleness of my spirit. She painted me in a heavenly meadow in front of the Pacific that I loved so much with a rainbow in the background. When she looked at it, Mom could almost feel my presence, and she said that she could literally lift me off the canvas. It was a painting drawn with so much love...

A million thank yous to Auntie Linda Yazzie for the love she poured into the painting. You will always be in our hearts. To my friends at STAFU who show me unconditional love, and to Raja Traveler's Mom, Auntie Helen (who met me twice in Oregon), to CB's Mom who also met me, to BCUP and Baily's Moms for thinking of this wonderful gift for my Mom. We thank you and we cherish your friendship.

The portrait now hangs in the breakfast nook in the kitchen. I loved the kitchen. I got fed there, and I was always in there looking for treats. So, I majestically hang on the wall. When Mom enters the house, she can see me directly from the main entrance.

I am the King of all I survey, in life as in death. I will Always be there watching over my Mom.
