My 10 days are up and I am on limited time.
My 'number' in the shelter is #222
(note: I may have been a chained dog, because I have scars all around my neck and I was very thin when I was picked up as a stray)
One day, I was walking along, minding my own business, when I decided to go to PetSmart! Well, a nice animal catcher caught me, said I was a stray, because I forgot to bring my ID along. I had a collar which was embedded in my skin! and it gave me scars and I'm still healing. ugh it was so tight, it made holes in my neck! now I'm healing... at least...
I don't know what will happen to me. The chow rescue people said I wasn't chow at ALL, so my label was wrong and nobody even tried to adopt or appy for me, because they thought I didn't look like any chow they had ever seen. (of course not, I'm not chow! I have black spots on my tongue, but so do many other purebred breeds of dogs, who are not chow. I'm a mutt: mostly labrador and maybe some rottie)
Well, I'm smart, and I'm loving and I'm young and effervescent with joy. I hope I get adopted. Like a warm cup of coffee, I'll be a great pet.

My name is Penny #222. I'm a shelter dog in Montgomery County Rockvill MD
Humane Society shelter
available to 501c3 rescue only
I'm lab/pit bull mix (probably, not sure)
I was starving and had embedded collar wounds when
they took me to the shelter.
I'm mostly healed.
but my time is up. September 18 is my last day, I guess
I was on dogster for almost a month.
Nobody wants me. I wish you well.

call NOW (September 18, Monday). I am too energetic for a home w. small children. I'm untrained, but friendly and joyful. I jump on people. I'm curious about everything.
My friend who placed my ad here, she also placed it in the Washington Post! earlier this month. but no one called.

Remember : spay / neuter prevents this tragedy. Nobody wanted me after I outgrew my puppy cuteness. There are hundreds, no thousands and thousands of dogs just like me
in the shelters. We spend our last lonely days there. and then we are discarded, like old clothes. It's sad.
I am joyful and loving to the end, my dear friend. I am a dog who loved anyway. the world is not perfect. I love you any way.
