DJ Jazzy Jeffz

I've added a ‘Z’ to the end of my name for a few days. They call me DJ Jazzy Jeffz around here. I'm walking more and more and more all the time. One of my vets (I have 3 of them!) calls it amazing. She knew I could get better but not this much better. I'm a very happy dog. I have some new friends, Lemmy and Iggy (my friends are Pittsburgh Penguins fans as am I). But having these new friends is not so much a big deal as I love other dogs. The big deal is that my new best friend is Rod, who is a human. Rod walked right up to me, leaned over and rubbed my head, turned around and sat in a chair. I ran right over to him and jumped up and down insistently for more. Eventually, Rod had to pick me up and put me on his lap. My mom thought it was amazing, since I've had issues with men before. So now I have some place to go when mom has to go out of town. I'm doing better all the time with people. Not so much in the house yet (except Dana- the girl who watched me for 2 weeks while mom was in Africa), but still amazingly calm. Me and my doggy brother Zeke play a little more now.

Well right now Mom has 2 dachshunds on the couch with her – one completely across her lap and me with my head on her leg and my little eyes barely staying open….soooo it must be time for nap #2 of the day.

New Update

Yesterday, I walked about 20’ straight. Today I've been walking up a storm. And I don’t meet walk, scoot, walk. I mean WALK. ALL 4 LEGS!! My back legs are pretty stiff and atrophied but they are trying their best to get me around. (Did you see my new picture of me standing up getting a drink?)

And I have come to some conclusions:

I dosn’t like acupuncture at all. I say that’s for the birds.

I don’t like physical therapy. I says that’s for the birds too.

I don’t like people in the house. BUT, I love people OUT of the house.

And I love dogs.

BOL!

I say woof and wag my tail (and I've been wagging it a LOT lately)….I love my new mom & my new dachshund brother! (Did you see my new picture of us together? We could be twins!)

Happy 4th of July!

I won't be out enjoying any fireworks, they scare me! All that loud noise makes me very nervous! Hope all my pals are careful and safe!

Did you know that the 4th of July is the highest day of missing pets all year?? That is scary! So make sure your humans put your ID tags on, its even better if you are micro chipped. And tell them to leave you in the house when the noises are loud so you won't be scared and run off to hide and not be able to find your way home again.

I Get To Go To Work Now

Me and Zeke (my doggie brother) got to go to the office with mom Thursday afternoon. Mom says I did wonderful. I went right up to people and let them pet me. By the end of the afternoon, I was scooting around the office visiting whomever I wanted. I'm now officially one of the office dogs and welcome there anytime. How pawsome is that??!

When mom and I walked into the office, one of the girls saw Zeke run by and mom carrying me. Mom told her to be careful cuz sometimes I snip or bite a little hard. Than around the corner comes John (he works with mom) running up to us yelling “ZEKE!!!” and just grabbed grabbed me out of mom's arms. I was shaking a little but didn’t freak out! And it was a guy holding me!!! (you know sometimes I have guy issues) Then John realized I was not ZEKE! BOL.. Anyway, I had a good time and was exhausted afterward and had to take a long nap!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!

Today is my birthday. If I was still with DARE it would have been 2 years in foster care, but I'M ADOPTED NOW!! I'm 6 year old now too! The last 2 years have been pawsome! MUCH better than the first 4 years of my life! Bark to my fellow birthday dogs today!

Walking!

I took my first steps for my new mom! She was so excited! I know, I've been taking steps for awhile now, but hadn't walked at all since I got adopted, but I did yesterday and my mom was super excited. It was alot of fun to see how happy she was. She says I'm the neatest dog. I bite her friends, I can't help it, it's just what I do, but I don't bite her so that counts for something right? BOL!

An Update From My New Home

I'm doing great! My new mom took me to the vet to say hello. I was very nice to him. He fed me treats & I let him pick me up and hold me. I didn't even bite him! I get to sleep on the big bed each night. That is pawsome! I am going to see a physical therapist & now me and my mom do excercises in the tub. Life in my new home is pawsome!!

New Picture

My foster mom has added a picture of me and my fur-ever mom to my page. I really like this picture because we are hugging. Thanks to everyone who read my page when I was diary of the day on Saturday, the day I went home! I loved all the emails, cool gifts & pup pal requests!

I'm Home!

I'm all settled in to my new home now. My new mom is awesome and so are my new doggie brothers. I even got to sleep on the big bed with my mom and my brothers my first night home!! How pawsome is that??!!

Thanks to everyone who kept up with me and followed me through all the ups and downs I had. My foster mom is going to update my dogster site if she receives updates from my forever mom.

To my fellow "available for adoption" pups out there, hang in there! I'm proof that there is a family out there for EVERY dog, sometimes you just have to wait for them to come find you!
