Arrival Story: Chloe was about 4 months old when we got her. She had been starved and abused. Our last dog had died after my step-dad came back from Iraq the first time and he was on his second Iraq tour when we got Chloe so she was kind of a suprise for him. Two days after we brought her home we found out she had whipworm and parvo. After a long stay in the hospital she got to come home and we all took turns feeding her baby food and making her well. She was a survivor. But when we moved to Fort Stewart, Georgia, everything changed. I was coming home from a late night bike ride, and I had to open the gate to hang up my bike, which my stepdad was supposed to help me but of course he didn't. When I went to go inside, I didn't realize the gate was still open, and as soon as I opened the door, Chloe came out the door and sat on the patio. Something caught my eye as I realized Chloe was standing up now, looking at the gate. I called her name, but she didn't budge. She ran out of the yard as I was screaming after her. I went inside and tried to figure out how to explain when my mom noticed Chloe was missing. Anyway, I was told to stay in the yard in case she came back while they went searching. About an hour later, my parents came back with grim news: Chloe had been found, but she had been hit by a gentleman(he even stopped to help) on the road behind our house, and she had unfortunately died on the way to the veterinary clinic. I cried and cried all night and into the morning, and I fell asleep in my mothers arms. Chloe was a great dog, and it was a terrible loss, but great gain having such a good dog for any period of time. Chloe will be remembered as the greatest companion I have ever known, and it's comforting to know she is in good hands.

Bio: We weren't exactly sure when her birthday was, so we counted back from when we got her and it was some time around mother's day so we celebrate on mothers day. SO her official birthday was Mother's day 2005.
