I am so glad that mommy and daddy found me. They treat me like a prince. Since I just turned a year old, I know I am not perfect and I still make mistakes, but they understand and teach me the right way. When I came home with them last year, boy, I had a big surprise! First to meet me was a BIG girl. I found out her name was Sheba. She acted like a mom and played with me and watched over me so that nothing bad could happen. Then I met Two Socks. He has sharp nails and I was afraid he might hurt me. But when he saw me, he took his hand and tapped me on the head a couple times. (I think he thought I was a toy). And then the I met some strange looking things with feathers. Some don't mind me at all, but then there are some that chase me. I think my mommy told me that they were guineas. There is one that I can't even get near, because he chases me. A couple times, he has caught me and bit me on the tail. That's when mommy and daddy get really upset!!! Well, enough of that...I really need to tell you what I do every day after mommy gets home from work. She takes me swimming. She makes sure that I have my life jacket on so that I don't get hurt. We play ball, and float around. I can jump about 7 feet from the deck into the pool. I just love to go swimming! Mom & dad bought me a stroller so I can go with them to lots of places. Stores don't mind me going with them as long as there is not food in there.. Sometimes they sneak me in the mall, but they cover my stroller with a blanket and I stay very quiet. It's so funny that they tell everyone they see that I am spoiled...hmmm....AM I really??? I have all kinds of clothes that I love to wear. I have red sneakers, hats, shirts, jackets, sweaters, pj's, a cowboy hat and even sunglasses. I have my own room where I stay when mommy & daddy go to work. But I like to sleep with them at night and cuddle up to them. Sheba has to stay on the floor 'cause I think she's too big. But she has a nice big fluffy bed that she sleeps on. I really love my mom and dad, sister and brother. We all have lots of fun together. Forums Motto: Loves to Dress Up!! Sorry I haven't written to you sooner than now. But lots have happened around here. Mom got a new job in January. We're all planning on moving soon as soon as mom and dad sell our house.
And dad just got the pool all filled. So that means summer is really close! I LOVE to swim!!!! Sheba and Two Socks are both doing fine. We still play alot with each other and have lots of fun.
Alot had happened since 2008. I still go to lots of places with Mom and Dad. Last year, we went to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Bryce and Zion Natl Parks in Utah. Mom and Dad renewed their wedding vows in Las Vegas. I even walked down the aisle in front of Mom. I have to post some pictures of that special day. They took me to the casinos with them. We really had fun all week long. When we got home, it was good to be home, but I still miss all the fun we had.
Before mom got her new job in January, I really enjoyed having her home with me all the time. But I know mom missed working and I am doing pretty good staying home all alone till mom and dad get home from work.
Mom and dad are both on Facebook, and I have a Dogbook on there too. Mom and dad have both met some of their friends on there and have found friends that they went to school with.
Well, I guess I'll have to get going for now. I'll be putting more pictures on my page soon.
Wowwee!!! Time sure flies by! After Halloween (Mommy's Birthday) was Thanksgiving, then Christmas (I was a good boy this year), New Years and Valentine's Day(Daddy's Birthday). Now St Patrick's Day and Easter are right around the corner!
Mommy told me that she was sorry she hasn't had time to help me write in my diary. There was just so much to do for Christmas. We've had some really COLD days and nights this winter. I'm only 2, so I don't remember what it was before. But mommy and daddy say for Oklahoma, it's very unusual for the cold to stay around like it has been. Mommy's from Maine and she said they are having ALOT of snow up there. She remembers when she was a kid, they always had lots and lots of snow to play in. She said this year they have almost 100 INCHES!!! WOW!!! That's alot! I stand 15" to my shoulders....That's .....mmmmmm.......Well, I that's alot of snow to get buried under. Mom is going to have to help me figure that one out. Well, here's what she came up with.....I would have to have 7 of me standing on top of me to make 100 inches.WOW!!!
Oh, another thing. Mommy and me have been going to school....sure seems like a long time. But before Christmas she started taking me to Obedience Classes as a Beginner. I graduated from that one and got promoted to the Novice Class. Now she says we have 3 more weeks left of this one. And if I
pass this one, She'll get to take me to the Therapy Classes. We do so much walking and sitting and laying down. My friend Shadow, he's a Border Collie. We were in the same class for Beginners and he's in my class now too. We have so much fun together. Mommy and his mom are friends too. I can't wait till this class ends so I can go try being a "Therapy Dog in Training". That should be lots of fun...meeting people and going to different hospitals and nursing homes and schools. I like to make people happy.
Well, I'll have to write more another day. I have already taken too long to write this one.
By the way, I did Graduate from The Novice Class. Mom was so happy I was third in my class. I'll write more soon!!!
Wow! Talk about busy! October was a busy month for mom, dad and me! They entered me in lots of Halloween Events. Mom loves Halloween since it's her birthday. She made me a really cool costume. She called it a "One of a Kind". Sonia, her niece, help her with ideas to decorate it. Thanks Sonia, you're a sweetie to help. The costume which is the 1st picture, was an Indian Chief. Mom wanted to do something to go with Oklahoma's Centennial year as a state. I think that means 100 years.
First, we went to Dog Day Afternoon in Norman, OK. There we saw all kinds of dogs having lots of fun. There were also dogs and cats there needing to be adopted. It's so sad to see so many pets that are not wanted. My sister Sheba was adopted by mom and dad. She's such as nice girl. I'm so glad they adopted her. Well, anyway, back to Dog Day Afternoon. Mom entered me in lots of events. I won 1st place for Best Kisser. Then She entered me in Best Trick Contest. I won 3rd place for that. The other 2 who got 1st place were really cool, and I'm glad they won. I was a little shy about doing my tricks because of all the barking from the others. Oh well. 3rd is still better than nothing at all. Then Dad and me went as Look-a-like's, but we didn't win in that one. Maybe if dad would have gotten a perm like mom's he would have had a better chance of looking like me. Then I won 1st Place for Best Costume. I was so happy, because mom worked so hard on my costume. Then the best of all....I won BEST OF SHOW!!! Is that cool or what? And a very special person presented the Trophy to me and mom. The Honorable Mayor of Norman shook my hand and have us the Trophy. Thank you so much Mrs Mayor for being there on that Special Day.
Then the next day, we went to Barktober Fest in Ardmore, OK. My friends Foxy and Cooper went with us. They followed in the car behind us. We had loads of fun. They had a big jar of treats that the moms and dads had to guess how many treats were in there. Mom took a guess and forgot about it. We walked around and met lots of new friends. We also played games. I love playing Musical Hoops. I got 4 trophies there. I got "Cutest Cowboy", "Best Trick", "Judges Choice" and "King", because I sold the most tickets for the Dog House Raffle to benefit the Animal Shelter. Then mom found out she guessed the closest for the Treat Jar. YIPPIE!!!! We got to take the treats home!!!! Thank you Stacy and Kristi for making that day very special for me and all the others "kids".
Then mom took me to PetsMart's Howl-o-Ween on Tuesday night. I won 1st Place and got a Blue Ribbon and Gift Certificate from there. There were lots of cute ones there too.
Then on Saturday before Halloween, we went to Mann's Best Friend in Oklahoma City. I won !st Place for Best Costume and got a very nice Blue Ribbon. Then I got a really cool Trophy for being voted the Best of Show. Tori and Season did a really neat job putting their 1st annual Halloween Event together. Thanks bunches to both of you.
Then Saturday night we went to Neel Veterinary Clinic in Oklahoma City. They had a cool spooky yard for us to walk through. We got treats and gifts and toys there. There was also a cookout with hot dogs and stuff for the parents. They are a cool place to visit.
Then on Sunday, we went to Atwood's Home and Ranch in Norman. I got Managers Choice and Grand Champion there.
So now that Halloween is over maybe mom and dad and ME can rest a little.
But wait....there's more!!! This past weekend, Petco in Norman had a Fashion Show. It was their Grand opening weekend too.Mom and Dad took me. I won "Best of Show" there too. There were 2 of us. The other one, a girl dressed in Petco Apparel won Best of Show with their clothes, and I won with any kind of clothes. I wore my Indian Outfit...expecially since Oklahoma celebrated it's 100th Birthday on Friday. I'm so glad to have a Petco closer to our house.
Well, I guess I'd better stop and give mom a break. This is Thanksgiving week, and mom has lots of things to get ready for.
Mom, Dad, Me, Sheba, Two Socks and my sisters and brother at the Rainbow Bridge (Teddy, Tasha, and Francine) all wish everyone a Very Happy Thanksgiving.
Till next time,
Hugs and Poodle Kisses,
Dusty
We all had a good time at Petco. There were lots of 4 legged kids there
