Things are Better Today

In my last diary entry I wrote that I was having trouble leaking urine when I was sleeping again. I am now taking my "pee pee" pills once per week and I started leaking again right when I am suppose to take my weekly pill. I leaked Monday night and all day Tuesday. I took my "pee pee" pill on Tuesday morning. The plan was that Mommy was going to phone the vet today and explain what is happening. This morning we found that I didn't leak all night -hooray!!! Mommy said it took about 15 hrs. for that pill to kick in. She didn't phone the vet today because she wanted to see what I would do today. I again did not leak all day and all evening today. So for now Mommy is going to monitor me for awhile. The big question now is: "Will I be able to last and not leak until next week when I take my pill again?" I guess we will have to wait and see. Mommy is expecting to have to do some experimentation with my meds before we find the right combination for me. The main thing would be for us to eventually get everything right.

I have taken a Step Back

I took a step back today pups. We always knew that the challenge will come when my medication gets reduced. I am still on my antibiotics every day so that isn't a problem. The problem is with my "pee pee" pills - that is what Mommy calls them. They are pills that stop me from leaking urine when I am sleeping. I was on them for a whole week and I totally stopped leaking. Then I was suppose to be on them one day each week for the rest of my life. I was off them for a whole week and everything was fine. Today was the first day that I was to take my weekly pills and I started to leak again last night. Mommy gave me my weekly pill this morning but I was still leaking tonight. Mommy is thinking that I need a higher dosage to stop leaking. Now Mommy has to phone the vet tomorrow and talk to her. I also pooped in my sleep again today. Mommy is starting to think that both are related and that the "pee pee" pill also helps the poopy. Hopefully Mommy will get hold of the vet tomorrow. I will bark at you tomorrow pups and let you know what is happening.

I had my Picture Taken

Today was a quiet day being a Monday. Mommy went to work all day and I got to rest. This evening she took some pictures of me. She tried to put the pictures on my page but it didn't work. We figure Dogster is having some trouble and we will try again tomorrow.

It is real hard taking pictures of me because I am blind and deaf now. I don't know where I should be looking or really what is going on. Please have patience with me if I am not looking at the camera the way I should be. Mommy has known for a couple of years that I have cataracts but it never really bothered me much until the last couple of months. I must have lost the last bit of sight that I had and now I am having trouble getting used to it. Sometimes I just stand in one place and won't move. Or I will run into things and Mommy hears a crash! It is hard getting old but thankfully Mommy is understanding.

I had my Shower

Today is Sunday and we had a quiet day. We all slept in this morning and then Jelly and Mommy went to Jelly's school. When they got home Mommy said it was time for my bath. Actually I always have a shower and I just love it because it feels so good. We have a pretty good system for showers pups. Mommy has a little plastic table that fits perfectly into our bath tub. I stand on the table and then Mommy uses the hand held shower head and squirts me with water. The shower head is a massage shower type and Mommy can adjust it any way she likes. I just love the warm water pulses massaging my body. Mommy shampooed me and rinsed it all off. Then she just lets me enjoy the beautiful warm massage. I don't move at all because I am just in heaven! Then Mommy wraps me in a big warm towel and she uses that blowy thing with warm air to get me dry. Jelly hates the blowy thing and takes off but I love it. It is so nice having that warm air blowing all over me. Boy did I ever feel better afterwards! Mommy had wanted to take pictures of me but all that took lots out of me and I was ready for a sleep and Mommy was running out of time. Maybe we will try to take the pictures tomorrow.

A Quiet Day

Not much new happening around here. Mommy was gone most of the day which was disappointing since it is Saturday. She had to go to a meeting in the morning and then run a bunch of errands in the afternoon. I spent most of the day sleeping - I think I was more tired today then I have been. Mommy says if I am feeling up to it that I will get a bath tomorrow. I know she wants to try and take some valentine pictures of me. She took Jelly's pictures today and left all the valentine props set up to use with me.

I think I will go back to sleep now - yawn, yawn. I will bark at you tomorrow pups.

Mommy has her work cut out!

I had Mommy running more errands for me today. First she looked at the antibotics that she picked up for me yesterday and saw it was a two week supply and not a one week. She said she thought they were rather expensive for one week but didn't question it and just paid - after all I am worth it! So today she got to talk to the vet. The Vet is so happy to hear that I am doing well. She said that she wants me on antibiotics for 4 weeks and that is why she gave Mommy another two week supply. She said then we are going to have to manage my teeth infection and that we will try putting me on antibiotics for one week out of every six weeks for the rest of my life. I also have to be on my pee pee pills (the ones that prevent me from leaking in my sleep) once per week for the rest of my life. This all sounds okay, not what I would choose to do but I can manage it.

Then after work Mommy went to buy me more tinned food. Mommy always thought it sounded strange that the vet wanted me on tinned food to gain weight. When she was talking to the people in the food store they didn't agree and said I would loose weight. Mommy is going to have to do research on this because I want to gain weight and not loose any more. I am three lbs lighter then I was last year and a pound lighter then I was in November.

I think Mommy has her work cut out for her now! I sure am glad I have a Mommy that does all this for me.

Mommy did the Chores I Gave Her

I am doing well today pups. I am doing so well now (back to my regular self) that I don't think I have to do updates any more. Don't worry pups that doesn't mean I am not going to write in my diary but I will just be writing regular diary entries now. It likely only means that my diary entries will be called something else! BOL!!!

Today Mommy did all the chores that I told her to do! BOL!!!!! Who runs this place anyways??? You are right it is me, Mommy just doesn't know it. On the way home from work today Mommy went to the Vet Office and picked up the extra week of antibiotics that I need. This makes me feel so much better knowing that there will be no interruption in my antibiotics. It just would not do to let those mean germs take over again! The Vet was not there when Mommy arrived so she asked the Vet to phone her tomorrow. Mommy has to find out what we are going to do as maintenance once the antibiotics are over. We were taking antibiotics two days per week prior to me getting sick. I will let you know what the vet says.

Nothing much else happened today. We had a quiet evening with Mommy being home. Oh yea I almost forgot, Jelly is doing this clicker thing that I have never heard of before. Mommy has her doing such simple things like sit and down and clicks a thingy in her hand and gives Jelly a treat. It sure looks weird to me and I will be watching with great interest as to where that is going. Bark at you later pups!

Wednesday Update

I am doing fine today pups. No pee in my sleep, no poop in my sleep and my bladder infection seems to be getting better. I am pretty much back to my old self. Mommy phoned the vet today and arranged to pick up my third week of antibiotics, I bet my diary entry from yesterday got her going!

The challenge will be when I am finished my antibiotics and how we are going to manage the infection for the long term from my teeth. I sure don't want to go back to the same bad infection again. Mommy is going to have to talk to the vet about this. Mommy are you listening??? This is a new job for you to do.

Mommy was saying today that I should have a bath now that I am feeling better. She has been keeping me as clean as she could but she didn't want to give me a full bath. So maybe this weekend it will be bath time. Then do you know what she said??? She said that it is about time for a photo session. A photo session!!???? I am barely recovered and right away she is talking about pictures. She reminded me that Valentines Day is coming and that I need some Valentine pictures. Oh boy, Mommy will never change!

Tuesday Update

Well pups I think things have stabilized with my heath. I did really good today. Mommy thinks I may have leaked some urine when I was sleeping today but she isn't sure. If I did it was just a small amount. I take one pill for this and Mommy calls it my pee pee pill. I was suppose to take it every day for one week which I just completed. Now I am only taking it one day per week forever more. She is worried that once we reduce it I may start up again but I guess we will have to see. As to my bladder infection that is getting lots better. My peeing is almost normal - maybe a bit more frequent but not bad. The vet told my Mommy that she wanted me to take the antibiotic for at least 3 weeks. Can you believe she only sold my Mommy a 2 week supply? I hate to say it but it was in case I didn't make it and then Mommy would have saved some money. Well, Mommy isn't going to save some money because I plan to be around for awhile yet so all I can say to Mommy is, "get your butt going and get me that extra week of pills!" BOL!!!! As you can see I am feeling much better now!

Monday Update

I am doing well. Mommy was so happy when she got home from work because I didn't leak any urine all day! My bed was totally dry! Yahoo, yahoo!! :) I did pee pee on my puppy pad but no leaking in the bed. Mommy is now holding her breath to see if it will stay this way. Once before I didn't leak when I was left and then it started up again. I guess we will see.....

Otherwise everything is going along fine. I don't poop in my sleep, I am not straining to pee any more (although I still pee more often), I am fairly alert and I am eating well.

I will keep up with my meds and see what happens...... For now I am very happy! We sure have come a long way since Wednesday!!! :)
