Whew!! What a Holiday! We had a fun time! There were ten dogs at our house. It's hard to believe how many cousins I have!! Mom just sat back and laughed at the sounds of paws running across the floors....she says it is music to her ears. We all played, snacked, napped, and even opened presents. Scruff MacDuff and Mason and Dixon taught our new cousin, Clark, how to chase squirrels. Now that everyone has left, it's very quiet around here. Sigh.

Too much yelling, screaming, cheering, laughing.....

I am traumatized from last weekend. I am the queen and I like my queendom stable and calm. OH NO!! Not last weekend. There was WAY too much "excessive celebration." Unfortunately, no yellow flags were thrown...except by me! What happened? I'll tell you.

First, we went to our tailgating spot in Auburn, which we often do on fall weekends. However, this was no normal tailgating weekend!! First, strange decorations are placed everywhere. "Welcome Home" signs and American flags begin to dot the landscape. Next, strange decor, known as Halloween decorations, begin to spring up! Little black boxes begin to spew fog everywhere. Yikes!!

Soon, something good did happen. My brother-in-law, who has been gone a long time, appeared!!! He has been in some place called Iraq. My furless sister was with him, too. She is looking very odd, though. Mom said she is preg-nut--I do see she has a big nut under her belt, but I really don't get it.

Well, then a big celebration begins. More furless arrive. Gifts begin to pile up and someone said something about washing a baby...or giving it a shower. I didn't stick around for that...bath or shower, they are both evil!!

The next day was no better! We all sat and watched the Auburn game (War Eagle) and all the furless were yelling and screaming. I had to bark along with them, but geeessh!! I could hardly get a nap out. Did I mention I did all of this in a ridiculous looking bumblebee outfit?? Then I had to put up with a few small furless coming around, dressed strangely, expecting a handout of treats. This is all too much!

I am The Pad! This is not the environment I expect. I am about to write my congressman.......... Oh, did I mention that Scruff MacDuff loved every minute of it?? Sheeeesh!

Wow, this has been a busy month!! The Auburn Tigers have kept me busy tailgating for 4 weekends in a row!! War Eagle! I have enjoyed watching all the activity and barking my head off when strange men come into my tailgating spot! BOL

Scruff MacDuff and I just returned from taking our mom camping for two nights....just the three of us!! We did a lot of napping, reading, and walking! A lot of walking!! My little legs never slowed down!

September was great, and I look forward to October!!

Roughing It!

Scruff MacDuff and I just returned from a week of lake camping. Most of it was wonderful....good food, digging holes looking for rabid badgers, barkingbarkingbarking at squirrels, and visiting with the "big dogs."

BUT

The last night we were taking a stroll at dusk. There I was, minding my own business, strutting my stuff down the road; when two outofcontrol furballs came running from their campsite and attacked me! Naturally, I had flashbacks to the attack last Winter by the BIG dawg that hospitalized me. My mom finally got me away from them and held me. To show my gratitude, I peed all over her. I was okay (mom said) but very traumatized.

YES...there is a leash rule at this campsite...the next morning the same dogs were STILL off leash!!!! You know, those dawgs were okay, it was their stupid owners. Gggggrrrrrrr............

Vacation and other stressful things!

I need a new secretary. It has been TWO years since she typed an entry. I have recited to her many times, but she has done nothing. She is worthless.

Well, since my last entry, I have a new fur brother, Scruff MacDuff. Please do not tell anyone this: I really love him!! He is way too calm, though, and not a bit neurotic like me. Poor child! He has actually been in the family now for 1 and 1/2 years, so I am afraid I will never get him to be nervous and high strung...oh well!

We have just returned from a vacation to the beach at Hilton Head Island. Scruff and I got to take a lot of walks on the beach. We dug a huge hole, but then the ocean peed in it and filled it up. Hhhmph! We watched fireworks on the 4th of July in a place called Harbour Town. They were probably very pretty, but my mom was scared so I had to hide my face in her lap.

Well, this is The Pad, signing off!!

Well, first, the hoomans took a vacation without me! Yes, you heard me correctly! They left me home while they went to the beach. I had a sitter come stay at home with me. That part was great! She was a piece of cake. All I had to do was give her my pitiful look, and the world was mine!!

When the hoomans returned, there was a great surprise. All my furless siblings were with them and they spent two nights here! It was so good to see them. In the mornings I got to jump in the middle of their beds and give them doxie kisses to start their mornings! One of the brothers brought his pup, Mason. Mason and I played non-stop. He and I chased each other through the woods and the stream and got all muddy. It was wonderful!

All the furless siblings are gone now and it's quiet. I am getting much needed naps. My mom is home and will be for two weeks. We are having "Girl" time--napping, reading, being on Dogster, water flowers, and other strenuous stuff!

Oh My! Little ole me is Dog of the Week. I am so honored to be representing this wonderful group, Dogster. My mom is outta' control. She has called everyone she knows, and a few folks she didn't know, just to tell them. BOL! There's no need to worry about me getting the bighead--I am having to keep my mom under control. Hoomans....whatcha' gonna' do with 'em? Mom, get off the phone, now! No, you do NOT need to call the Governor!

What fun! I went with my mom and dad to our cabin in the mountains of North Carolina last weekend. I am turning into a hardcore biker chick! I ride in my mom's lap with a harness and leash, which is strapped around mom, and I like to put my head on my dad's shoulder. I wear my doggles and skull cap (it keeps the wind from blowing my fur). There are SO many smells to enjoy! This past weekend we went to the Cherokee, NC, biker rally.

Life is good!!!

My Florida Vacation OR The Wiener Women reUnite!

I am so tired, my little paws can barely touch the right keys. * Mom, come over here and type for me please while I dictate.* Last night I got back from my trip to Florida. I had SO MUCH fun!

First, we went to Melbourne, FL. This is where my oldest furless brother and Bailey (his doxie) have moved since they graduated from Auburn (War Eagle!). Bailey and I were so happy to see each other. She picked out a great apartment for them to live in. It is so pretty and roomy. Bailey has done a great job decorating it (along with her dad's occasional help). She has a screened in back porch and in the back yard is a huge pond with giant koi. Hhhmm, I wonder if that pond water is like the pond water back home??? Well, I digress. It's a long walk around the whole pond, but a very nice one with lots of little critters like lizards to keep a pup's interest going. There were so many new smells, I was on overload! Oh Monday the furless one went back to work, so we headed up the coast and went to ........... St. Augustine, where we had booked a room THROUGH DOGSTER.!!!!!

Oh, it was a great place. They had a floor for pets with hoomans, and there were several other pups staying on our floor. The beach allows dogs on leashes at all times of day. Well, let me tell you, the beach is a blast! I saw pelicans and seagulls, jellyfish (leaveit!), seashells, and water that couldn't make up its mind which way to go. My mom and I spent one whole day on the beach. Dad rented us an umbrella and chairs, and we were beach bunnies! The pics are on my page. I even met a good looking cocker spaniel. Don't tell my mom, but I got his e-mail address. There were a lot of dogs and hoomans on the beach, especially in the evenings and they were all so nice.

The next day we left and did the historical St. Augustine visit, but it was really cool. Great shops! Mom and dad and I walked around; there were so many sights, sounds and smells. Then we drove home....and drove and drove and drove. Last night I crashed on the couch and this morning I am still feeling lazy. Oh, what a great trip. I miss Bailey, though!
