Arrival Story:
Metta was adopted from Hands for Paws Rescue in Howell , Michigan. We had just lost our pup, Kayla, to cancer a few days before. We saw Metta’s picture on petfinder.com . They were calling her Pookie. The woman who ran the rescue group brought her to meet us in a church parking lot; we fell in love with that scared little girl puppy and took her right home. Hands for Paws had pulled her from the county kill shelter, who in turn had taken her from her home as a result of a cruelty investigation. We never knew why and didn’t want to know anyway. She was very fearful of men and it took a lot of patience and TLC to get her comfortable in her new home. At the time of her adoption she had two older brothers; Bob, a lab mix and Henry, an Aussie/Border collie mix. She had no problems getting along with them at all. She is now completely bonded with us both and is currently the queen and oldest of the doggies in our family.
Bio:
Whenever her dogdad has a day off, Metta goes running at Hudson Mills Metropark with her brother Ernie. She enjoys the car ride even more than the run. When we return after she's been left behind, she expresses her displeasure in her own doggie language.

Hello to all who read here,
I am pawsitively beside myself. When I got on the computer this morning, there was a message that I was chosen Dog of the Day! What an honor. I'm trying not to bark around too much to the other furkids in my family, but what's a pup to do! They'll just have to be jealous for a while, and it will reinforce the fact that I am QUEEN in my house. They just have to get used to it! My peeps will have to provide extra treats to their special one. NO ONE ELSE! Thanks Dogster for choosing me to have a special day.
