Arrival Story: My mummy and daddy came to get me at a breeders house when i was 5 mths old. I don't know why they didn't want me anymore. i used to sleep under the breeders daughters arm, and she loved me! My new mummy and daddy kept me at two houses because they didn't live together then so i got to do alot of travelling and meeting new people. i bonded straight away with mummy's other Chi, Cindy. She's like my second doggy-mum.
Mummy and daddy made me walk on a lead which i didn't like in the beginning (why does Tinkerbell get her own bag!?) but now it's not too bad. i like walking in front! Bio: i was almost in a Ford Focus commercial because i was great at obedience but i didn't get it as i'm black.....and noone could see me on screen properly! So Cordy would be next in line. She's funny!
Hey there! Looks like there was no need to be worried! Me and my cuz, Monty got along fine! He liked a bit of a tussle and kept trying to prove that he was 'the man' but i put in his place! Just because he's got "his things" doesn't mean he can rule the joint!!!
He didn't mind me jumping all over him and i didn't mind the jumping all over me. He could take as much as he gave so we got on great!
Fergy, his sis, was a bit of a basket case. She hid around the corner and refused to come anywhere near me or Cindy. She is so undersocialised, it's unbelievable! So is Cindy but at least she come over to Monty and Fergy for a sniff. Then she wandered off- other dogs don't interest her.
I do think Monty and Fergy do need to seek some counselling.
The plan was for me and Cin to stay inside, crated while the two of them have the side of the house. Fergy would NOT stop barking all night! Everything makes her jumpy, and if she's not barking out of fear, she is barking for attention!! Our neighbours were yelling at us at 4am!
Dad had to put the both of them in the car for everyone to get some sleep. At least mum was taking them to the vet first thing in the morn!
Monty was alot more confident but with new people he does yap.
Fergy couldn't be separated from Monty, she was a nervous wreck and would bark all the more!!
At the vet, they both barked at every person and animal (and there were alot of them!)Mum was horribly embarressed!! hehe
i can safely say that mum won't ever consider fostering these two dogs!!!
i heard talk this morning about two dogs staying over night! Why in this house? isn't three dogs and two cats enough? Cindy isn't going to like this?! Lily and Jarrah definately ain't gonna like that?!
i've met them before and they aren't even remotely interesting. they had better stay away from me and Cindy's bed! And stay outside.
It's daddy's sister's pups that are coming. i guess that makes them our cousins. i wouldn't mind them so much if they had manners! They are all over the place and don't have any respect for personal space. But maybe they'll be different in our territory. We met them at their house.
I suppose we have to make them comfortable. The only reason they are staying is because mum and dad are dropping them off at the vet tomorrow. Little do they know that Monty will be getting the big chop and Fergi will be getting spayed! Hmmm, they're not going to like that news!
Mum and dad has finally convinced dad's sister that it is for the benefit of our cousins. fergi had a litter of five pups and almost died while feeding them! They all got sold to a pet shop where our auntie made a pretty penny from them!:(((
It really depresses me to think that five pups lives just got wasted, and ended up god-knows-where because my auntie couldn't be bothered desexing her animals.......:(((
And now, Monty and Fergi...talk about behavioural issues, man!
i hope we do get along. i'm going to try and be nice to them no matter how obnoxious they are. They haven't done anything wrong. They can't be blamed for the mistakes of their parents.
We just came back from a walk with mum and dad. After the adventurous five days we had at the lake and beach at Congo, walking around in the 'burbs wasn't as interesting. There isn't as much to see. Definately no kangeroos to chase. Even the smells can't compare!
Mum and dad are going to make a big effort to walk me and Cindy at least once a day now. i'm glad- it does get boring just running up and down the hallway, barking at the gate at kids and burrowing under the fence (we will get to the other side one day!!!) i hate car rides (though Cindy loves them) so even that can't keep me stimulated.
i like to be able to run free off lead and smell and mark and be a dog but there isn't any place i can do that around here.
i hate off lead dog parks because other dogs intimidate me (only very slightly!) so i can't run around at the one down the street.
i hope it isn't too long till our next family holiday!
