A few months caged in a petshop inside a big supermarket ain't that bad at all. I must have met thousands of people. Shoppers with loads of groceries passing by, checking out the new pups and kitties in cages beside and above me--gave us all the more reason to bark our heads off and play cute. I just wished they'd stop poking and waking me up! Not to mention doing my business with everyone watching! There's no shame! Darn these shoppers! Sometimes I just sleep the whole day-off... I met this one lady though, she didn't poke me, she just made funny arf arf noises that got my attention. She was smiling at me. Too bad my face was all messed up, my eyes covered with goo, and I wasn't smelling like baby cologne if you know what i mean..oh well, she thought i was cute.
After a few more dog gone days, my puppy friends have left one by one, brought home by their new masters. I have always wondered how it would feel to walk, run and roam freely outside my cage. Having to eat all day would be nice too. I remember wishing someone would bring me home.
Apparently, stories of me have broken out and finally reached my future dad. The big boss said he would give me away for a big discount. I was afterall, four months old, growing into my cage and still homeless.
Then came the day--May 31, 2006. My dad picked me up and brought me home. I was welcomed by the another puppy of my kind (too bad she scurried away, must be all my missed bath times) and a big familiar smile--only it didn't come with an arf arf. I always knew that that lady would be my mom!
I can't believe whats happening! Is this for real? I'm out of my cage! I can run around and wag my tail freely! And the next thing I saw? Yahooo! Food! I went straight for it! But I'll save that for another story...
