I was born in or near Murfeesboro, TN approx. around 02/04.
Unfortunately I was with a very mean person who thought he could make me mean or tougher looking by taking scissors to my ears and tied a rubber-band on my tail when I was eight weeks old.
Lucky for me and my NEW mom and Dad, a neighbor of this MEAN person turned him in and my sister and I were siezed by the Animal Control Officer.
I am sad to say that my sister did not make it due to complications of illness and neglect.
The vet took very good care of me, and fixed my ears as best she could, but as you can tell they are short and crooked, and I only have about 2 inches of a tail.
I had to spend the six months in the shelter while the cruelty case was tried and then I was put up for adoption.
My new mommy came across a plea to save me, as I only had 4 days to be adopted or they would have put me to sleep, as there was no space at the shelter.
Well, my sad brown eyes won a place in my new mommy's heart and she contact the person that posted my story and filled out all the necessary paperwork and waited for the answer yes or no, for a few days on pins and needles to see if she would get approved.
Little did I know what was happening, I was just trying to finally find a home that would give me all the love and affection that I could get!
Well, next thing I know, I am being pulled from the shelter and brought to a "foster home" until arrangements could be made for me to make my way 1,900 miles to my new mom and dad.
Of course, my "foster" mom was so nice, and I had a few new "temp" siblings, that I could visit and play with.
Then the day finally came that all the wrinkles of getting me to Phoenix were figured out and I was brought on a rescue transport "train" that atleast 2 dozen people drove a leg to get me to Grants, NM to finally meet my new MOM and DAD.
I had no idea what was going on, but I got lots of love and attention with each new person that meet the train and I won the hearts of everyone that I meet that weekend!
When I finally got to Grants, NM I wasn't too sure what was going on I just assumed that I was getting into another vehicle and continueing the journey to Where ever.......
Well, guess what the man and woman that I meet in Grants, NM, hasn't left my side, and I've finally figured out that I have a new home with lots and lots of LOVE and attention.
Since Mom drove all the way from Phoenix To Grants, NM, I was able to sleep in the back seat with her while Dad drove back to Phoenix and my new home.
I was very skittish and unsure of myself with any type of sudden movement, noise or anything I just was not sure of.
It's taken a while but I am able to cuddle with Dad now, but I don't trust strange people, specially men, and will only say "hi" if I know that Mom or Dad is right there.
Now, I'm not mean or aggressive, but I scare very easily still and I honestly don't think I will ever be 100% over that.
Thanks for reading my diary!
