Mommy Pulled My Hair Today

Yes, you heard it right, my Mommy pulled my hair today. BOL!!! Being an affenpinscher I have to have a course coat for the show ring and you only get this by "stripping out the coat" or simply put pulling it. Most terriers have to get this done too. I had my coat stripped out when I was a little pup and I was shown all spring, summer and fall with my coat. My breeder and Mommy decided they would strip me out again to get a better adult coat.

Mommy was proud of me because I was a good girl for stripping my coat. I laid in Mommy's lap while we watched TV and Mommy pulled my coat with her fingers. Mommy is real experienced at doing this because she used to show Miniature Schnauzers and she stripped them. Tomorrow night we are going to try and finish it off.

What a girl has to do to look beautiful! It will be worth it when I am in the show ring this spring with my new coat.

My First Bully Stick

Mommy gave me my first bully stick this evening. Is it ever yummy! When I first got it I couldn't believe how wonderful bully sticks are! I took it immediately and started chewing. I chewed for a couple hours and then I wanted to bury it for tomorrow. I tried to take it outside to bury in the snow but Mommy wouldn't let me. I then looked all over the house for a place to hide this precious treasure and finally settled about a spot between the cushions of one of our doggy beds. Thanks to all you Dogster pups for your good stories about bully sticks in the forums! These really helped convince my Mommy to finally buy me one. I think it is going to take me awhile to chew up my 8" bully stick but I am going to enjoy every minute!

What a Great Evening!

Today was just like any other day that Mommy goes to work. She came home at about 5:30 pm like normal and put us out. Then she asked me if I wanted to go for a car ride. A car ride!! Yahoo!!! You never have to ask me twice if I want to go for a car ride!

So off we went. Mommy said we had to go to the Fed Ex building to pick up a package for me. What could it be? We got there and I found that my Pet Cruiser bicycle basket (the whicker one with the containment cage) had finally arrived. We had ordered it last June and we just got it (it had been on backorder). When we got home we tried it out and I just love it!! Mommy put me in it and it was wonderful. I can hardly wait for spring so Mommy and I can go riding. We plan to rent a cabin for two weeks this summer so we can do lots of bike riding there. We also have a real nice bike trail along a creek that is just behind our house. We also can ride all the way to Assiniboine Park (which is our largest and most beautiful park) without going on any busy roads. Boy are we going to have fun!!! Melt snow, melt! I want to go bike riding.

After we left the Fed Ex building Mommy said we had to go and buy Jennifer a Christmas present. We went to a pet store and that was lots of fun too. Jennifer wants a new doggy bed and I helped Mommy pick out a real nice one for her. It is so nice and soft and cozy! It is also a pretty big one because Jennifer likes to stretch out. I think she will just love this new bed!

Mommy also bought me my first bully sticks. I have never had a bully stick before - what a deprived pup I am! Mommy says she just has this thing in her mind about not liking rawhide bones and she couldn't get past that and buy me a bully stick. I have to thank all my Dogster buddies in the forums for saying such good things about bully sticks that my Mommy finally broke down and bought me some. Mommy said I will get to try it out on the weekend.

I was walking around in the pet store and all of a sudden I smelled something that was so yummy. I pulled Mommy over to that shelf and I wanted some. It was dried rollover chips - just like a slice of rollover that is dried. I want it, want it! I kept pulling Mommy over there and I wouldn't give up. Finally Mommy said I could have one to try. I wanted to tell Mommy to buy me a whole package and not just one chip but I thought I would go along with this and she might buy me more later. I got to have it when I got home and it was sooooo yummmy!!!!!!!!

Another thing I saw in the store looked like a rat to me but Mommy said it was a guinea pig. The lady in the store said his name was David and Mommy said he is cute. I couldn't take my eyes off him and I sure wanted to get closer. Mommy wasn't certain what I would do if I were to get at him. You see I am bred to be a ratter and Mommy was real worried that my natural instincts might take over and that I might want to hurt him. I have no idea what I would do but I sure couldn't get my mind off him.

All and all I would classify this as one of our better evening - it was a great evening!

I Bugged Jennifer Today and I was Good for My Pictures

Last night Mommy groomed up Jennifer. I didn't say anything to poor Jennifer but she was sure looking scruffy and needed to be groomed. After Jennifer was all done she looked so different and she smelled so different from the shampoo. She looked like she could really play now that she got rid of all that hair! I kept asking her to play but she wouldn't : ( Mommy told me to leave Jennifer alone because she is an old gal that can't play any more. I just couldn't resist myself and I kept asking her to play because I thought if she would just try it she might like it. Mommy kept telling me, "No Jelly, leave Jennifer alone." I think I was a bit of a pain to my sister. I really didn't mean to be bad but I wanted Jennifer to play with me so bad! I think I am getting over it now.

Tonight we got our pictures taken in our Christmas gear. Mommy had bought Jennifer a Santa jacket and she bought be a Santa hat with a velvet neck ruff. Jennifer had her pictures done first and she was so good posing for Mommy. Since I had been rather bad today bugging Jennifer I decided that I should be good for my pictures too. When it was my turn for pictures I was soooo good. I even let Mommy put that goovy Santa hat on my head and I did not shake or anything. Jennifer and I then had our picture take together. It turned out really well. Mommy told us how proud she was of us for being well behaved for our pictures.

Mommy then finished Jennifer's and my Dogster page by putting up our new pictures. I just love my new page!

I Got My Picture Taken With Santa

On Saturday I got my picture taken with Santa Paws! Yahoo!!! I was beginning to think I wasn't going to get my picture taken with Santa this year. My Mommy was out of town for work for a week and then when she got home she had the flu for a week so we missed out on most of the opportunities to get our picture taken. Then Saturday morning Mommy was reading the paper and she saw that a store was doing Santa pictures that day. So off we went to see Santa!

We walked into the store and there wasn't a single pup there to get pictures so I got taken right to Santa. I was a bit scared at first and Mommy thought afterwards that I should have got some time to look around the store first so I would be more comfortable. I am a well socialized pup so I got over it real quick and really got into this picture thing. Santa is a big fat man all dressed in red with a big white beard. I have never seen anyone like that before! He was real nice to me and we got a great picture! I whispered to Santa what I wanted for Christmas because I have been told he is the man that brings all the presents. I think I will follow it up with a letter just to make sure Santa got it straight.

After I got my picture taken I also got a treat to take home. Mommy bought me a real cute little stuffed squeaky lamb and one of my favourite cookies. What a great day that was!

Today (Sunday) I made a mistake but I don't think it was my fault. I know I am suppose to go potty outside, on puppy pads or on newspaper. What do you think Mommy did today??? She took today's newspaper and put it on the livingroom floor. I saw it there and I thought she was being nice to me giving me a close place to potty so I peed right in the middle. How was I to know that Mommy hadn't read the paper yet???? Mommy wasn't mad because she realized it was her fault. She said she didn't want to read that section anyways. BOL!!!! I guess Mommy learned her lesson!

Is it Ever Cold!

Boy, is it ever cold tonight! It is -25 degrees C. and a windchill of -35 degrees C. Let me tell you I am sure not ringing the pouchie bells tonight! Mommy goes to put me outside and I try to hide because I don't want to go out in that cold weather. I have never experience such cold weather in my whole 1 year life. Last year I was just a tiny puppy so I didn't have to go out in the cold. Mommy really tries hard and spends about five minutes getting me ready to go out. I have a real warm coat and waterproof thermal lined snow boots. It is the snow boots that take so much time to put on and I have to admit that I am not the most cooperative pup. Mommy came outside with me tonight and she couldn't stop laughing because she thought I looked so funny in my boots. I personally didn't see anything funny about it!!! She said I looked real stiff and that I was walking with my legs wide apart. She said it was particularly funny because my boots have strips on them that glow in the dark. I don't think it is funny laughing at a little pup in the cold. The next time Mommy goes outside looking like an Eskimo in her big ski pants I am going to laugh at her too. She walks stiffed legged too when she is wearing all those clothes!!! I do know that Mommy is only trying to be nice to me. She did put a puppy pad in the kitchen for us just in case we don't get all our "business" done outside in this cold weather.

Mommy wasn't impressed with me this afternoon. I tried to bring a piece of frozen poop into the house. How can a pup enjoy chewing on poop outside when it is so cold????? It only makes common sense to bring it into the warm house. Well, you should have seen Mommy's face! She was not happy and made me leave my beautiful treasure outside.

I want to thank all the pups who have been leaving bones for Jennifer and I. Before we went to Doggy Camp we noticed that we were almost out of bones and asked for help in filling our cupboard. All our Dogster buddies have come to our rescue and filled up our cupboard with bones. Now we won't be hungry. Thanks so much pups! We now have lots of bones for these cold winter nights!

I Am Home

I am home from doggy camp. Boy, did I ever have a good time! I played and played and played. All the people there really love me and they gave me so much play time. I am special because I am the first affenpinscher that they have ever seen. My Mommy got a really good report about me. They told Mommy that I am spunky like terrier and that they have never seen a doggy with so much attitude. They also told Mommy that I am full of energy and that I play from the time I get up until I go to bed. I also was a real good eater. None of this is a surprise to me because that is the way I am. Mommy is so proud of me!

My Mommy has the flu and she is really sick. She just made it home from her trip and within an hour of getting into the house she got sick. Now my job is to make sure that Mommy gets better. I am spending all my time laying in bed with Mommy and following her around when she does get up. I won't leave my Mommy's side at all! I cuddle with her and give her special "get well" kisses. Hopefully she will be feeling better in a few days.

What a Day!

What a day this has been! So many things are happening that it is hard for me to write about all of them.

I am now at Doggy Camp but I told my Mommy to type my diary. My Mommy has to go out of town for work early tomorrow so I had to go to Doggy Camp today. I am sure going to get lots of attention because there are not many doggies here right now. They said this is the slowest time of the year for them. It sure doesn't matter because this will be more attention and more treats for me! I think Jennifer and I will have a great time. Last time I was here I got so much attention because I must say I am sooo cute that they can't resist me. I am also special because the Camp has never had an affenpinscher before and everyone wants to see me.

We still haven't found our mystery rosette giver. I sure hope the other pups figure it out before I get home from camp.

Mommy looked in her e-mail and she got a beautiful christmas graphic of me from Tinker Belle and her Mommy. Thank-you so much for the beautiful picture Tinker Belle and Tinker Belle's Mommy! As soon as Mommy gets home I am going to make sure that she starts working on my Christmas page and puts up that beautiful picture.

Then I had even more good news. If you have been reading my diary you will know that I learned how to ring the bells to go outside. Mommy bought the bells from a company called "Poochie Bells". The "Pooche Bell" company has a contest where every month they award a "Poochie Star" award to one pup. Guess what???? I am the "Poochie Star" for the month of December. I won another set of "Poochie Bells" and I get my picture featured on their site for the month of December. Yahoo!!! I can hardly wait to see my picture. As soon as my picture is up I will give you more details.

Good-Bye for now pups and I will see you in week. Please don't forget about me!!! If you get a chance please give me some bones because I have almost run out. I sure don't want to be hungry when I get back!

Mystery Rosette

OMD!! I got a mystery anonymous rosette. I can't believe it!! This is what it says:

"Hello my dear friend...... Here is a rosette for you! This is just the beginning of the game. If you would like to know who I am just look around! You are 3 out of 10. Hint hint: Buckingham Palace."

All day we have been trying to figure out who our mystery rosette giver is. We have a thread going in the plus forum just for this. So far we have found 9 of the 10 clues. To summarize what we know:
1. whoever it is "has none"
2. there is carpet in their pictures
3. Buckingham Palace is connected somehow
4. Lives in the USA
5. Breed is not American
6. In a group that Mini is in
7. a boy or a girl dog
8. is a dog
9. is bigger then Gibbon

By the "look around" I would say it is somepup who is in the forums on a regular basis. I thought I had it solved and it was Mini but no he pupmailed and said it wasn't him.

Who is the mystery rosette donor??? Thanks to whoever it is! This is lots of fun.

Mommy Plays New Games

Life has been pretty quiet around here since I wrote last which was just a couple of days ago. Mommy has been home for most of the time. Last night we watched a movie and I actually didn't bug Mommy very much.

I did get Mommy to fill my kong with yogurt and freeze it - boy was that yummy! I will have to get her to do that again.

Mommy has sure been playing strange games. I love to play so I am happy to join her in any game that she wants. It started out with her laying on the floor and moving her feet all over. She said it is her physio exercises for her achelles heel. I wrote about this in a previous diary entry. I love to bounce on her and lick her to death when she is doing that. Next she started to soak her feet in this tub thing that plugs into the wall. It is full of water and when she turns it on it vibrates and bubbles all over. Boy, is that fun! I try to catch the bubbles and get my face wet. One of my favourite things is wet toes so I wait patiently until Mommy takes her feet out and then I attack the toes with licks! The next thing that Mommy did was go through my toys looking for a ball that bounces good. You will never believe what she does then!! She stands on one foot and bounces the ball from one hand and catches it with the other hand. She does that for awhile and then she switches feet. Boy, do I like that game! Sometimes I get the ball and take off with it. BOL!! She doesn't think it is that funny but I sure do. Mommy, who owns this ball anyways???? Right, it is MY ball so I can play with it. I wonder what new game Mommy is going to think up next??
