Exciting Days Again

I have had an exciting few days. On Tuesday the two washing machine fixer guys came again. They had previously come and fixed the machine but when Mommy went to use it it was still broken. :( This time they tested everything in the machine and concluded that it was still the same problem and we just got a faulty part. Now they have to order the same part again from Toronto. The good news is this won't cost Mommy any more money. To hold us over they moved the high efficiency washer out and put in our top loader so we can still do laundry. Mommy says she loves her top loader and if it wasn't that we have already paid to fix the high efficiency washer she would tell them to forget it. Anyways, after that lengthy explanation which I think Mommy made me bark more for the peepoles because pups don't care about this stuff, I must say that it did make for some good barking. Those guys were going in and out of the house getting things so bark, bark, bark, bark.... Then we woke up on Wednesday morning to our first snow. Mommy is extra worried because this makes it extra slippery for her to walk. She did go outside and shoveled the snow off our deck, the stairs of the deck and a small area (and I mean small) for me to potty. I want a bigger area for my potty but I might have to be satisfied with this because of Mommy's foot. Later in the morning the snow guy came for the first time and did our driveway and shoveled the front. This was good for some barking. In the afternoon the furnace repair guys came to service our furnace and heat exchanger thingy. It was again lots of barking because those guys kept going out to their truck. They have to order a part for the heat exchanger thingy so they will be back for more barking action. Today (Thursday) an occupational therapist came to visit Mommy. Her job was to make sure that Mommy was managing fine. Mommy is doing really well and the occupational lady didn't have to do anything. Mommy now walks quite a bit in the house with no cane. She has no trouble going in and out of the shower. Stairs are still difficult but we are hopeful that will improve. I barked at the occupational lady too. After the occupational lady left Mommy and I sat in the big chair and watched a Christmas movie on TV. Wonderful!

I wonder what will happen tomorrow?

Jelly, my momma is new to snow and fell down four times last year! OMD, snow is pretty to look at but the slippery ice is not fun. Momma saw an advertisement for some ice cleats that she can order to put on her shoes that are supposed to prevent/decrease the likelihood of slipping on ice. I wonder if something like this might help your momma stay upright and not twist or damage her foot more?

Coco Rose: My Mommy does have some of those ice cleat things. She is going to try them again. They are really hard to take off and on shoes so you mostly have to have a designated pair of shoes/boots just for the cleats and leave them on. The problem with them is you can't really drive in them and you can't walk on flooring with them because they are real slippery on flooring. They are good on ice. When you go out you end up taking two pairs of shoes with you, one pair for walking on the ice and one for driving and walking on flooring. Mommy also got a thing for the end of her cane that goes up and down as needed and it has five prongs that stick into the ice.

Bol, I didn't know there was such a thing as an "all season" cane which is what your Mommy's cane sounds like!

You have had great barkin lately! But I know your Mommy wants everything to be fixed and workin in your new place. Then your super barkin will be over.

We had a top loadin High Efficiency washer that never worked right. The repair guy was a dufus and couldn't fix it. Mommy says the machine was a lemon. Looked like a regular washer to me. She got rid of it and got an old fashioned machine with very little computer stuff.

Crikey, Jelly .... you lead such an exciting life. So many visitors ... so much barking. No-one comes to our house. AND snow!!!!!!!! Oh I so want to see snow. It's 35 degrees Celsius here today and oh so hot and uncomfortable. A bit of snow would cool us down, aye? Those cleat things sound like a good idea for your Mommy. Might just see if my Mum will put on a Christmas movie for us. I know she LOVES Christmas movies. She's Christmas mad. We might get to sit in the air conditioning for a bit.

Our top loader is 3.5 years old and has no computer stuff. The repair guy said you can't buy a machine like that any more. Mommy loves that machine.
