Likes: Playing, treats, other dogs, treats, being chased or chasing, treats, being outside off leash, treats and treats.
Pet-Peeves: When we go where she can't go but can still see us, not being allowed to chase squirrels and cats, leaving the dog park as another dog shows up, getting in trouble.
Favorite Toy: Chews, squeak toys; anything that can entice you to chase her or play with her.
Favorite Food: TREATS!! She also loves carrots, broccoli stems and apples.
Favorite Walk: The beach or on trails where she can be off leash and in the lead.
Best Tricks: She can ring the bell when she needs to go to the bathroom. She can sit, stay, come, dance, play dead and roll over depending on if there is a treat involved and she is in the mood.
Arrival Story: My husband and I had gone to dog shows for years and talked and talked about getting a dog. We had talked to breeders, but never made the move to get on a list for a puppy. One Christmas my husband decided to start emailing and the breeder completely surprised us by just happening to have a litter available. It was now or never; put up or shut up! The breeder picked her for us. We went to pick her up at 8 weeks and one of the first things she did was roll on her back and show us her fat puppy tummy. She has been our girl ever since!
Bio: We love our dog! She's our kid! Her exuberance, playfulness and love has been such a joy. We travel with her, kayak with her, hike with her. She is always ready for anything. She is brave and funny and cute as they get. She lives up to her name by being such a little tomboy and always wanting to be in front checking things out. She is mistaken for a boy all the time.
She loves to play with other dogs, all shapes and sizes. She grew up with a big retriever boyfriend down the street. He was bigger and stonger but she used her speed and size to her advantage. She's a smart girl. She loves to roughhouse and wrestle. Getting pinned down only fires her up more.
Scout doesn't really bark much, but definitely communicates with her eyes, body language and assorted funny squeaks and grrrrr's. She can go into a kiss your face off frenzy (you're home!!!) that is hysterical. She is always in a good mood, but sometimes a girl needs her space.
She was so happy when her sister came to live with us and she had someone to play with. It was Scout more than anything that got Tully to come out of her shell and start having fun. What a role model!

It's that time of year!: href="http://www.blinkyou.com/glitters.php" target="_blank">
I turned 5 today and if I do say so myself I am coming into my prime. I'm darn cute, I'm obedient without being obsequious, I am not shy about making my needs known and I have perfected the art of a well placed auditory request.
My whine and I have matured into sublime perfection.
Oh, what is that...it's w-i-n-e that ages nicely?
Hmmm, that does change things a bit.
When planning my morning constitutional, I like to make my deposits at the faaaaar end of the leash. I will cover the maximum real estate, sniff around, circle, sniff some more...no not quite right...a little further out, maybe over to the left...assume the posi...no not yet, sniff, circle...really I'm almost there...ahhh.
It's unfortunate that my creations end up in biodegradable bags rather than in their natural biodegradable state, but humans seem to have an unnatural obsession with our movements.
I also like to make sure I place my Scoutness in as many different locations as possible.
That's just the kind of girl I am.
Yes, that's right the same brazen feline that lounges around in our back yard taunting me with their orange nonchalance is none other than the neighborhood cat burgler!!
Mom notices that dads outdoor flip flop is looking a little chewed and he notices the other one is gone, which reminds him that the neighbor had asked him before if he was missing one. This led us straight to the criminals house to reclaim the other gnawed on shoe. According to his accomplice, apparently this is a habitual thing.
Nobody's safe!! Call the police!! Throw his furry butt in jail!!
Disappointingly, mom and dad declined to press charges, but are going to be very careful about their flip flops in the future.
