Birthday: November 12th 2004 Likes: Playing, treats, other dogs, treats, being chased or chasing, treats, being outside off leash, treats and treats. Pet-Peeves: When we go where she can't go but can still see us, not being allowed to chase squirrels and cats, leaving the dog park as another dog shows up, getting in trouble. Favorite Toy: Chews, squeak toys; anything that can entice you to chase her or play with her. Favorite Food: TREATS!! She also loves carrots, broccoli stems and apples. Arrival Story: My husband and I had gone to dog shows for years and talked and talked about getting a dog. We had talked to breeders, but never made the move to get on a list for a puppy. One Christmas my husband decided to start emailing and the breeder completely surprised us by just happening to have a litter available. It was now or never; put up or shut up! The breeder picked her for us. We went to pick her up at 8 weeks and one of the first things she did was roll on her back and show us her fat puppy tummy. She has been our girl ever since! Bio: We love our dog! She's our kid! Her exuberance, playfulness and love has been such a joy. We travel with her, kayak with her, hike with her. She is always ready for anything. She is brave and funny and cute as they get. She lives up to her name by being such a little tomboy and always wanting to be in front checking things out. She is mistaken for a boy all the time.
She loves to play with other dogs, all shapes and sizes. She grew up with a big retriever boyfriend down the street. He was bigger and stonger but she used her speed and size to her advantage. She's a smart girl. She loves to roughhouse and wrestle. Getting pinned down only fires her up more.
Scout doesn't really bark much, but definitely communicates with her eyes, body language and assorted funny squeaks and grrrrr's. She can go into a kiss your face off frenzy (you're home!!!) that is hysterical. She is always in a good mood, but sometimes a girl needs her space.
She was so happy when her sister came to live with us and she had someone to play with. It was Scout more than anything that got Tully to come out of her shell and start having fun. What a role model! Forums Motto: I\'ll do anything for a treat! I finally made the papers and not in the arrest log either! Check us out with the Drool is Cool folks at the Dog Walk. I don't know if they got my best side, but when you are sitting next to a 6 foot dog maybe it doesn't matter.
Mom seems to think I'm a little too independent for her own good and from time to time I have been known to not play well with others. She shared with me the following results of an online test as if this proves something:
"Your Canine Behavior Type Index is
SBH - Adventurer
Your dog is a Spontaneous, Beta and High Activity type which we call the Adventurer. The Adventurer regularly challenges the social order, routine and environmental orderliness. It constantly searches for new social and environmental standards. It is highly competitive with plenty of energy and a playful spirit but not great at group activities."
I turned 5 today and if I do say so myself I am coming into my prime. I'm darn cute, I'm obedient without being obsequious, I am not shy about making my needs known and I have perfected the art of a well placed auditory request.
My whine and I have matured into sublime perfection.
Oh, what is that...it's w-i-n-e that ages nicely?
Hmmm, that does change things a bit.
