Arrival Story:
Ratbone was contacted about this sweet old guy in May of 2005. His mom died and he was being boarded until the executor of the will could find out what to do with him. Ratbone took him in and he went to Delaware for fostering.
He was in fostercare for a long time and was finally adopted in January of 2006, just as he was turning 14 years old. Unfortunately, his adopter decided to list him for sale on the internet (for 50% MORE than she paid for him, no less). So Ratbone had to come reclaim the dog. He was not in good shape -- skinny and covered in fleas. Poor skin condition: patches of missing hair, crusty yeast. Poor guy.
Sonny was suffering from months of poor care. He had flea allergies and food allergies, as well as secondary skin infections. He is now on antibiotics to help him recover and he is on quality food that will help him to bounce back. He's also be getting lots of omega oils to repair his skin and coat.
This is a sad sad story. I'm betting that another stint in fostercare is going to fix this guy RIGHT up. He's so worthy of a forever home to live out his golden years.

Hi, I'm Sonny Delight. I was originally in fostercare because my mommy died, and nobody in her family could care for me. I don't know why -- I'm a GREAT dog! Luckily, I ended up in rescue. I am 14 years old, but don't let my age fool you...I get around just fine. I am housetrained, cratetrained and very easy-going. I love to relax most of all! I do have a grade 4 heart murmur that doesn't need any special attention right now. I'm good with children and other dogs. I weigh 15 lbs. and have a full tail and short legs. I hope someone special out there wants to have their life and heart brightened up by an older (but awesome!) dog like me...they don't call me Sonny Delight for nothing!
**Sadly, Sonny passed away December 2006. He is very lovingly missed by all his friends....**
