Don't Like That "Coon"

Momma goes out every night now, and I don't like it. She goes out to these "baseball games" and explains that she has "season tickets", but I don't see the big deal, because I've been to one of those things before and they're really not all that fun. And I'm really jealous because she always cheers for them and she doesn't even cheer for me anymore when I make a potty outside. She always shouts at them, "Dah-las!" and "Aaaaamalio!" and "Ah-bell" and especially "Cooooooon!" And I'm really mad because she talks about that "Coon" a whole lot. Don't see why he's so special. Mom says it's cause he's really fast and really good, but I'm fast and really good and Momma isn't always shouting, "Preeeeetzie!" And now she's all sad n' stuff because Dallas quit. And she all sad around me. Dummie. He's just some guy on a white square on a bunch of grass. And dirt. And through all of this, there is nowhere to poop! Not fair. Plus, she feeds them. Every month, at what she calls a "potluck". And I bet she gives them more than three-quarters of a cup.

I don't like that Coon.

Love,
Pretzie

Miss My Momma

This Thursday my Momma leaves for San Francisco, wherever that is, and she says she's going to be gone for four whole days. At first I wasn't sure how long that was, but Momma explained that it was eight whole feeding times and I thought, Wow, that's a long time. I'm going to miss her so much... who's gonna feed me at 4 in the afternoon? Momma told me I'll just have to wait until 7, when Gampa comes home. 7! That's 3 hours off schedule! Me and sissy Jincy are gonna starve! I hope my Momma has fun in San Fernando or Francisco or Ferdanan or wherever but I'm gonna miss her and she knows I'm not gonna be happy. I love my Momma-- I don't want her to go!!!

Sissy Made Her Comback!

My sister, Jincy, has done an amazing thing. She is about 15 years old, lame, and basically deaf. Yesterday, Jincy wanted to come out onto the patio from the grass. There is a big, metal gate dividing the two areas of our back yard. But anyways, somehow the gate got shut, and Jincy really wanted to bask in the sun on the patio. So Momma went outside, and opened the gate, and something amazing happened! Jincy, old lame and deaf Jincy, ran!! She skipped! And she did it happily, like a puppy! She ran away from Momma, and Momma was in shock, so she decided to try to call Jincy. She called her name, and normally she wouldn't respond, but this time she did!! She turned around and looked at Momma in the face! Then, to even my Corgi surprise, she did something even more amazing-- she sat when Momma told her to sit, and then she did the most enthusiastic "shake-a-paw" I have even seen! She hasn't done that in years! And she used two paws! Oh, thank Dog, my sister is back!!! I can't wait to go play! YAYYYYYYY!

Running with the BIG Dogs!

Last weekend I went with Momma and Gampa on a long, long, car trip to a place they called "Sacramento". I met up with my cousin James, a Border Collie, and my cousin Lucy, a Maltese mix. The three of us went to this ranch were there was a REALLY REALLY BIG Great Dane mix there. His name was Louie, and although he was really big and looked intimadating, he acted like a huge puppy. Momma actually rode him for twenty minutes! Louie came bounding towards you happily whenver you called his name, and when you pet him he shifted his weight against you and knocked you over. He actually got so excited that he pinned my Momma to the car! There were also two other dogs-- old dogs. One was a Chow mix named Jackson, and another was a good old mutt, but I never learned his name. I actually saw about twelve or thirteen really, really, really, really big dogs that Momma called "horses." I ran into a big pen where one of them was running because I wanted to smell it, but it got scared and started chasing me and trying to run me over! Momma panicked alot, and started screaming my name and screaming, "COOKIE! C'MON, GET A COOKIE!" At that note, I came out of the pen and ran after Momma, who really didn't have a cookie but just wanted me to get out of there. Then, we went near another "horse" and I almost got stepped on, because Momma's aunt Jill was trying to rope a horse and it didn't want to be roped, so it kept running around and around, and almost hit me! I even put my ears back in panic! Momma called my name, and I ran straight at her because I was so scared! Then Momma rode a "horse" called Lily, and she had alot of fun taking her around what looked like an enormous agility course. "Steeple chase," Momma called it. At the end of the day, though, I was as tired as ever... and my right front paw hurt a little from running around so much, that I sported a limp a little. It's gone now... thank Dog.

Have you noticed? I have four rosettes and one star-- from someone I don't know! Well, maybe I DO know who sent me them, but they won't reveal their identity! I've never gotten so many rosettes in my life! And 32 BONES? And a STAR? It's my lucky day! I'm so happy! So wherever you are, thanks! Slobbery kisses for you!

Yay! I did it! I was so scared, but I did it-- I got spayed! I'm so happy it's over and done with. I got fixed on November 28, 2006, at 8:35 in the morning. Everything went smoothly, and I so happy that I'm home now. I had to stay overnight when the surgery was over, and I missed my Momma and Gampa so much. The next day, that Wednesday, was really really windy. I was still sedated a little when Momma picked me up and led me outside, and it didn't even occur to me that everything was blowing around! I'm all better now, and I don't need to wear a lampshade because of my stitches. I'm going back in about a week to get them removed. I can't wait!!!!!!

My Boyfriend Part 2

Okay, so I just wanna let you know that if you haven't read my previous entry about my boyfriend, you should read it before you read this. His name was Homer, and we was great.
Okay, read that little tid bit about how much I love him? Good. Now let's get to the gossip.
Monday, Momma found out that Homer wasn't a Homer. Homer is now a Sophie, and Sophie is a little girl. We had always known something was a little off, but Homer's mom never really believed us, just kind of thought he looked weird 'cause he was a baby. Well, that wasn't the case, and now Homer is a Sophie and I don't have a boy friend anymore but a best friend. SOPHIE. Not Homer, but SOPHIE. I'll miss my boyfriend, but I guess these weird things happen in life, but oh well. Sophie's a Sophie, not a Homer, and I'll just have to deal.

In three weeks Gampa goes on a really really long business trip. It's two days, but because Momma can't take care of me that weekend, it's gonna seem like forever! I was gonna go to my breeder for the weekend, but she's gonna be gone for the 2006 Speacialty Show up North. Now I have to go stay with one of my Aunties that lives far away. I've only met her three times, and she seems nice, but she's got other dogs-- BIG dogs. I don't know if I can stand up to them! It's gonna be really scary leaving my Momma for a whole weekend. I'll cry the whole time! I WANT MY MOMMA!!!!! I'm really scared. If any of you other home sick Corgis read this, won't you bark me and tell me what Momma can do to make me feel better while she's gone?

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Buy me some string cheese and Bil Jac....
I DON'T CARE IF I GET PEOPLE SNACKS!!
Momma and Gampa took me to a minor league baseball game on the eighth of August... it was "Bark in the Park" day to help promote the bad place where homeless doggies go. I had so much fun, though, and Momma shared her... her... what was it called... warm... no.. hot dog! That's it! She shared her hot dog with me and it tasted reaaaalllllyyyyy good. I was confused though, it didn't look like a dog or puppy at all. It just looked like a hunk of meat with bread and red stuff. "Ketchup," Momma told me when I licked it from her fingers. "And you shouldn't be eating too much of it." But what was a dog supposed to do? Momma, dumbo, had forgotten the cookies! My Gooberlicious Dog Treats were still on the counter at home!! Oh well, I still had fun. Momma even got a picture of me looking out at the game. It's the third piture down on the page.
While we were there, I met some pretty interesting doggies...
One was a Boxer named Rilo or Riley or something like that, but I didn't like him very much. He kept thumping me on the head with his giant paws. It kinda hurt, and every time he tried to do it again, Momma and Gampa would laugh and say, "Fffwwwhommmppp!" Gampa joked and said that's probably why they call them Boxers....
I also met a little Pomeranian dressed up in a blue sweater and carried around in one of those dog kennel purses. I didn't get it. What's a dog like her doing at a baseball game? It didn't make sense. Shouldn't she bark with all the other dogs when they played "Who Let the Dogs Out?" Eating her fancy Ceasar while the rest of us have a good dog or brawt or whatever sounds more, well, doggish. Pfffffftttt. Girly girls don't belong at baseball games. She was probably checking out the other dogs.
The last doggies I met were a Yellow Lab and his girl friend, a black Setter. I didn't catch their names, but they were nice. And they smelled good. Like how a real dog should smell like.
Anyways, the game was fun. I hope I can go again sometime.

"Take me out to the ball game,
Were all the dogs bark loud,
Buy me some string cheese and Bil Jac,
I don't care if I get people snacks,
For it's root! root! root! for the hot dogs,
If I get none it's a shame,
For it's one! two! three! strikes you're out!
At the old ball game!"

All this grass and nowhere to poop.........
