We are deeply, horribly sad that Tillie left us on July 20th, 2006, so soon after our beloved Clyde… She had had kidney failure for almost two years, which mysteriously did not affect her enthusiasm and sweet personality. But it took its toll, and the sadness of not having Clyde’s companionship contributed, we think, to a rapid deterioration the last week. My daughter who lives in England with her husband provided great support and encouragement through the wonders of the Web Cam, while the one who is here and I showered Tillie with so much extra love, car rides, and distractions. She rallied as best she could, until fatigue took over, as well as discomfort beyond reason or fairness. Both she and Clyde slipped so peacefully to puppy heaven… We like to think of them bounding with irrepressible joy together again, and meeting our former pets as well as rejoining their human daddy. Very sad times for us. However, we will not wallow in tearfulness, but rather embrace the myriad memories of their happy lives with us, and their undisputed love, loyalty and patience!
We had been looking for a puppy to keep Tillie company, and now we have found one that we are confident would have met with her approval. Somehow we think Clyde might have been more skeptical! We will start a dogster page for him soon.
Meanwhile, we think of her and Clyde with so much love and gratitude – more than can possibly be expressed!
A huge thank you to all of you who asked and or accepted to be her buddies!! We will continue to enjoy your pics and entries.

The 4th of July is Independence Day in America. But the 3rd my mum and sis actually took me with them to the waterfront of Lake Michigan enjoy some BBQ (I snarfed an entire hamburger!!!) with their friends and see the fireworks. It was the first time in years for such an expedish, as when my closest buddy Clyde was around, loveable as he was he tended to be over-protective of me, so not always gracious to other four-footed friends. As a result I met many new wags, and was even not tooooo overwhelmed by the hugest Great Dane my mums had ever set eyes on! He was actually very cool, and sweet. By the time the fireworks began, I was laid out for a deep snooze, and never flinched. Apparently they were lovely, from all I heard... What a grand day! My mum and my sister are so loving - with all cuties and not so cuties, including cats, three of which share my home.
I am one contented lady! :D
