Queen of my Domain - or at least I *should* be!

Greetings and Salutations!

My life has been full of changes the last few weeks. You'd THINK that, as the Queen of the house, my humans would at least *consult* with me about these changes, but they go on about doing their own thing without giving any thought to who's *really* in charge.

The hardest part has been losing my brother, Sabaka. He wasn't always the brightest boy, but he was my brother and I miss him very much. He liked to play with me, but was always gentle - unlike this new little kid my humans have brought home. Oh, I know, I didn't always play gentle when I was his age, either (lo these many years gone by), and I'm sure he'll learn soon enough, but until then, he is *quite* unsufferable! ::harumph:: I must say, though, that when the humans took him out the other day and brought him back again, I was very happy to see him. You see, one day they just took Sabaka away and he never came back. It's good to know that's not what always happens when someone goes out that big white door!

Anyway, this new kid - they call him Xander - is the other big change, and, honestly, I'm not sure what to make of him. I have no idea why he doesn't seem to realize that this is MY house, but he doesn't. I'll have to work on setting him straight on that count, won't I? Truthfully, he can be kind of sweet at times, and I do worry about him when I hear Piper - a cat who seems to think SHE'S the queen - hissing at him, and try to help him out. But when he gets a belly full of energy going, it's all I can do to find a nice quiet corner he doesn't know about, and where there's nothing interesting to chew on!

Speaking of which, I'd best go find that corner now... looks like the little terror just woke up. ::sigh::
