Arrival Story:
Winston was an 8-year old rescue, his owner had a new job requiring lots of travel and he was left alone all the time. He deserved a better life, and we found him on PetFinder after a long search for Corgis. Our first corgi, Ruben, passed away 12 years ago, and it took us that long to get over his death and look for another corgi. Winston came to us one Saturday afternoon, delivered in a pick-up truck, sitting on top of a huge pile of sleeping bags like the king of the world. He bounded out and into our home and hearts immediately. Oh, sure we had some adjustment issues the first 3 months - he and the cat did not get along, and still don't - but after getting use to our routine, Winston settled down and now AROOOs when we come home and when he's happy.

Bio:
After 7 year of living with us, we had to make the painful decision of sending Winston to the Rainbow Bridge. He had begun loosing use of his left back leg and could no longer enjoy the long walks or running on the beach or even climbing up onto the couch to look outside the window. We tried to make the last few months of his life as comfortable as possible, but when he began to loose the ability to control his bladder (every 2 hours i had to pick him up and carry him outside to pee/poo, even in the middle of the night), we decided it was time. All he had wanted to do was sleep on his pillow all day and eat his meals, anything else was too much for him to handle. Winston was 15 years old and we will miss him terribly.

My Favorite Winter Bed

My Favorite Winter Bed

When the weather turns cool and I need a warm place to rest my bones, I jump into my favorite rust-colored pillow-bed! I love this bed because it was a welcome-home present from my mom when she adopted me 3 years ago. It matches my fur color and it's fuzzy, big, and comfy! I could lie on this bed all day, and only get up when I have to pee or eat my dinner. Sometimes it gets so cold that mom puts a blanket on me - which is kinda silly since I have thick fur, but she likes to spoil me, so how can I say no to a blanket? Besides, the photo makes me look really cute. Sure, I have other places I like to sleep on--the couch, my folks' king-sized bed--but this big rust-colored pad is my #1 favorite to sleep on during winter.
