Arrival Story:
Found Trout on the highway waiting to be run over. Probably abandoned, since no one came looking for him. We tried to find him a home and guess he just chose us to be his family. He was actually Bizzy's (our first dog) pet. He adored Bizzy, and mourned for months after she died at 16 years.

Trout is now the King of the 17 sled dogs at our house and keeps them all in line. He has taught them to be good inside and not to chase cats. Trout is slowing down and not running on the team so much these days. He very much likes to ride on the sled, and jumps off on steeper sections to give the team a boost. He is a very good boy, and we are glad he chose us! Oh, and much to my husband's dismay, Trout is a true MOMMA'S BOY!

Forums Motto:
I'm A Good Boy!

During a routine blood test in April 2007, the vets noticed that Trout's kidneys were starting to fail. We were extra careful about what he ate, his amount of activity, fluids, herbs, and suppliments to try to keep him feeling good as long as we could. In March it was evident that although his spirit wanted to continue on, his body just could not. He passed over the Rainbow Bridge on March 9, 2008 to join his beloved Bizzy and other friends on the other side. There is a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. Rest easy, my good boy! I will see you again.
