My Mom is LAZY!!!

She's gone more than a month without writing down my stuff here! Well, to be honest, there hasn't been a whole lot to tell you about until today.. mostly just hanging out around the house, chasing things, and sleeping.

Yesterday we went back to the vet for more shots. I weigh 15 lbs now! Just think, I was barely 2 lbs when I came to live here... I'm really growing! It must be all that great food Mom gives me. I had to get some more of those crappy ol' shots in my butt, but this time I was a brave puppy, and didn't cry at all! Mom says it's because she got to hold me this time.

Mom's putting me on the leash and taking me for little walks now. Not very far, because there are a lot of other dogs out there running loose - She says once I get my rabies shot we can hang out at the park more. And I'm all like... 'WHAT??? How many dang shots does a puppy gotta deal with? '

I've gotten too big for my crate, but I still like curling up in it at night. I probably won't be able to do that anymore in another couple of weeks. Mom says she's gonna get me a new one, the good kind... with a door on it.

I finally figured out this whole 'where to poop' thing. And as long as they leave the door open, we're cool. Of course, if the doors shut, and I scratch to go out, and nobody hears me... That's THEIR problem, amirite?? I'm mostly good though, Mom knows around when I need to go, and usually makes sure I do. Today was my first 'accident' this week. Dad was pretty mad last week... he laid his backpack down on the floor, and I peed on it. I don't know WHY!!!! I think I may have confused it with the paper I pee on outside. I was just very confused. I'm always confused when Mom goes somewhere, I like it that she's here with me almost all day all the time. But, I'm also very good when I'm alone. Other than tearing up the palm tree (those fronds were just toooo tempting, waving in the wind) I've been very well behaved. The dog upstairs whines and cries and barks all the time, but I don't do ANY of that sissy stuff. I'm a Good Dog!

Well, I'm gonna get back to what I do best... Napping! Don't forget to check out, I added new pictures! Bark at'cha later!

Tragedy! (of a sort)

My dobie's leg ripped off while I was playing tug with him. I'm very sad. I guess life will go on, and mom says she'll find me a better toy to play with. For now, I'll just make do with my teething bone. It doesn't snuggle like the dobie did, though. )c:

In other news, I'm growing soooooo fast! When I first got here, I only needed half of my bed... now I stretch all the way across it!

I've been getting in a lot of trouble lately for nipping and growling. Everytime I do it, I get the big NO! and sometimes even a time out. Don't they know I'm just trying to play?

I've started playing with a big ball, too. Well, it's big compared to me... everybody laughs and says how adorable it is, so I better keep that up!

Well, I guess it's naptime.... Bark at'cha later!

Fetchin' and Poopin'

That's pretty much what I've done this week.

I've discovered the joy to be had in running after my dobie and bringing it back! Mom throws it, and I'll chase after it until I'm so pooped I just lay down right in the middle of running. When I go get it, I run so fast that I can't stop, and go sliding across the floor. Mom says it looks like I'm sliding into home, but I don't really know what that means. (sometimes I think she's a little goofy) It sure is fun!

On the not so fun part, I've been doing a lot of poopin that's not making Mom real happy. I can't figure it out... when I do it out on the paper, she's thrilled! But when catches me doing it in the hallway, she gets mad. What's the difference? I don't know. So now I try to do it when nobody's looking. It's hard, because somebody's almost ALWAYS looking. Well, I'll figure it out soon.

I'm pretty excited... Today the boys are coming back! It's gonna be so much fun having them to play with again. Their gonna be really surprised when they see how much I've grown while they were gone!

That's it for now... Bark at'cha later!

Our Trip to the Vet

Well. This was not the fun experience I was hoping for.

Actually, it all started out really exciting. Mom took me out the front door! My first time out in the real world since I got here! It was a little scary, because there were cars and trucks passing as walked down the sidewalk, but I felt pretty safe in my mom's arms. She told me we were going to the 'school' to get David, my oldest brother. Boy was I happy to see him! I couldn't stop my butt from wiggling!

Then, we started walking. There was lots of noise, and cars, and people, and food... I didn't know there was so much stuff in the world! Finally, we got to a big yellow building that said 'Veterinarian' outside. AND IT WAS FULL OF DOGS!!! I was SOOO excited! I wanted to play with everybody!! But my mom wouldn't let me down. She said I wasn't vaccinated yet, so it wasn't safe. I felt pretty special though.. even with all those other dogs, everybody was smiling at me, and saying how cute I was.

Then, the Dr. called my name. Hubba hubba, he was a cutie! Well, for a human. And he smelled pretty good, too! My mom talked to him some.. and I wanted to die when she mentioned the tapeworms. How embarrassing... I meet a cute guy and she tells him about these things crawling out of my butt. It didn't seem to bother him, though.. he kept right on smiling. I got weighed, a whole 3 lbs now!

Then... suddenly.. There was this stabbing in my butt.... I started SCREAMING! It burned! NOW I know what vaccinations are. Mom says its important, to keep me healthy, but it felt like somebody was trying to kill me, if you ask me! But, it was over quick. I crawled up in mom's arms, and took some medicine that the Dr. said would kill the tapeworms, so that's cool... no more getting laughed at when I scratch my butt on the floor. He said I still can't go to the park yet. And the good news was that he said I wouldn't have to worry about heartworms! It seems they aren't a problem here where we live. Mom says they're real bad where she's from in Florida (wherever THAT is).

Well, its been a ruff day... I think I need to curl up with my blankie and dobie and have a nap. YAAAWWWWN. Bark at'cha later!

My First Week with the Famitly

I came to my new house late Monday night, and it's been a very exciting week!

I was really scared the first night. I went to sleep, but woke up at 1 in the morning to find everything dark, and no one around. I started hollering for them at the top of my lungs! The lady, who I've learned is my mom now, came and got me and took me outside to make potty... what a relief! I was afraid I'd have to hold it all night! But then... surprise! She put me right back in that crate! I was not happy about that, and I started telling her about it. I couldn't figure out why she was leaving me closed up in a crate, while she and the dad were up in a nice soft bed! Finally, she saw things my way, and carried me out to the living room, where we curled up on the couch and slept the rest of the night together. That's more like it!

The next night, she let me know right away that was NOT going to be routine. Instead, she moved my crate right next to the bed. Now, when I cry, she puts a hand down for me to sniff, so I know she's still right there beside me. It's not exactly snuggled in the bed together, but at least I know I'm not alone. It's helping me sleep thru the night much better, although I'm so little, I still need to go outside and potty once or twice in the night.

I've got 2 brothers... the 2 legged kind. They're SOOOOO much fun!!! They play with me, and kiss me, and tug on the rope with me! I love to chase them up and down the hall, then we all slide across the slippery wood floor.

I also found out.. being alone isn't all that bad. The first time mom left me alone, I sort of turned into a whimper, whining, howling mess. But.. now I've figured out that when she leaves, she comes back! So I've left that baby stuff behind. I like it when she puts me on the back patio, and I can curl up on the warm tile in a little patch of sun. And i've got a little newspaper out there where I can go potty if I need to. I'm doing my best with that, but sometimes I miss the paper a little. Mom says I'll catch on soon enough.

All in all, it's been a very exciting week for a dog my age. I just turned 6 weeks old on Monday. I found out also, we're going to the vet tomorrow! That sounds like fun! Errr... can someone tell me though... What's a vet?
