My daughter and I.
Jessie used to love to come on trail rides with us when we rode.
We had recently lost our first OES, Brandy, to old age, and missed ahving a sheepdog in our lives. One day there was an ad in the local paper--someone was giving away a purebred, registered, OES. Seems the dog was getting too snappish around their toddler. I was disappointed to find out that the dog had already been given away, but I left my number just in case.
A few days later, I got a call--the dog, Jessie, had been returned!! The other people were afraid of her as she was still growly and snapping. My teenaged daughter and I went to see Jessie, fell in love, and brought her home. She was always nothing but a joy to us.
Jessie loved to go to horse shows with us. Although she was getting very old, became deaf, and had arthritis, we wanted to give her one last summer of shows.
In September of 1997, I knew it was time and made the sad appointment wiith the vet. She was to go in at 5:00. Instead, she waited till I got home from work and, always loving me and making her passing easier on me, she died on her own.
I still miss and love her.
