Article 1: We puppies have the right to relocate any and all household objects left in within our reach. This includes all shoes, toys, slippers etc..to any place we see fit. There is no need for us to inform the owners of these objects as to their whereabouts....It's fun to watch them looking anyway...
Article 2: We Puppy's have the right to choose where we ' do our business'. We are not required in any way to ask mom if her jute rug is a good spot...she should have thought of that before I came home.
Article 3: We have the right to chew anything and anyone within our reach. Just because chew toys are provided to us does in no way mean that we must chew only them. We may at any time decide to instead chew the furniture, magazines, cabinets or, my personal favorite...wicker baskets.
Article 4: We have the right to be played with and cuddled at any time! This includes times when our family is sleeping, eating, doing chores, homework etc... If our family does not respect the above-mentioned article, we have the right to whine and cry until they do.
Article 5: We have the right to walk on a leash along side our family BUT we also reserve the right to decide which direction our family goes. We also reserve the right to, instead of walking, sniff one area for 15 minutes (or until we are satisfied), lie down, chew our leash, chase bugs, eat any garbage we may come across etc...
Article 6: If is smells bad.... We Puppies have the right, and more importantly, the responsibility to roll in it.
Article 7: We Puppies have the right to chase, sniff, bark at and in all other ways torment any and all cats that live in our house. However, if said cats retaliate we have the right to be picked up and comforted by our family...even though we SO deserved it.
These are the rights we as puppies reserve henceforth. Please note that new articles may be added or existing ones changed at any time without the consent of our families...

I'm getting kind of used to my mom picking me up and bringing me outside...I'm pretty sure she wants me to pee out there, but today was different. She brought me outside and everything was soaking wet!! There was water falling from the sky so hard I could hardly keep my eyes open. I ran back to the front door...I figured mom had just made a mistake bringing me out here...but she followed me and brought me back to my pee spot!! I just stared at her through the waterfall that was now cascadeing down my snout. I heard her saying the 'pee' word but I just headed right back to the door...I mean she was kidding right?? She didn't actually want me to pee out THERE did she?? Finally I think she caught on that this was a bad idea and brought me back into the house. I got all dried up and warm...and then went pee on the floor. I'm not sure, but I think this made her kind of mad because before I knew it I was outside in the rain again!! Humans are so unpredictable.....

2 weeks ago my husband and I drove 4 hours to southern VT to visit our new puppy, then only 6 wks old and not quite ready to come home. When the breeder showed us to the kennel we were greeted by 11 other Cardigan Welsh Corgi puppies all very rambuncious and eager for our attention. Only one puppy was hanging back, looking up at us as if to say " have you finally come for me? These other puppies are driving me crazy!" We recognized this one from the pictures..this was our Pippin. We called him over and he came right to us...I wasn't sure how I would ever leave without taking this sweet little dog with me. We spent a liitle under an hour getting to know him and then it was time to go. With a few wet kisses and a promise to return in 2 weeks we departed feeling torn having to leave him.
May 5th my husband drove back to VT, and after figuring out how to assemble a dog crate in his small SAAB..was ready to bring Pippin home!! It was a great day...our kids had waited so long to have their puppy come home. My 10 year old son actually teared up when he came home from school and saw Pippin for the first time. Pippin knew he was home right away! He walked right in and laid down on his new dogbed!! He is already a member of the family and we are SO happy to have him home! (although the cats are still AWOL)
So the first few dyas have gone well, we are actively housetraining (last night we only went out 3 times!!) We love walking Pippin into town, he has so many friends already ( 2 legged and 4 legged). And even at 2:30 in the morning standing in the cold CT rain waiting for him to do his 'buisness' I can't help but smile at this precious new addition to our family!
