Soggy Doggy II

It's still raining!! WAAAAAA! Dad said I'm gonna have mushrooms growing outta my fur if it keeps up much longer....

I got to play with Apple & Bailey last evening :) *WOOF* it was fun 'cept that it was hard to run and turn on the wet grass. I kept slidin' and fallin' down and got my nice new trimmed coat all wet and dirty :( Dad towelled me off and brushed me out :) and I got lots of strokes and kisses from Mom.

I just wanna see the sun so I can lay outside on the grass and feel nice and warm and watch the ants....

Soggy Doggy

I'M SOAKED!!!

Its been raining here so hard and for so long that I'm mildewed :( Dad's been taking me out for walks but its not so much fun cos I'm so wet. Its so wet that I can't even go in the lake! WAaaaaaa!

Dad's got me wrapped up in a nice warm towel and the sun's peeking out....maybe I can really run and play tomorrow, WHEEEE!

A visit from my Nephew Pike

I had a wonderful surprise the other day. Dad's son Matt brought my cousin Pike to visit. Pike's only 10 weeks old [that means he's a baby] but he's sorta big and goofy cos he's a lab. Dad says he's a "chocolate" lab, but its OK if I lick him 'cos he's not REAL chocolate!

Pike's a LOT of fun. He chased me and bit my tail, and bit my ears, and bit my belly, and chewed on my paws. Did I mention that he has sharp teeth. But he's really young so I let him do that even when it hurt.

I let him push me around and knock me down too. We ran and ran and ran. Pike met the neighbors and they thought he was "cute". HUH! They think that I'm pretty...so there!

We took Pike up to the big walking field at Colby college. He met Bailey, Apple, Louie, and Reily. He was sorta scared of them at first but then he ran and played and tumbled through the grass. I couldn't see him at times, just his tail sticking up...hee hee.

When we got home Pike was hungry and so was I. We got fed then jumped up on the couch. Pike snuggled up with me and he feel asleep so fast! He was so sleepy that Dad could pick him up and he didn't wake up! BTW, Pike snores!!!

Dad's gonna post a couple of new pictures of me & Pike. I hope all my doggy pals like them. Thats it for now.

Grandpa comes to dinner!

Double happy woofs! My Grandpa visited today and had dinner w/ Dad & Mom. Grandpa spoils me and tells me I'm a perfect boy *wag* *wag* and he gives me the best ear scratches. He watched me play w/ my toys and my Kong ^chew^^chew^ then he gave me more pats and ear rubs. I got up on the couch and snuggled up with Grandpa, he likes it when I rest my head on his lap. Grandpa really really loves me and I love him too!!!

Keggers, Sticks and Stuff

Dad took me, Bailey and Apple up to "the College" today. Its graduation weekend [whatever that means]. When we got to the parking lot there were lots of people. There was lots of noise and thumpy sounds. It seemed like lots of the people were very happy. When Dad let us out we all ran over to make friends. The people liked us, I could hear Dad calling for us, but there was LOTS of good smells. We hightailed it to the big building w/ all the thumpy sounds. There were some nice smokey boxes that gave off wonderful smells. Then Apple stepped on some cups, we quickly started licking it up, 'cept it wasn't water! It tasted GOOD! Some of the people were laughing and pointing. They kept yelling "Kegger, Kegger, Kegger", I thought it was a name. Then Dad got to us made us leave...I bet we coulda gotten some of that good smell food too!

Later in the day I helped Dad cleaning up the yard. Well, I sorta helped....I mean I tried to help. Dad was putting all sorts of old sticks in the yard cart. I watched for a while and chewed on some tasty twigs. Then, while Dad was cutting up some big sticks I saw a really good looking twig hanging out of the cart. I knew I could help if I just pulled it out so Dad could put it back in.... so I gave a tug...nothing, so I gave a bigger tug!....still nothing!!! So I gave a really BIG tug....YIPYIPYIP! The cart tipped over!! Dad shouted, then he started to laugh. He lauged really hard. He sat down and called me. I knew I was in trouble.... He rubbed my ears and hugged me. He smiled and laughed again. He got up and shook his head, then tipped the cart up and piled all the old sticks back in it. I found the good juicy stick and went back to chewing it...

When Dad was done with the cart and the sticks he sat down on the house stairs. I came and sat next to him. He petted me and rubbed my ears and chin. He spoke very softly to me, "Colby, I'm so lucky to have you, its such a beautifu day, its warm, the lake is so beautiful, and I have my best little buddy with me." Then Dad hugged me and I felt so warm and loved. Its nice to have such a great Dad.
