Arrival Story: Our Mini Schnauzer puppy was needing a friend. I was looking on petfinder.com for another small dog, but was drawn to Cindy's story! She had been living on a farm but not earning her keep as a working dog. Her owner was going to shoot her, but his kids called a foster mom to see if she would find another home for her. I talked to the foster mom and Cindy sounded like she would fit into our family. We met Cindy, and adopted her right then and there!
Bio: She's very quiet, calm, and obedient. While in her foster home, she tore a ligament in her back leg, so she doesn't play much. She really enjoys taking walks, though! We plan on taking her through an obedience course soon. An update on Cindy. We have taken her to obedience course and she hates it. She is very much a homebody and doesn't like riding in the truck. We have found out she is afraid of thunder and gunshots. That's ok, she is a wonderful housedog. Her leg is much better, she takes 2 tablets of a glucosamine daily. She doesn't limp and even runs!
Forums Motto: I'm in my happy place Dogster Local Spots I've Marked: Animal Humane Association of Star Valley Cat herding: She may not have worked cattle or sheep but she does her best to work our cats! Inkspot comes on walks with us to be herded back home!
Whatever those little tasty things are that I get two times a day, they are working.
I am starting to feel like a puppy again! I am running back and forth in the yard when that big brown truck speeds past. I happily line up with the other dogs when it is treat time.
I am even starting to fly off the back steps, just like Super Dog or something. Mom doesn't like it when I do that.
Yeah, I am feeling better.
The Cindy is back.
I had ACL surgery on my left leg while I was in foster care. Now my right leg is all swollen and it's stiff. I am still getting around, using all four legs. But Mom and Dad are concerned so they had the vet come out and take a look. Without doing x-rays, she thought I might have tore the right ACL. Mom says I have all the classic symptoms of arthritis.
Anywho, I am taking some meds now to see if my leg starts working better. I'll keep you posted.
Here's the deal. I get up and have my breakfast.
I go outside and stay outside to watch the horses and cows next door. I am ok that it is still dark and cold and frosty.
Mom met me at the door this morning. She knew I wanted in even though I hadn't barked or scratched at the door.
Shooting. I don't like shooting.
Must be the start of goose hunting season.
