A dog named Notme

We have some real pretty flowers growing in our yard. We had some blue ones and some purple ones and some little yellow ones. They aren't blooming right now. Right now we have orange ones and yellow ones.
Some of the yellow ones are just right next to our steps. Someone is biting those pretty yellow flowers off the stems and just kinda chewing them into pieces! The yellow parts are being left all over the yard!
Mommy has asked us dogs if we know who is doing this. I haven't seen the dog but I know it's name: Notme.

Mommy's Little Helper

I heard Mommy tell brother that they needed to get out and pick peas while it was still cool outside. I am a good helper. I was out there, all on my own, picking peas. Now like I said in another diary entry, those peas are hard to pick. I am accidentally pulling up the whole plant. I have seen Mommy doing that. She hollered and told me to stop. I am not appreciated around here.

Here's another thing I do that I Know Mommy likes. When she is sitting on that white chair thingie where the humans go potty, I come in and keep her company. If she forgets to let Drover and me in, we scratch and whine at the door. If she just barely closes the door, we just push it open. Now when she is sitting there, here's what I do. I hop my little front feet up on her lap and throw my head back as far as I can without falling over backwards. Then she scratches my neck and picks out the sleepys from my eyes. I know she likes for me to do this because she always laughs and tells me I am silly.

Helping with housework

Helping with housework can be hazardous to a pup's health!
I try to do my best to help around the house, so when Mommy started cleaning this morning, I was right there with her. I have more of a supervisory position. I watched as Mommy vacuumed off the cat hairs and grass from the couch and loveseat. I had to point out several hairs that she overlooked.
I was doing such a good job while she was sweeping the kitchen floor, she kept sweeping me out of the way!
On to the bathrooms. She used a rag and some spray stuff on most of the stuff in there. I was watching her clean the toilet deal. I am just the right size to peek over the rim while she swished a brush around in the water.
Now here is where it got scary. She said, "Zoe, your fuzzy little face would do a better job at cleaning the pot than this old worn out brush!" She grabbed me by my little hind legs and started swirling me around! Up and down, around and around I went until the blood was rushing into my head and I was all dizzy. She finally put me down on all fours. I staggered around getting my balance and then I got outta that bathroom. Can you believe it?!
I need a nap.
It will be awhile before I help Mommy with housework!

Pea Pickin' Helper Zoe

My Daddy planted way too many peas, really close together. They are all growing in a raised wooden box thingie. It's fun to walk across all those pea plants. They are cool and green and sometimes wet.
Mommy was out there this morning cussing Daddy because now there are A Lot of peas to pick. I decided to help her! I would get in those pea plants and look around for a good pea to pick. I would get one in my mouth and show Mommy. Those things are hard to pick, gotta pull on them a lot so I would just show them to Mommy. "Here's a good one over here," I'd tell her.
"Ok, Zoe, I'll be there when I finish this area, just leave it!" she'd tell me.
It got boring after awhile, so I wandered off looking for bugs and other fun stuff. Plus, some of the peas smelled like Drover had, well, peed on them.
Man, it's hot outside now. I'm glad we have air conditioning in our house. I'll go back out this evening, there might be more garden chores for me to take care of.

Summertime and the livin' is easy

My people are usually on the the go and can't sit and type in my diary for me. Mommy is home alone, with just us pets, right now!
Most of the time outside my Mommy and Daddy are always doing something with the yard or garden or chickens or somethings I can't see them doing. But last night was nice! It was quiet and peaceful in our backyard. There was no one us dogs had to bark at. The lawn was mowed. The garden was tended to. Mommy had time to Sit in one of our lawn chairs. I took advantage of the situation and jumped right into her lap. We spent the time looking around and enjoying the evening. She petted me and scratched my neck, just like I like it.
It's a dog's life.

A new Job

Usually, after I eat my breakfast, I snuggle on the couch with Daddy. We surf with his laptop and he scratches my tummy. Well, he is gone for something called A.T. and will be back later. Whatever. I have no concept of time.
So I have decided I have a new job. Not that I have given up on my morning barking, just that I added something in to replace the tummy scratching from Daddy.
I like to go scratch on my sister's bedroom door. I scratch and scratch until Mommy lets me into her room. It's my new job to tell her good morning in my special Schnauzer way. My feet are usually cold and wet from being outside to potty. I like to get right in her face, so she's knows I am there! After some wet kisses and dancing around on her bed, I usually leave her alone. It's time for her to get up anyway. Good Morning, Sister! I am so good at my job.

Homemade toys!

A week or so ago, Mommy came home with some new toys for Drover and me. They were a big tiger and a big leopard. They were shaped the same. Whiskers came off first. Then I went to work on the earhair, got that gross stuff off of 'em both. They were fun. Drover and me decided to play tug a war with them. The leopard was the first to split apart. Mommy sewed it and cut it in half. We had a head and front legs and the rear end part to play with. The tiger is still here. We haven't got the stuffing out of him , yet.
Mommy is tired of having us destroy toys so quickly. She said it is getting too expensive to keep us in toys.
So Mommy said she would make us some toys. Using tougher fabric would surely last longer.
Cool, she just handed Drover a round soft thing and I got a long floppy thing.
No problemo! Drover got a nice whole started in his round thing. I got the stuffing started coming out.
Whoops! Mommy just said she is never gonna buy or make us another toy! That round one just went in the trash! What a waste.
This could be bad - no more toys? Ever? Yikes, I guess we just pushed the envelop.

The other day Drover and me had to get hairshrinks. *Sigh* We got out hair shrunk real short for summer, so maybe we won't have to go back to the groomer's real soon.
I was getting pretty fuzzy before my hairshrink. When I would walk in tall grass and weeds, little seeds and stuff would stick to me. Mom told the groomer that I was going to be sprouting into a Chia pet! The groomer got a kick out of that.

Today Mommy moved the furniture around so I can't see out the window as well. I can't get boogies on it, either! Drat. There are a couple of spots I can sit and see out the window, at least.

Oh yeah- outside, there's a little house near our yard, but in it's own little yard. Well, it's been empty for a long time, but a few weeks ago, Mommy started working in there, moving stuff in and out. She took some peeping boxes into the house, and when the boxes came back out, they weren't peeping but the house was! Mommy says she bought some baby chickens and turkeys. Drover and me aren't allowed to go into the little yard now.
Sometimes we can see little... things moving around in the yard, and we have to bark at them! Mom says we don't need to bark, but I think we do! I've gotta keep everyone on the alert around here!

I'll talk to you all later!
Barks and tail wiggles,

Aw man!

Hey pups, sorry it's been awhile since I last wrote. My family hasn't written anything for me in forever! They put an entry for the tag game, but that doesn't count! I'm not sure why, but it doesn't!
Sister's started college, so she's gone half the day, and spends most of the other half doing homework. She's always saying she's busy when I try to get her to write in my diary. Mom and Brother are always saying they're busy too. Hmph. Then, Daddy's at work during the day, so there's nobody around to write for me!
Anyway, this morning I didn't feel very good. I didn't eat all my breakfast, then I went outside and ate some grass. After that I felt better and wanted my breakfast, but no! Mommy said, "You'll just have to wait, Zoe. Breakfast time is in the morning, and you didn't eat all your breakfast." So, I'm hoping I don't starve and collapse in a limp heap before tomorrow. Mom is making some more treats for us, so maybe I'll get her to give me a whole bunch.
My day ain't going too good. It's real windy, and I don't like the wind. I asked Mommy to turn off the wind, but she said she wouldn't. She gave some lame excuse about how she can't control the weather. Hmph.
I need a new background and cursor on my page, too. These that I have now have been on forever! I get bored when I look at them.
Everybody's being mean at me today, and I don't know why! I'm not asking for much. All I want is for somebody to write in my diary, give me some food (maybe a strawberry milkshake), find me a new background and cursor, and stop the wind! Hmph.

Bark you all later!
Arrrroooo! ~Zoe~
