Well, this has been an exciting day. This morning Mom was checking her email. She kept seeing pup pal request for me and some rosettes, too. Mom kept wondering what was going on, never having seen so many in one day. Some how she looked right past that first email from Dogster. The curiousity was killing her so she went to Dogster and WOWEE ZOWIE---there I was on the front page of Dogster--Dog of the Day!!
Mom smiled at me and kissed me and said, "Looky here who's the dog of the day"!
I love it when Mom kisses me! I feel so special. I got a few treats and congratulations from my brothers and sisters. I know that's what it was 'cause they were all grinning and wagging tails (even though they always do that when mom talks puppy talk to us).
I got lots of pup pal requests. I'll take all the friends I can get. Mamma says you can never have too many. I also got some rosettes and lots of congratulatory messages. I feel like a queen.
The only bad part of the day is mom and dad left for a while and went fishing. Can you believe that---on a day such as this? Oh well, I know I'll probably get something special 'cause mom feels guilty.
Well I certainly appreciate all you pups and Dogster. I'm trying to give all my new pals bones. I didn't get finished tonight, but I hope I will tomorrow.
Good Night, even though I don't want this day to end!! I'm all smiles.

Daddy's outside shooting at crows in the garden. Whenever he gets out his gun, we get scared. When we get scared we find Momma and hide under her legs or stand next to her if she's not sitting down. This is probably where we'll be on July 4th.
If you look at my second photo, you'll see me hiding between mom's knees and Zoomer with his head under the keyboard. Yep, Daddy's shooting his gun again. It's obvious to Mom.

I am so upset!! I just don't know what to do.
Last night we had thunderstorms! Now mom and dad always let us come to be with them when there are thunderstorms.
We were going through our usual thunderstorm routine, crying at the door, scratching the door and we finally got Dad to open the door. We jumped on the bed and right there smack dab in the middle of where I usually lay my head was that silly little thing they call "Nina". Oh, I can't believe she was laying where I lay my head when there's a thunderstorm. I don't know why they got that silly little excuse of a dog for anyway. She's not big enough to scare a flea. She sure thinks she big stuff . She even has the nerve to bark commands at me sometimes.
Oh, woe is me!
How will I ever regain my high status in this house?

Well, I have been living here in rural Arkansas for 8 years. My brother and I came to live with our mom and dad at around 10 weeks old. I hurled all over my mom on the trip home. Car rides still make me sick sometimes, though not as often. We have a great yard for chasing all kinds of varmits... yes, I said, "varmits". After all, I am from Arkansas. We have deer, squirrels, rabbits, armadillos, and beavers in our yard. We have a pond and a stream. We stay inside being couch potatoes a bit more than we should, but I still have the perfect figure. Too bad my mom doesn't have my metabolism.
I am just the perfect little lady most of the time, but I am very demanding when it comes to attention. I demand that anyone new must come and pet me first. I will stand in your lap to make you see me. I will run my head under your hand if you don't pet me. I have a lot of competition around here.
My brother Keefer is at least as demanding as I am and as if that isn't enough, there's a new sister and she's soooo tiny, it's tough to compete with her. Her name is Nina. Everyone talked about how petite and cute I was until Nina came here. Well, in spite of my obvious envy of Nina, I am getting closer to her every day. I have even kissed Nina a time or two. (I know it doesn't hurt to kiss up to someone when you know they are in control of the place.)
Of all the dogs, I love my brother, Zoomer, the most. He is so sweet and he helps protect me. Zoomer even feels my pain. Once when a young boy shot me with a bb gun, Zoomer got just as upset about it as I did. Neither one of us likes guns since that incident. Just the sight or smell of any gun gets us to shaking. About a year ago, when I broke my foot while chasing after a deer, Zoomer ran and got Daddy to help me. Zoomer's a great brother. He does have his brotherly quirks . Zoomer likes to chase me and try to bowl me over. I try to hide from him and sneak around so he can't catch me. It's rather tough though because, Zoomer is so much larger than me.
Zoomer and I do everything together. I chased a squirrel and caught it two days ago. Zoomer was right there. He tried to help me hold it, but it got away and ran up a tree. I guess one day those squirrels will finally accept how fast I really am.
Well, I don't want to keep rambling on, but I am a special girl. Just ask my Daddy!!!
