Arrival Story:
I had been looking for a dog to get for my husband for Father's Day. I spent a lot of time looking and reading about different breeds. I felt that Whippets would be the perfect breed for us. They are. We found an ad in a nearby town and we went to view the Whippet puppies. We couldn't agree on which puppy to get, so we got two, the biggest male and the "runt" female of the litter. You guessed it!! Celeste is that "runt". My husband had to pull her out from under the dog house as she was terribly frightened of us. I guess that tells a bit of our personalities. I wanted the strongest most out going of the litter and my husband wanted the cute little "runt". :)
Bio:
Celeste is not registered, but is purebred. Her mother is from Germany and was a red brindle. Her father was white with brindle markings. She has been spayed.

Well, this has been an exciting day. This morning Mom was checking her email. She kept seeing pup pal request for me and some rosettes, too. Mom kept wondering what was going on, never having seen so many in one day. Some how she looked right past that first email from Dogster. The curiousity was killing her so she went to Dogster and WOWEE ZOWIE---there I was on the front page of Dogster--Dog of the Day!!
Mom smiled at me and kissed me and said, "Looky here who's the dog of the day"!
I love it when Mom kisses me! I feel so special. I got a few treats and congratulations from my brothers and sisters. I know that's what it was 'cause they were all grinning and wagging tails (even though they always do that when mom talks puppy talk to us).
I got lots of pup pal requests. I'll take all the friends I can get. Mamma says you can never have too many. I also got some rosettes and lots of congratulatory messages. I feel like a queen.
The only bad part of the day is mom and dad left for a while and went fishing. Can you believe that---on a day such as this? Oh well, I know I'll probably get something special 'cause mom feels guilty.
Well I certainly appreciate all you pups and Dogster. I'm trying to give all my new pals bones. I didn't get finished tonight, but I hope I will tomorrow.

Daddy's outside shooting at crows in the garden. Whenever he gets out his gun, we get scared. When we get scared we find Momma and hide under her legs or stand next to her if she's not sitting down. This is probably where we'll be on July 4th.
If you look at my second photo, you'll see me hiding between mom's knees and Zoomer with his head under the keyboard. Yep, Daddy's shooting his gun again. It's obvious to Mom.
