I hate rainy days

Again today, Sarah got to stay home with me. I am not sure what is wrong with her car. I keep asking her to take me for a drive in it, but it won't budge. Despite being very happy to have company, I was disappointed in the weather. I dislike rainy days so. Unlike most of my close doggy friends, I hate getting wet. I walked as fast as I could around the field trying to avoid every drop. Then it was home to go back to bed and dry off.

This afternoon Derick and Sarah left me alone, but there were no cookies to be eaten.

After they returned home, I went outside and chased a gopher. He disappeared into his hole before I got too close. I dug and dug in the muck but still I could not fit into the tiny burrow. Where did he go? I spent the rest of my evening hiding and waiting for his return. Maybe tomorrow I will outwit him.

Typically Mondays are sad days because Derick has to go back to work, but this Monday was especially dreadful. Sarah was going back to work. We have spent the last eight months or so joined at the hip. I can hardly imagine what my days are going to be like without her. Stuck inside with nothing to do, *sigh*, what a horrible thought.

But luckily for me Sarah's car wouldn't start so I got an extra day. Yippy! I got to go on a long walk to Aroostock and laze around getting my belly rubbed. It was even nice enough that we spent some time outside snorking in the grass. I love that.

It was the nicest surprise a dog like me could ask for.

Every Sunday it is the same thing, cars and people start piling into my yard. I don't understand why they all come here, but I wish they would all pay attention to me. Of course, I wouldn't actually let them rub my belly, but they should a least attempt to make friends.

I sat outside in the sun supervising their every move as Derick worked on the truck. It was very exhausting. I spent the rest of the day sleeping it off after the coast was clear. People just don't understand my responsibilities.

On the Hunt for Miss Kitty

Saturday the loud men were back on the roof. It was so early and I was trying to sleep in with everybody. I don't think the sun was even up that early. Miss Kitty was out for the night, but was so frightened by them she was hiding in the woods. She refused to come home, so Sarah and I went on a rescue mission. As a search dog, I zig zagged through the woods until I caught her trail. Of course, it could have been a groundhog scent, but that is equally as interesting. We tracked Miss Kitty down and brought her home safe and sound.

Then we were off for a long car ride. We drove to Woodstock. I like Woodstock a lot with all the dogs and smells, but I get very anxious in the big "city". I guess I am becoming too much of a hillbilly dog. There are so many noises that it is a little overwhelming. I keep having this thought that Derick will leave me behind and never come back for me. It is very stressful.

Luckily we returned home to find the men all gone; the peace and quiet restored. Good thing 'cause I really needed a nap.

Need a Nap

Today I am feeling tired. Sarah had me up bright and early, but we got to go in the car. I forgot what it was like to be in the car. It is cramped in the back and I have a hard time turning around. I really dislike the windows because they don't roll down far enough to get my head out. I'd rather be in the larger SUV where I can stretch my legs. When we arrived back home, I soon discovered people all over the place. They were all over the roof on our house and standing around. I was very confused and poor Miss Kitty was frightened. They were making all sorts of noise. I wandered around checking every puppy was exactly where I had left it, yup. I wondered if they were trying to break in and steal them all. I was so puzzled why these men were throwing things off the roof. I sat a watched out the kitchen window for a while, then I further investigated from the livingroom view. This was a mystery far beyond me.

I finally gave up as everybody was settling down. I tried to have a nap but there was so much noise. The noise, noise, noise... it was driving me crazy. What are they doing? They have been up there all afternoon.

Derick came home and took me on a drive through town. We stopped at a house with a very yappy little dog. I waited in the truck, but the dog was upsetting me. I whined to try to make him stop. I couldn't understand why he was so mad at me.

Luckily Beavis, my friend, stopped by for a visit when I got home. He was too scared of all the men to stay and play.

I ate a huge dinner with smelly soft food. My mouth was watering as Sarah mixed it up. Afterwards Sarah took me on a long walk down over the hill. I was disappointed we didn't go to Aroostock, but I enjoy all the smells towards Perth-Andover almost as much.

Now I am trying to enjoy a nice quiet evening with "the pack", but the strangers are still beating on the ceilings. *Sigh*, it's a dog's life.

Wow, I am so excited to have my very own blog. Most days I am on a grand adventure with my companions or friends, but today was very quiet. I supervised some men bringing a huge dumpster to the house and I barked at the meterman. Sarah tried to trick me into eating Iams dogfood again, but I outwitted her once again.
