We've been quite busy since we first joined.
Farley has earned the final leg and now has his AKC CD degree and is training towards his CDX. He still enjoys going to obedience school each week. If we can get past his reluctance to retrieve the hard plastic dumbbell he'll pass with flying colors - give him a soft stuffed toy or ball & he'll retrieve all day long - give him something hard & he'd prefer not to. He is finally coming to realize that it can be fun too so we just have a little "polish" and he'll be ready to compete. He actually seems to enjoy the competitions - he surely likes to strut his stuff & when the clapping starts he's on Cloud 9 - what a showoff!
Chloe just entered her first obedience competition yesterday & she earned a qualifying score so she's now 1/3rd of the way towards her CD degree. She didn't score real high but she pranced all through it & I think her attitude gained her a few points. I don't call her Princess Chloe for nothing! She still enjoys going to class too, but I think it is mainly to be able to see all her doggie friends she has made there!
Both of them have been on 2 visits, together with a large group from the obedience school we go to, to a local nursing home. The last visit was this past Oct. for Halloween. The latest pic I posted is of them in their costumes - they were my "Western" poodles. For the visit the Halloween before Chloe was a cheerleader & Farley was a football player. Both times they were a big hit with the residents but Chloe stole all of their hearts with her gentle ways. Farley is too much of a goof & would actually do better participating in a program with older children or younger adults. He makes me nervous that his "wiggle butt" will accidently bump into someone.
They have been enjoying all the snow we got this weekend - of course my carpet won't be dry til Spring with all the snow they bring in with them. But that is better than the mud they'll be bringing in come springtime.
Well that's about it for now. Farley & Chloe are waving paws at all of their Dogster pals!
