One Saturday we went to a computer shop. On the way home, he stopped at Puppy Palace. When he turned into the street, I was expected an exciting hour (not) browsing in Super Cheap Auto. When I asked why we had stopped at PP he said, you like looking at dogs. We went in, and he said there were no large dogs, then we went around the corner. He said, there's a Rottweiler, then, and it has a tail. We walked over to the pen, and my husband said, I wonder if it is a boy or a girl, at which point she rolled over on her back. We had a cuddle, and I said to him, what do you think. He said, I think she's coming home with us.
He still maintains it was purely accidental, and he had no idea there would be a rottie X pup in the store. She is now an adorable, energetic 14 month old bundle of joy. Bio: The Valkyrie are the warrior maidens who take the souls of dead warriors to Valhalla. I just couldn't call a dog Brunhilda (she is the leader of the Valkyrie). I'm still kind stunned from when Mum told me. The Rotties Rule is a real honour - even though Freya does all the talking, BOL.
But I don't write in my diary all that often. I'm more an action girl - throw me a tennis ball, and I'm yours for life, or until you arm wears out.
Gee thanks, so much, Diary Gal. I'm honoured.
But I'm also saddened that I received the honour for a diary about our terrible floods. However, even amidst the tragedy, destruction and heartache, there are wonderful stories of families reunited, lost pets found, and a community determined to work together and recover from this. Though I do think the Army should shoot any looters - we've had a few. I mean, if you don't want to be part of the community.
Please continue to send you prayers for the people of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. And also to our neighbours across the oceans in Sri Lanka and Brazil who are also experiencing flooding.
Between floods and blizzards 2011 is shaping up to be the year of bad weather - I hope not.
