Arrival Story:
We lost a long-time friend, Pixel and were looking for a dog. We found Lily's photo and description on the internet and fell in love. We took Piloux to meet her at the shelter and everyone got along so well. We were very lucky to be able to bring her home with us.

Bio:
Lily's first home had been with a couple from Russia. Her name had been Laschka and she understood Russian commands for sit and stay, etc. She had been a very calm dog who spent most of her time in the house. One week with us and she has gone crazy. She has bounds of energy and loves being in the yard.

Great wilderness walk

I had the best walk yesterday. Piloux and mom and I went on a walk in the mountains and we went higher up than we ever went before. We started out on a road and went up to the trails where there were Mountain Lions lurking everywhere. Piloux was terrified -- you should have seen her. Not me though. I am not afraid of any kind of cat, no matter how big. The best part of the walk was that when we got up high in the mountain, near the triangle bridge, there were other dogs -- lots of them and all of our moms and dads let us off of our leashes (not Piloux thought because she was afraid a mountain lion was going to get her and drag her away) and we played together. Oh we ran and jumped on each other and sniffed everyone's body parts and had so much fun. I was sad when it was time to go and mom said we could come again. On the way out, Piloux whispered to me " see, see, I think mom wants me to be eatin by a mountain lion or somethin." Oh Piloux does worry a bit.

Pasadena Wiggle Waggle Walk

Right when I woke up, I knew it was going to be a special day. There was something about what mom did that clued me in. She got her shorts on and then put her running shoes on -- which only can mean two things. Either she is going running by herself, which holds no interest for me, or she is taking Piloux and me on a really good walk. You can't imagine how excited I was when she said "want to go?" When she asks that, there can't be anything better. I don't care where we go, as long as we get to go along. But today, we got to go to the Rose Bowl. Now, we've been there before and we love it. But today there were hundreds, and I mean hundreds of other dogs. And they all had the most beautiful blue bandanas on them. Well, mom must have known how much I liked those blue bandanas cause she gave a check to the man, to make him give her two of them. One for me and one for Piloux. And she put them on us and we got to wear them in a parade around the Rose Bowl. And people waved at us and cheered for us and gave us water and head-scratches. Can any of you dogs imagine anything better than that? After the race, Piloux was tired and I think mom was too. But not me. I was too excited. Then, when mom told us that the parade was to help other rescue dogs, I couldn't help but cry a bit. You know, I was a rescue dog and the best day of my life was when my mom came to the shelter, picke me up and took me to my forever home. And if my being in the parade can help another dog to find a forever home, it makes it all the better. It was such a fun day!!! I can't wait until next year's parade.
