![]() I first met you when you were 4 weeks old and I loved you from the start. We bonded so well and have been best mates ever since. I took you home at that young age because your Mum rejected you and your 9 siblings. You were very aggressive even at that age as I guess you had to fight for your food. After you chewed my good bedroom furniture, redesigned the legs on my coffee table, chewed the skirting boards in the bedroom, and dug holes that would have got me to China I still loved you. Thank goodness you got over that destructive stage. During Puppy Pre school you sat under my chair and growled at all the puppies that came near you and when you were introduced to the cat you hid!!! However I was very proud when you graduated with flying colours. Then we had dog socialisation classes where you befriended a lovely Cav. King Charles Spaniel and how you played!! Then you kept growing and Rusty stayed the same and you were a bit rough but you were still mates. The day we had a sports day the only game we won was the sack race. That was fun! Then you cried when we tried the agility course and all the other dogs just flew through. Oh well, we did win a prize and it wasn't the booby prize. I was broken hearted when you disappeared for those 2 days but cried with relief when you returned. We have travelled many miles together during holidays and been so very good. Thought you would like the beach but you ran for your life when the waves came crashing in. I'm sorry I laughed but it looked so funny that a dog of your size would be scared of a wave. Paddy, you are my best mate and I hope we have many more years together. Love from your Mum.
