The Horror ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

This is a diary entry that I hate to have to write. I know many of my fellow dogs look up to me knowing that I usually run things around here MY WAY!!! The humans around here know that I am in charge and there usually is no problem with such a perfect system. However, yesterday, the humans did something unthinkable--they had an idea of their own. Yes, it does happen, and usually when a dog least expects it to happen. The horror and humiliation of what the humans did to me yesterday is something that it is hard to write about, and I'm sure equally hard to read about. I will start at the beginning since that seems to be a good place to start. I have had a hurt paw for several days. I would not quit licking it, and my humans noticed that I didn't want to walk on it. They gave it a couple of days, and tried spraying some medicine on it--I won't let them touch my paw or go anywhere near it. Then yesterday Mommy got up first thing and called the vet like a war veteran hasn't seen worse injuries than my paw! I jumped into the vehicle as my usual happy self. I thought we were going for a ride or to a pet food store for treats! Then Mommy pulled into the vet's office, and I was not thrilled--to say the least! It turns out that there might be a cyst on the paw, and there was a broken claw, and it is infected. The vet expects me to spend time with one of my relative== a certain aunt who is robotic. I didn't even know I had any Terminator style relatives, but I wish I knew before I went in so that I could have enlisted their help in fighting the vet. The vet gave me some stuff that made me sleepy so I slept most of the day yesterday, and she also put a "bandage" on my paw which my humans keep telling me looks "adorable"...like a he-man dog wants to be seen in an "adorable" bandage. I started biting it off this morning, but I haven't gotten it off yet. I look like the cats wearing "kitten mittens" in the television show, It is Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Mommy has had some problems getting me to take the medicine I'm supposed to take. She found that if you buy a bag of the Greenies pill pockets, and put the pill in the pocket along with a candy corn, I will actually take the pills for my paw. I heard the vet say that I am supposed to come back in 3 weeks.....not if I have anything to say about it. I'm already tearing that week off the calendar. You don't "fool" Demon Flash Bandit twice!

Don't you just hate it when you think you're going for a nice car ride and end up at the vet's office? I hope your paw starts to feel better soon,

The bandage is off, and I am pleased to announce that the power of the paw sent to me by so many friends is working. I don't know why Mommy even bothered with the vet!

Mommies are vet-obsessed, and no mistake. Don't be surprised if you get re-bandaged. And I know all about that Auntie Robotic! But the pill pockets are yummy! Sending some big-time POP fur your paw to get better!

Awful just awful!! I'm sorry you have a hurt paw, you have to take the medicine to make the humans feel better and so they can spoil you rotten by giving you all kinds of treats. Treats make everything better... HE, HE HE
