Summer's Almost Over...

And we haven't even gone swimming yet - boo hoo! Mommy says maybe this weekend if it stays warm.

We haven't gone out too much this summer because the hairless puppy burns easily. He is getting really big now, and I love to entertain him by prancing around the living room. And he loves to pet my ears, but who wouldn't, they are really soft!

Stubby has been wearing a cone all summer on account of his dry skin makes him chew himself. I keep telling him not to chew or Dad will wrangle him down for a b*a*t*h. He's been so depressed about the cone of shame that he refuses to log in to update his diary. I don't like the cone either, it gets in the way when we play.

It has been a really low-key summer, and I'm looking forward to autumn because it's just too hot to be wearing black fur in 100-degree weather.

Mommy Had A Puppy

It's been 2 months since Mommy popped that hairless puppy out of her, and she finally let me lick his feet! He makes a lot of noise all day and all night. I don't know how I sleep through it all, but somehow I manage.

Stubby and I take shifts to watch over the little guy. Mommy and Daddy seem to worry about him all the time, so we are very diligent about scaring away any squirrels or birds who might want to attack him (since all squirrels are evil and birds are ill-tempered).

Mommy says that when he can hold his own head up, I will get to lick more than just the bottoms of his feet. I wonder when that will be?

Back To Normal, Sort Of

Ebony has been gone for a few months now, and it's back to our usual family. Well, sort of. Mommy is getting bigger and bigger, and she says that soon I will have a new lick toy to take care of.

I hope she is talking about a baby, because I LOVE babies! Their feet taste like flowers. In the meantime, she seems to be home more often, which is fine by me.

I wonder when the new lick toy will be here. I can hardly wait to lick it!

A New Houseguest

Well, Mommy and Daddy said that this grand lady Ebony is going to be with us for a while because she does not have a home. She is a very big lady and she keeps hogging all of Mommy's attention. She wags her tail and smiles while she follows Mommy everywhere around the house. Mommy says she is giving Ebony some extra TLC because her previous owner neglected her and a sweet baby like Ebony deserves some lovin'. I like her a lot, but I don't want her taking all of Mommy's attention.

Somebody please take Ebony home because even though she is very, very friendly, and I like to play with her a lot, I don't want to have to share Mommy and Daddy and Stubby with her. Thanks.

Meeting Ebony

Today Mom and Dad took us to meet Ebony. She is a big older lady who is looking for a forever home. Mom says that if she gets along with me and Stubby maybe she can stay with us until she finds someone who wants to keep her forever.

Ebony is really big. Dad says Ebony makes me look like a puppy. Of course she is much bigger than I am; she is a Rottweiler, and I am a Lab!

I tried to get Ebony to play with me, but she didn't feel like chasing me. She just stood there and licked Mom and Dad. She was annoyed with Stubby because he tried to mount her. After a while, she just acted like me and Stubby weren't there, she just wanted Dad to pet her.

I hope she finds a person to take her home. She's real nice, and she just wants to give kisses to anyone who will pay attention to her. Even though she is 10, she still acts like a younger dog.

After visiting Ebony, I realized how lucky I am to have a nice home where I get lots of love and attention. In fact, I think I'll go thank Mom right now by licking her feet.

The Kitchen Remodel Continues...

Mom and Dad have asked all these people to come in and change the room that they call "the kitchen". I don't really understand why they are doing this, because I am not allowed in rooms that people call "the kitchen" anyway.

Still, I don't mind for several reasons. Number one, new people in the house everyday! I love the way they smell! I love the way they taste! The one called Paavo has the tastiest jeans ever.

Number two, and this is more important, we are going to Grandma's house every night! Grandma loves Stubby and me. She always has treats for us and gives us leftovers from dinner. And I get to drink out of her giant lake of flavored water (Dad calls it "chlorine" flavor). And when I do tricks for her, Grandma lets me kiss her face. I love to kiss her face! Her makeup tastes like flowers!

If I'm lucky, Mom and Dad will never finish this "kitchen remodel" thing.
