 Quick Bio:
Likes: She loves to play with her dog friends - her favorite time is the morning

Pet-Peeves: Hurricane Katrina-We lost our house so my owner can't keep me. Young children-I'm too old to be a climbing gym

Favorite Toy: A soft Bed, lots of dogs around to keep me company

Arrival Story: Notes: Ruby's 10 years old, spayed, a beautiful red catahoula with 2 piercing beautiful blue eyes. Her owner chose her as a pup because of her beautiful red color - she had 5 litters of pups before she was spayed. In her younger days she was used to hunt deer. Ruby loves a nice soft bed - she loves all dogs and cats and people. She loves to go for walks, she is housebroken and is a very gentle, calm dog. I would recommend a house with no children or children over 14 because of her age - she can't be climbed on or rough-housed.
She loves to play with her dog friends - her favorite time is the morning. Her nick names are Sweet Ruby Blue Eyes, Ruby Dooby Doo and Ruby Tuesday. Ruby is a very special dog whose owner is a Hurricane Katrina survivor in New Orleans. Her owner cannot keep her now because his home has been destroyed - she grew up with many dogs around her - and her owner wants the best life for Ruby that she can have. He canont provide that right now.
Are you the right family to take this beautiful blue eyed beauty into your home? You'll never regret it - she is very special - very gentle and beautiful.
Catahoula Rescue Inc is an all volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit corportation. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The fosterhomes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered if old enough. They have been wormed and tested for heartworms if over 4 months of age when rescued. All dogs are on heartworm preventative. We require a minimum $100 adoption fee to help offset these costs.

Bio: Catahoula Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit corportation. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first step is to complete the online adoption application available at our main website www.catahoularescue.com From the homepage, follow the link "How to Adopt". Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the fosterparent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue.
