 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: September 22nd 2001
Likes: Chase likes riding in the car, laying with his mama, eating, sleeping and annoying Rudy! He also loves to give Anna Reid the "quick lick" when we're not paying enough attention! He also has a new habit of loving to drink from the sink before bed.

Pet-Peeves: Chase hates baths, being brushed, having his nails clipped and going on walks! He loves being INside!

Favorite Toy: Chase loves entertaining himself with his Kong by throwing it up in the air and letting it roll, then chasing after it. He also loves to shred tissues and napkins!--BAD DOG!! :)

Favorite Food: Chase loves any kind of food! Rudy guards the food bowl, so Chase takes advantage of it anytime he can! He loves Scooby Snacks, gummi bears, Pedigree Little Champions and table food on special occasions!

Favorite Walk: Chase doesn't like to go on walks! He hates being outside, so he just sits there and you have to pull him. When we took him to the Oyster Festival he had to be carried!

Best Tricks: sit and stay...sometimes, that's about it!

Arrival Story: We got Chase from an elderly couple that only had him for 6 months and couldn't take care of him anymore. Matt brought him home without consulting with me first!!!

Bio: Chase's breeder is Pauley's Pups in Ashland, Va.

Forums Motto: Rides the short bus

There's not a whole lot of new stuff going on with our youngest JRT. We continue to laugh when he does things like run into the wall because he's going to fast and can't stop, and when he jumnps up really high in excitement and doesn't land on his feet--flat on his back instead! These things don't hurt him, it's just funny. He is so spazz sometimes that he really shows his clumsiness. He loves to chase Rudy around the yard to try to get the ball--but he doesn't really want the ball--he just wants to run and bug Rudy who is very serious about the ball. Chase is definitely Anna Reid's favorite. He gives her lots of attention. He licks her, chases her, plays ball with her and lets her give him hugs. She gets such a kick out of him running after the ball she throws to him. All she talks about is Chase, Chay-Chay and Tay-Tay. She also loves to blame everything on him. Any teeth marks on her toys or scratch on her body she says--"Chase did it!". Usually she's right, but sometimes he does get wrongfully blamed!

On May 7th, 2006, Chase made his great escape! It was a Sunday afternoon and it started to rain around 3:00. We were sitting inside, being lazy, and assumed the dogs were outside in their doghouse. We should have brought them in when the rain started. Around 8 or so, we heard Rudy whimpering at the deck gate, which he never does. Matt soon realized that Rudy was trying to tell us something--Chase was gone! I had been taking things out of the shed for the church yard sale and left the gate unhooked at the bottom. Chase squeezed through (he had to dig a little) and out he went. I'm sure he went to the front porch and no one was there to let him in, so he didn't know what to do. We think he'd been out since around 3, when the rain started, since a neighbor whom we don't know told us they saw him then. The boy tried to get Chase and he ran. It wouldn't be like him to go to a stranger. So, we knew he was hiding somewhere, probably trying to stay dry. We didn't think a person had him. We had a 7 or 8 man search party out from about 8-10:30 pm looking for Chase in the pouring down rain. We had spotlights searching under cars and decks, looking in ditches, calling his name....we even took Rudy out hoping Chase would come to him. Finally we had almost given up for the night (and I had even printed up "lost dog" signs to post the next day), when Mom and Scott went out one last time. Mom went down Route 5 and looked around at the cleaners and the bus tour building. There he was, lying on the porch under the overhang at the Professional Bus Tours building, dry as a bone. Mom called him, and he hesitated for a minute, then went to her. When Mom brought him home I couldn't believe it! I don't even think he realized what he had done. It was an extremely tough thing to go through and I am so glad it is over!!
