Arrival Story:
Lance's breeder knew I was looking for a puppy to fill the void from Kal-El's death last summer. She wanted a safe pet home for this guy to learn how to be a happy, well-adjusted dog. He will be shown and later bred if he proves himself in the show ring. Lance is now enrolled in Conformation Class to learn how to act in the show ring. Although still a pup, he's doing a good job.

Lance is the half brother to Kal-El and Sweetie. They have the same mother. He is Yama's 1st cousin, as their fathers are littermates.

Forums Motto:

Lance's Grin:
Lance has developed a funny little grin that he uses to tell me that it is time to eat or he needs a snack. He even has minor variations that he uses for different needs: one sided, big grin / little grin.

My First Show

Mommy sent me back to Momma Pam for awhile. I was kinda scared, but my dog mom Emmy and my brother Mooner were there, so it was OK.
After only a day though, we all got put into cages in a big moving house and went for a long ride. When we finally stopped, there were other Kai dogs there just like me. And many other kinds that I didn't know.
The next morning, we played dog show, just like in the classes that Mommy has been taking me to. It was lots of fun. I was in the ring with my brother, for part of it and then with several older dogs including my mom and my dad. Pretty soon, everyone was cheering and telling me what a good boy I was. They gave me ribbons over and over again, but Momma Pam wouldn't even let me eat them. I did get lots of treats to eat though. It seemed like every time we went into the fenced ring, I got another ribbon.
After two days of that, I was really tired, but it was a lot of fun and I got to talk with lots of other Kai dogs all weekend. Then we finally all got back into the moving house and went back to Momma Pam's kennel where I grew up.
It was OK to be there, but I really missed Mommy and the girls and the kitties.
Finally, one day Mommy came to get me. We drove back home together and she kept telling me how much she had missed me and how proud she was of me. I didn't know why, but I liked hearing it anyway. I gave her some kisses, but then I slept most of the way home. As soon as we got near our house, I could smell it in the air and knew we were home. A few minutes later, we got out of the car and I was back in my own backyard.
Then the girls came outside and we played and played for a long time. For the next few days, I told them about all the things that had happened while I was gone. I hope Mommy and the girls can come if we play this game again. It was too hard to remember everything. If they are with me, we can talk about it right then.
That's all I can remember right now.

Mommy's note: In Lance's first UKC show weekend [Aug 19&20], he won 1st Place in his Male Puppy 6-9 mo Class - twice, then went on to win Best Male and Best of Winners both times. Finally, in one show, he beat both of his parents, an aunt, & an uncle (all Grand Champions) to win Best of Breed. He turned 7 months of age the next day.
