Arrival Story:
Our older son, when he was a sophomore in college five years ago, along with his girlfriend (now our sweet daughter-in-law) asked me if we could keep a puppy for him until he lived outside of the dorm and could have a dog. I said "yes." Six months later they each lived in a house and so I asked "Don't you want Bunker to come live with you?" but they told me that they were sure that he had already bonded with me, his mom. But it's been great for me and my husband. Bunker has been my "empty nest" dog since our boys ages 26 and 23 are both now gone from the house.

Bio:
Bunker has a super disposition. He has lots of Boston in him, so he's always bouncing off of something, especially when he's excited! He's the brightest dog either my husband or I have ever had. He gives lots of kisses and snuggles under the covers at night, but often ends up right next to you in the dead cockroach position, snoring!!

It's been a LONG time!

Well, folks, it's been a long, long time since my mom helped me write an entry in my diary. I've had some good stuff happen since the last time, like we have a BABY in the family!! My original owners, Adam and his now wife, gave me to my mom and dad. Well, Adam and Natalie had a baby and his name is Gage!!! I had never been around one of these things that makes noise and sometimes smells funny. They live two hours away so we don't see them every week, but I'm getting to know Gage. Last time he was at our house he was on all fours, just like me and the best part is that his ears are great for licking!!! Mom told me that he is coming here to stay without his mom and dad next weekend and that now he walks on just two legs. Then he's coming back for Thanksgiving weekend with his mom and dad. Boy, I don't know if I can reach his ears anymore, but I can probably knock him over and then I'll be able to get at 'em!!

I did have a BAD thing happen to me, but it came out GOOD, I think. A few weeks ago, my mom found a little bump on my shoulder when she gave me a bath and I went to see Dr. Jill a few days later. She stuck it with a needle and gave this thing to one of her helpers. The helper came back to the room and then Dr. Jill told my mom that I had "mast cancer cells." My mom looked really worried. I was all geared up that day 'cause I knew I was going to my favorite place away from home to Aunt Lori's Pet Lodge, but then Dr. Jill said I needed surgery and she would just keep me at her place until Mom and Dad got home three days later.

I missed my mom and dad a lot and I barked all the time while I was at Dr. Jill's place. But I got to go home on Sunday afternoon after they did my surgery on Thursday. Later that week, my mom and dad were really happy, 'cause Dr. Jill called them and told them that my cancer was Stage One and well-defined, whatever that means, and that I had a 94% chance of surviving 4+ years. My shoulder was just a little sore for a couple of days and I had to take some pills, but that was all two weeks ago and now I'm feeling A-OK!!!

Well, it's time for a little canine siesta action, so I gotta go.....but only after I get some of those new salmon treats that are really for my cat bro, Archie, but mom knows I really like them so I get 'em, too.

Love you dogger lovers......hasta la pasta!!!

My Favorite Place Next to Home!!!

I love it!!! I absolutely love this place!!! It's called "THE PET LODGE" and, boy oh boy, this place is the absolute BEST!!! A couple of months ago, Mom and Dad wanted to go away for a couple of days, but they were going to a place where I couldn't go with them, so they had to find a place for me to stay. Mom's friend knew about this place called "THE PET LODGE" about 20 minutes from our house and so Mom checked out their web site. It's pretty new and Mom said it's like a "r-e-s-o-r-t," whatever that means.

The lady who has this lodge place loves doggies. Her name is Lori and she is a very, very nice lady. She trains therapy dogs and has two dogs of her own. THEY think they own the place (well, I guess they sort of do), but they were nice to me. I've been there a couple of times now; two times it was just for overnight. When I go there, I have my own suite with color TV with dog movies and a doggie couch for me to sleep on. It has a big glass patio door so I can see out everywhere and check out the other dogsters staying there.

Then I get THREE BIG WALKS a day with some other doggers and we walk all over the 40 acres of ground where the Pet Lodge is located. I have to go home to get some REST!!! Lori and the other girls who are there sometimes like me, I think. They say that I "purr" (I think that's a nice way to talk about my little snorts I make when I'm excited and happy) and they've never known a Pug with so much energy. But we all know that's because I'm really a lot more Boston Terrier than 1/4.

I think I get to go there again this Friday and sleep over. Geez, I can hardly wait. I really LOVE THAT PLACE!!!! I'll try to write more later for you perro lovers.

Until then, "esconde el hueso"..... (hide the bone),
Bunker

Dad's Not at Home

Well, he left for the office yesterday. Then Mom walked me last night and this morning, so I know that means that he is gone. I kept getting off of the bed last night and going to the door to look for him, but he never came home. Mom tried to get me to settle down and go to sleep, but I just KNEW he had to be coming home. I was wrong. Mom told me he's going to be gone for two more days. That's a bummer.

But it could be worse.....I could be my bro Archie, the cat. Archie is HIS cat and, you know, it's not that Arch doesn't like Mom, it's just that he just prefers him a lot more. Arch is wanting to go outside so bad right now, but they aren't letting him out. At our old house, he went out almost every day and hung out with all of his kitty friends, but after we moved to our new house a few months ago, they kept him inside because they didn't want him to get lost and not find his way back. There was one really nice, warm day in January and so they felt sorry for him and let him go outside. Arch was gone for five days and it was ALL ABOUT ME. I was in dog HEAVEN!!! He was really worried about his cat and so was Mom, but, personally, I was enjoying it! My mom sent out an e-mail with Archie's photo attached to all the people she works with since lots of them live in our town. Then after five days, my bro Arch showed up in our garage at ten o'clock at night. Geez!! You would have thought it was the prodigal son coming home!! Out came the treats and the catnip! Oh, well! It was particularly nice while it lasted. I think they are thinking about letting Archie go outside again soon 'cause they think he knows his way back now and it's lots nicer outside now that it's spring. That would be okey-dokey with me, 'cause I get more attention that way. WOOF!!

Hasta pronto!
