Jolanda, the other Red Cattle Dog, caught up to me and tagged me.
Thanks Red Girl.

1. Do you ever wake your parent up in the night?
In the summer, no, but in the winter sometimes.
I nudge her to let me up on the bed and under the
covers when I get cold.

2. Do you ever tear up things?
Yep. Those stuffed dog toys. There's a need in
me to take the squeaker and the stuffing out. I
gotta do it on the sly when mom isn't around. She
doesn't like 'em to be destroyed.

3. What is your favorite treat?
HOMEMADE WHIPPED CREAM!!!!! Then everything else!

4. Can you fetch something when asked to do so?
No, no, and no. Mom says I'm about the only
Cattle Dog that doesn't like to fetch.

5. Have you ever lived any place other than where you live now?
Yep. I was born and lived on a reservation 'til I
was about 3 1/2 months old. Then I was rescued.

Oh The Horror Of It All

Horror of all horrors happened today! Something that
scares me death! Well, almost death.
Don't look at me that way. I'm sure I'm not the only
one that feels like that.

Mom just can't believe that the biggest dog in our pack
is scared of water. Scared of B-A-T-H-S.
Mom, did you ever think that I just enjoy being dirty
and I don't want to lose my flavor - my stank.

Needless to say, I got one. I was the last one to get
the water torture treatment. I was kicking back in my
sanctuary (under the bed) when here comes the vacuuming
queen (mom) with her vacuum cleaner disturbing my
contemplations. She knows that's another thing I cannot
handle. Not at all. Vacuum cleaners = pure evil. When
that thing comes into the bedroom and I happen to be
under that bed, I exit stage left - or right. I just gotta
get the heck outta Dodge, dude!! Sooooo, she innocently
asks me if I wanna go outside while she's vacuuming and
of course, I do. What pup wouldn't? And you know what
she does? She stops vacuuming and comes outside with me
and proceeds to do the bath thing.
I would not stay still.
I moved here and I moved there.
I made it hard for her to bathe me.
But she would not be deterred.

I gotta admit that I needed alot of that dead hair to
come off of me. And boy, did I have alot of it.
Pounds and pounds of it. There's still pounds that need
to be brushed off now. She'll do that tomorrow 'cause
her back was hurting from being bent over washing 5 pups.

After all that I guess she wanted to do more washing
'cause she headed out to take a shower.

New And Improved?

About this new dogster.

Yeah, we figured out where (almost) everything
was on the first day either by ourselves or by
reading what others were telling peeps to do.

No problem.

It's just that mom feels dogster has lost it's
"hometown" feeling. You know - like when you
drive into a town or someone drives into your
town and the sign says "Welcome to Dogsterville,
Population-5,623". The "community" happily greets
It's the down to earth, homey, everyone knows
everyone else feeling that's not there anymore.

And we understand it's because it's NEW.
New is sometimes hard to get used to.
New shoes are (most of the time) uncomfortable-
at least for my mom it is.
New baseball/softball gloves are hard to break in.
New glasses are hard to get used to - again, mom.
I think you get my drift.

Eventually . . . you adjust.

But losing something you love is harder to get
used to.

So, for now, my mom is sad 'cause she lost a
familiar friend - the old "homey" dogster.
The one she couldn't wait to get on.

homey: having a feeling of home, comfortable, cozy.
homey, homely, comfortable, welcoming, domestic,
friendly, familiar, cozy, comfy, informal, homespun,

The new dogster doesn't feel like any of these.

I'm here to help Mick out.
He doesn't have as many pals as I do and he wants
me to tell everyone he has a new video on his page.
Starring Mick and the puppeh.
Check it out.
Oh, the same one is on the puppehs page, too.

Now, was that good enough, Mick?

But . . .
How cool is that?!
Australian Cattle Dogs are really gettin'

So happy for that.

Congrats, Reba!

Mom's Crazy

You'll never guess what mom did the other day.
The 5th of this month exactly.
Well, maybe you can guess.

She. Got. Another. Dog!
Quite by accident.
Wasn't thinkin' of gettin' one.
But she did.

She stopped at WalMart by where her brother lives.
Hardly ever goes there but that day she did. She was
walkin' down (or up?) one of the main isles and
happened to look to the side at just the right moment
and what did she see? A lady holding a teeny tiny
baby puppeh. If you know my mom, she has to stop
and talk to the puppehs. She'll do it everytime! So
anyway - she asks if she can hold the baby. She's
givin' it lots of kisses and hugs (to her face 'cause this
fellow is teeny). Then, jokingly, she tells the
lady she's gonna put him in her purse and steal him.
You'd expect someone to say, *No, you can't take my
*. But what did this woman say?!
You ready?
She asked my mom if she wanted him!

She has two Great Danes and they thought this guy
was something to eat. They probably thought he was
a RAT. That's how small he is. She was afraid that he
wouldn't last long in her household, so they were
looking for a good home for him. They only had him
three days and knew it wasn't going to work out.

Mom was kinda at a loss for words (for once). She asked
if they were giving him away or what. Well, no, not giving.
Selling. Uh oh. Mom doesn't buy pups. BUT she was
worried about this one 'cause I'm sure they would of
sold him to "anyone". In fact some shady looking peeps
came up and said they'd take him! That's when mom
said, *Yes, I'll take him!* Thank dog it wasn't too
much. Oh, I almost forgot to mention what kind of pup
the lady said he is. A Chihuahua. A "teacup-apple head"
Chihuahua! Whatever that is???!!!
Yikes! I've heard of these little "devil" dogs. Teeny dogs
with a BIG attitude! Yep, there goes "my" neighborhood!

Yeah, my mom is crazy. Always trying to rescue some
dog/animal out of a bad situation. I guess I shouldn't
complain. She rescued me, didn't she!

Another thing. If you know my mom, it takes her a
looooooooong time to name a pet. So, as of this moment,
he STILL does not have a name. Poor guy. She's done
this with all of us that didn't come with names. Oh,
except for Wishbone. She wanted a JRT to name after
the TV Wishbone.

So there you are. Shes going to make a page for him but
bear with us 'til he's named. That's the main reason she
hadn't put him up yet.

That and 'cause she's crazy!

Shoot! My Birthday's Coming Up

Mom's not so favorite day is coming up. My birthday.
April 12th.
Like I said before, she does not like us to get older and
I am getting older.
She gets super bummed out.
Sorry mom.
If I could stay young forever, I would do that for you.
Because I know you love me so much.
But . . .
I can't.

A message was waiting for us when we got on the
computer today.
It was from the mom of one of my first buddies
here on dogster.
She had some sad news.
Conner, my "twin" went to the Bridge last month.
He suddenly became very sick and they had to do
that thing that pawrents dread most. They had to
help him cross the Bridge.

We're sad that we hadn't kept in touch with each
other lately but we always thought of him and his
sister, Kaci.

Run free and well, Conner, ol' buddy.
You will be missed and never forgotten because
you will live on in the hearts of those who love you.
Thank you Conner's mom, for sharing him with
us here on dogster. We're so glad we got to know
